Mom from Finland fell in love with Kerala's nature - Holistic Eco Resort, Paithalmala Hill

- This is the first time my mom is visiting us in Kerala from Finland. She had visited India once earlier, but that was a tour of North India. While we were spending most of our time at home, we also wanted to show my mom the natural beauty that Kerala is known for as God's own country. So after spending a few weeks at our house in Payyanur, we decided to drive to a nearby hill resort in Paithalmala, which is the highest point in Kannur district. It was one of the most exotic experiences my mom has ever had. She loved all the nature, food, animals, waterfalls and a great Ayurvedic massage! Annika, as usual was toddlering around, talking to all the animals and insects and keeping us busy and entertained. We all had so much fun together and a very memorable stay at Holistic Eco Stay resort. Highly recommended for a quick getaway :)

› ABOUT ME
My name is Johanna North. I’m a Finnish woman travelling in India since 2016. In 2019 I married my Indian husband and we moved to the state of Kerala in southern India, where we are still living. In 2021 we welcomed our baby girl into this world. On this channel I share videos on blending our Finnish-Indian family life, culture, food and travel mostly in India, and sometimes in Finland too.

Actually Anika is a bridge between india and Finland. We must appreciate both of you .
There’s been no video for sometime……missing you….
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
It's 3 to 4 years of age a child needs to be corrected in their character. But usually elders take this time just play with them.l tell you this coz l took my neas to a doctor for counseling at the age of 16 , he told me this 3 to 4 age information , there on l tell everyone about this only because of the love towards children. Don't misunderstand me
I repeat myself over , in all these years I see so many Vloggers , yet with one or two exceptions, that too not in an all encompassing sense, I seldom have seen anyone who shoots and captures moments so beautifully with music blending in perfectly without being obstructive. And I don’t tire repeating this 😊.
Thank you so much for the kind words! Your repetition always cheers me up and gives me motivation 🙏
After eating hot, spicy Kerala food, Mummi goes red, her nose starts running, her ears start ringing , her mouth feels like a volcano, her brain is overloaded , her heart is pumping wildly and rivers of water start running down her face.
Johanna explaining to her Indian audience - Mama is crying tears of joy...
😂😂😂 well yes, but here in North Kerala/Malabar it’s really not that spicy! Especially when it comes to sadhya or fish meal 😅
Johanna, if your mom found it difficult to handle Kerala food, please dont take your mom anywhere near an Andhra restaurant, especially Guntur style. Their spice levels top in India. But, it would be great if you can try it once.
Oh my,such a thrill to the taste buds
Yes traditional Kerala food are spicy. You could have asked them to serve food with little or no spices, I can vouch that any restaurants in Kerala will be more than happy to make their guests happy.
Kerala is God's own place. No words to express the beautiful of each and every thing. Upon that it is very loving to watch Aanika's excitement and expression . Nice to see your mum enjoying India visit and loving the food too. ❤
Keralam - God's own country ❤️
Don't say only Kerala is beautiful u didn't even visited all states of India. M from northeast I have seen much more beautiful places in North East.
My mom really loved her stay in Kerala 😊
Lol kerala aint gods own country, it was marketed as this 🤣 for tourism , 😅
Still they don't allow Any devotees to see God, just as it happening in Shabarimala , it is the most overhyped place of India, just visit any North Indian States, or atleast visit your neighbouring States Andhrapradesh, Karnataka Rural places , they're are so many Beautiful Places, Kerala is only Famous because of it's good Tourism Campaign and marketing, 10-15k just to stay in Wooden boat , for that money You can Stay in 5star hotel with exclusive Access to every available service, first try to Respect The god you are talking about by good Facilities to the people who visit the temples, Out of all the places I visited Shabarimala Has the Worst facilities in terms of Providing Security to who walk through the jungle, or proper drinking water, places to rest
