Nice video. Those shipping boxes are killer. The IN Groove is the place that I have received them from so far. Acoustic Sounds has some great shipping boxes as well. Enjoy the music.
Mike at the In Groove sold and set up a sound system and turntable for a good friend of mine. She said he he was a great guy! BTW, great Cryptic Corporation shirt
Great haul, Dr. Robert! I tell anyone who will listen that THE issue of the first Modern Lovers to get is the 1986 Rhino/Beserkley LP, with extra tracks “I’m Straight”, “Dignified And Old” and “Government Center”. It also sounds fantastic. It’s easy to slot as it has the band members photo on the cover. That early demos LP you found is a great score and also on my wantlist. The Live at Longbranch Saloon 1973 2-LP set is a fun listen if you ever run across it. Thanks and take care!
I just sold my Rhino reissue a few weeks ago to get a first pressing and I almost regret it. Sounded great and I loved the cover and “I’m straight” is essential. Actually suppose to be on the record in this video on the first pressings.
I’ve also been looking for that Modern Lovers. Always seems like every copy is in Europe on Discogs! Wow, I’m in awe of that cleaning system and flattening service he has. I actually quit buying new records for the most part due to receiving too many warped copies. So annoying. Cool of him to flatten them and do a quality assurance, which should have been done at the ccfactory. He seems to have quite a work ethic
Yeah he is exceptional at operations. Never seem anything like it. And prices quite fair. I want to do a video about warp rate of new pressings. It’s out of control…
@@Doctore_Robert warp rate has go to be around 50% at least. I don’t buy a ton of new records but I honestly feel like I’ve never gotten a completely flat disc and a couple have actually caused the tone arm to jump. They’ve got too many orders, too few employees, and not good enough training. I worked in an injection molding plant for years, and even with that you need to allow the plastic parts to cool before packing them or they warp
I am so sorry! The original had it but the Beatles song in the in store video got it axed. I somehow missed it when remaking this video. I’ll post it another time…
Appreciate taking us on the tour Robert. It's a destination for sure.
Thanks!
Love the Ingroove! Got 2 rare records last week from Mike and they arrived perfectly! Many Thanks
Great to hear!
Just got a package from The In Groove today! Great shop.
Very cool! Great packaging I’m sure!

I've never seen that Modern Lovers album before, nice score!
I think I had only seen photos. It is great!
This is awesome 😎 I was gonna ask you if you liked Country music. I got my answers. Thanks for sharing
You bet! I like mostly old country. Cash, Nelson, Hank, Jimmy Rodgers. All great!

Just to clarify, did you change into shorts on the street?
I did, and flip flops. It was hot there!
A rant with Mazzy? I guess I missed it.

No worries! Great interview with Mile E.
