Thank you. Quickest build i ever did. I think habro was keeping cost down on an almost perfect piece. If they re-released with my doors they would make a killing on all of us nostalgic fans.
Nice work! Great upgrade! The Tomahawk has always been one of my favorites. When I got married back in 88, my Wife gave me one for my Birthday that year. Still have the Tomahawk, Lift Ticket, his mike and the box. And the Wife too.
As a kid I assumed I had lost the Tomahawk doors because you can kind of see them on the box art. Hasbro missed out on not including a set of sliding doors on the original. Congratulations on that precision engineering.
It must feel extra satisfying to know that you built this yourself and really made a clean fit with the factory-produced helicopter. I think it's a nice touch that you made the doors out of cereal boxes with graphics about Trix and Cocoa Puffs, hinting that we could maybe have done something like this as kids if we had been suitably motivated.
I drew a striaght line measured the spacing. Then I used a file to punch holes. They are recessed.not raised. There's a photo at the end showing me doing it
It looks very nice but from all those war movies in Vietnam you always remembered the helicopters having both sides open where they would be busting giant heavy machine gun cannons for cover fire those were the best memories of those helicopters in reality where you see them bursting machine cannons before landing picking up injured soldiers and taking off bursting machine gun cannons . I’m not sure if you remember the tv show called M.A.S.H they had a few episodes like that same with a lot of Vietnam war movies
I love that Chopper and I had a quick glance at your other vehicles love your talent to make tanks and vehicles, the second version the Eagle Hawk sucks cause the blades don't lock into place, maybe the paint shortage is because China is painting up it's military vehicles before they launch there sneak attack invasion because they are working with Russia and they did meet in secret to coordinate there war plans,
Great Idea. Open doors are all cool, until you almost fall out at around 1800ft on the go. Keep your seatbelt on, or tie in as soon as you get your seat!
Supply shortages are happening around the world. I live in Australia and we got supply issues too so and Joe Biden isn’t in charge of Australia. so it’s probably a lot more issues than just blaming someone with early onset dementia.

I agree that it's a fantastic classic. Minus missing doors it's probably the best vehicle I've seen from Gijoe thus far. Raven , Rattler, skystryker also in this league
The door will give me ideas on doing mine also and they just came in the mail (2) 6in Battle android troopers to add to the 25th collection now sgt slaughter will run for his life lol

I actually did build vehicles and bases from cardboard as a kid
I did a lot of stuff with cardboard and paper clips when I was a kid. Wish I would’ve thought of this for my tomahawk. Awesome job

G.I. Joe and cobra both seemed to have no regard for the personnel riding on their vehicles. From the havoc, to the glass canopy on the HISS
Cardboard was always my go to on the canopies for things like that havoc, and the armored personnel carrier

I made the blades on the CopperHead fold together for more realistic feel and to make it easier to handle than the Tomahawk
