Just not true, but i understand where you are coming from. 1. A lot of banks don’t charge fees. You don’t need to have a credit card. As long as you are just very basically fiscally responsible, you pay nothing for having a checking account + debt card. They often waive fees too if you mess up once or twice. 2. Think about the amount of change/cash you have misplaced. You never will lose your money like that with a debit card. 3. You have the opportunity to build credit when you are ready and the ability to practice and learn financial health. Being able to consistently save your money neaty and safely somewhere is how you build true wealth. You’re telling me you think its better to hide all your cash in your house or something. The biggest concern is when payment systems decide to not do "business" with you, i.e. Visa and Mastercard. How can they just decide to not do business with you and it's not considered a monopoly? Very true it makes the transactions real. When you pay cash. When you use plastic you always get in trouble over spending in malls, restaurants, bars, casinos.
I'm more of the opposite. Cash on hand is gone before I even touch my cards. Plus, there are apps that make it easy where my money goes. Now, Cash is on hand for me if I tip at the bar/restaurant or if I know I'm going to a cash-only place.
And yet pennies cost more to make them their worth. All thanks to inflation which is something that the government imposed so basically they crossed themselves
Then just don’t use it. Simple. It’s the future so your going to use it anyways. And also you talk about private but the US government is spying on everyone. Why am I forced to become a customer of a bank? Going cashless is like closing down train and bus stations and forcing people to buy a car.
Exactly my thought! To correlate cashless with discriminating the poor is, to me, a poor argument. We have successful stories like those in China and Hong Kong (Octopus cards) that, even the poor can use them without bank accounts and bank fees. Also, the thing about overdraft fees is that the account holders aren’t aware that they can deny having their accounts overdrawn in advance. Anyone who doesn't see how bad this is is insane. If they goes to a digital currency it means they could turn it on and off at will they could control what you buy when you spend money what you spend it on. I cannot in any way agree to completely eliminate cash and allow only electronic money. I believe that it would be extremely disadvantageous and very dangerous for the whole society. I think that it is worth paying cash, because having cash has always been synonymous with freedom and, in contrast, giving up physical currency would mean loss of that freedom. In my opinion: 1) Cash allows you to stay anonymous. Unlike electronic money, there is also no trace of the transaction on your bank account. If you pay by bank transfer or card, each of your expenses is recorded in the banking system. 2) You can easily hide cash - cash is a very convenient and practical solution. Cash cannot be blocked or taxed suddenly and quickly - just like money in your account. For example, the authorities could try to introduce the so-called Cypriot variant. In 2013, under pressure from the European Union and the International Monetary Fund, the Cypriot government decided to grab some of the population's savings from banks. 3) When you pay with cash, you always spend less money than when you use a card, and you have more control over your expenses. 4) Using cash is free, and banks charge a commission for electronic money. 5) With cash - in the event of any financial crisis, stock market crash or war - you will have money. 6) Electronic payments cannot work without electricity and modern technologies, and cash does not need anything at all. I highly recommend you the book entitled "Cash is freedom. Why is it worth paying cash and preventing cashless society" by Rafal Ganowski. You can buy it on Amazon.com

That's why all these riots and destruction is taking place. Also the reason for covid. It's to crash the economy so the governments mainly Russia, china and us are working on together along with the European countries. Soon we'll all be under one bank and digital currency only.
"they may take our lives, but they'll never take our CASH!!!!" - Brave heart
They will send the marines to take there cash back
They’ve been taking your cash’s purchasing power for decades. Aka inflation

Depends on how much cash you have. The more you have on you the more tempting it will be to rob you. And you may end up losing your life over it too. I've heard too many stories of people being held up and their money stolen. Which is also why banks get robbed too. If the only money the banks had were credit/cryptocurrency then it would be pointless to physically go in and rob them. So your wrong on this one. Someone can rob you, take your cash and maybe your life as well.
Don’t know about you bud but I ain’t dying over a piece of paper that’s worth less then the Euro currency 🤣
When email come around we didn't get rid of the postal system. In the same way we don't need to get rid of cash just because cards/digital payments are here. They both have their uses.
His eye contact in that interview is killing my soul
ah hahaha
The fact that people don't realize what a terrible mistake this is, is a shame. Giving the government and elite the opportunity to throttle your money is not a good thing.
Do you have a bank account?
It's convenient for us too not use cash.
Btw, why do you think it's a bad idea?
I haven't used cash to buy something since I was a child tbh. I think that 99% of the purchases that I've made since I have been 18 have been through credit/debit card and electronic
@Toynbee Yonkers it's not just online, and debit cards are an option. Most shops here in the UK will have a card machine with a contactless payment option. I've been using contactless via my phone for the past couple years, and prior to that was doing the same with my debit card. All in all, I haven't held cash for a long time, and very rarely see it.
There's even more emphasis on electronic payment now that coronavirus is here. Quite a few places literally have a no cash policy as a precaution.
I am much older and rarely use cash. I do keep a hundred or so in my wallet out of habit.
Bot... Literally and figuratively
Certainly won't be a millionaire at the end of the this recent fluctuation, but however I had 55k invested 6 months ago in bitcoin I'm sitting at 482k now with 50% in eth and 20% in the other alts. The so I'm ver happy and thankful to you to Mrs Annabelle Templar who made this possible by helping me trade maybe the next time I'll have enough to become a millionaire.
Wow, your portfolio must be looking nice