I am from Payyannur. Even though I too impressed with the video. Sure I will visit this beautiful resort soon with family. Thanks for your good words about Kerala and our culture.. 🥰🥰
How you narrate the stories is simply amazing……❤
Thank you 🙏
The way you all were surrounded by greenery, waterfall, birds ,animals, serene is nothing but have a feeling of living in heaven, even I tried ayurvedic massage in my city and it is really relaxing. Keep entertaining us by your amazing video Johanna family ♥️
Thank you so much, I’ll do my best! 🙏
Wonderful when two cultures meet..world must be thus..
Bless your family..
Not always my ex was an Hindu and he cheated on me with Filipino girl. Then blamed me for not acting like an indian woman. And ignore what he did. Most indian men are terrible
kerala is so beautiful. Everyone will fall in love with Kerala😍
Kerala is so beautiful. Your videos are topclass, the Lil girl looks like her Naani a lot.
1 suggestion: you should have 1 Finnish word in every video , that you teach to Annika, so that your viewers also learn a word. 👍🙏
Annika lucky child she gets to go to Finland and Kerala..woww
Wow ! nature is so kind to kerala
I enjoy Kerala through your vlog! You explain them so well and you visit places with Nature’s beauties 👍👌👏❤️
Just beautiful. How can somebody not fall in love with this country. From Kerala to Kashmir, from Gujarat to Arunachal. India is the most beautiful country on Mother Earth.
ahh yah, that seems awesome! Like a trip to mother earth. natural foods, nature, water, finding inner peace, quite. Nice one Kerala!
No world can beat Indian vegetarian food ; I have been to many countries and I can say this for sure.
The amalgamation of mixed spices, vegetables, coconut( in coastal region food) is so filling. My INDIA is best!!
Annika has the best upbringing ever
Never let it change. Let he grow up in the laps of Mother Nature
Amazing landscape, beautiful journey, very well captured video, really well done Johanna, enjoying the videos 💎🔥👍🏻
Thanks so much! 😊
I am watching from Canada. Thanks to make this such very nice VDO❤
Seeing the waterfall and the trickling stream reminds me of my childhood. My grandparents place was in Amboori, on the hillside. We used to spend so much time playing in the streams which run so clear and fishing in the ponds.
What a beautiful place to spend your childhood in! 😊
Your mom is the cutest and sweetest, i see where you get it from.
What a beautiful concept eating out of banana leaves but never got to experience that! Annika is such a curious traveler and so glad your mom is enjoying there and very comfortably it seems. And you looking so pretty. Enjoy your stay at that heavenly place ❤️🥰
I’m sure there must be South Indian restaurants in the US who’d serve food on banana leaves too! Or at least try to find a place on your next India trip, it’s quite the experience 😊
Love your videos......I am a malayale. How beautifully you're capturing my state ❤️
Indian's millineal generation is grateful for Nokia (finnish mobile company)..such a nostalgia✨
Finally a quiet 1/2 hr to watch your spectacular video Johanna. What a gorgeous place on this earth. So good that grandma had a wonderful experience & that Annika got to enjoy it all again. Kerala is one of very few places in India you can go to without seeing human excrement everywhere and get diarrhea from the food instantly
So beautiful Annika loves the animals 🐈⬛🦜🫏🐕🦺🦩🐓🦢so so beautiful Annika 👧🏻🎄☕️🤶🏻
Loving your Vlogs. Not a travel lover, but your Vlogs inspire a lot and I am now fond of travel.
You know you don’t always have to travel to foreign lands or even very far from home! It’s more of a mindset of openmindedness, curiosity, learning and above all of finding something good and beautiful about everything, everywhere 😊 just going out and exploring one’s home region is a splendid thing!

Happy holidays! 🙏
Beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤. Lovely kerala. Backwaters is most beautiful. The house boats
Backwaters are beautiful too 😊
Great experience you all had. Lovely... Just a culture thing, not a crime and just FYI. In Tamil Nadu there is a thing like if you fold the banana leaf away from you, it means you do not want it again. This is done after lunch at a funeral house to say we are sorry. Pretty similar to chop-sticks stuck on a rice bowl in Japan. So, to say I liked the food and thank you for your hospitality, you fold the banana leaf towards you after the meal.
Here the locals fold the banana leaf away from themselves, so that’s how I do it too 😊
Take her to Munnar
Amazing Mom is very happy . She might have seen different part of world .
