That's bullshit! The Makita is in screw assist so it starts out slow. Put it in manual 4th gear it turns a couple hundred rpm faster with more impacts. You don't know how it works yet.
Personally, i don't care which one is fastest. In the bigger scheme, they are all pretty close. What matters to me is the reliability and longevity of the tool life. So what if one takes a few seconds longer to drive a 12 inch screw, its faster than having to run to the supply house to get a new tool.
I use both makita and Milwaukee. Damn good tools, going for about 4 years and haven't crapped out yet. Ive had dewalt before, to be fair the atomic series is good. Can't complain.

I have a small 9v impact driver which i choose over my 20v impact driver 99% of the time because I prefer the control and it’s plenty fast enough.