@RebeccaAnderson is Mrs Annabelle Templar your broker, I guess I didn't make so much because I didn't put in much

@@angelajustice3802 yep and partly because you didn't put in much but I'm sure if you traded with my broker your profits would be higher
When everything become digital in the future 💵 (cashless society), it will be easier to get hacked.
Thats what the government wants and cbs news is on their team!!
Exactly. California EDD had 2 billion stolen in fraud!
Update: now reported at 8 billion stolen.

Bitcoin has been “digital” since day 1 and it’s never been hacked.

I rather cash ....don’t need a 3rd party watching me ✋
Exactly
In theory it should be possible for them to make transactions private unless there is a problem. Ie: you hold an encryption key that the bank needs in order to view a transaction in the case of a dispute. Unfortunately they make too much money spying on us.
Contamination is just a excuse for paper money. You carry a card around and handle. Stuff the card is contaminated.
I still use cash and I still go to a cashier. I see where this is headed.
elaborate?
Ya, please elaborate. The cashier’s lines are always way too long for me to wait in - so I always just go through self-checkout 💳💁🏽♀️

Anyone who doesn't see how bad this is is insane.
If they goes to a digital currency it means they could turn it on and off at will they could control what you buy when you spend money what you spend it on.
They don't want you to buy a specific car you won't be allowed to if they don't want you to buy any guns or ammunition you won't be allowed to if they don't like what you're buying or what you eat you won't be allowed to purchase, if they deem you bought too much alcohol in a day or a week or whatever they can stop that.
Granted some of these might be extreme but a digital currency controlled by the government will be bad.
Yep, there will be alot of trading. Ex: hey I can't buy (this) can you buy it and I'll buy you that amount in whatever you want. Public always finds a way
And this will lead to more robbery and murder
@@RubberSideDown2 I posted the same thing. It's more then one way to skin a cat
Getting rid of cash would be equivalent to getting rid of the first amendment with regard to individual freedoms. If you don't think so, you have not thought this through.
That guy really don't like technology, but he LOVES his cash
This news story didn't mention once about using cash due to privacy concerns
Who do you think writes these stories?
@@martinlutherkingjr.5582 Big business writes these stories...most large stores now require the customers to sign up or pay more...since the news is paid for by thses companies you will not hear much about our "Your papers please" society which we now live in.
To walk around without any money in your pocket doesn't make any sense to me, I never walk out the door with just a debit card, never. If you think money is dirty, learn how to wash your hands, it's a better habit than constantly borrowing money. When I buy something I prefer that the transaction is over, I'm not interested in dealing with it a month later.
They pretty much already have here in Canada. I don’t know many people who still carry cash. Even buying second hand items off Kijiji/Craigslist, people ask for e-transfer. It’s safer, more secure, you have a receipt, etc.
Yes that’s because the big five banks give free etransfer unlike these payment apps which is why I don’t understand why anyone uses these apps like square or PayPal when you get free transactions with with these banks and you can just use your phone for it
@@ryandavies5584 what bank are you with? I'm with TD and pay $1.50 to send an etransfer. So I only use it for the landlord.
@@katherinelangford981 you need to call your bank, because that is a joke. No bank I have ever been with charges for etransfer, including TD.
@@ryandavies5584 these payment apps are also free though. I’ve never paid a fee for PayPal unless it was a credit card transaction.
@@katherinelangford981 I’m with TD it’s free for me. Check you have the “unlimited savings / checking account” with them. It’s around $20 a month for that account, but it’s free if you maintain a balance for 5,000
i havent seen cash money since 2019 or 2018 lol
I live in the UK and had no idea we have new £20 notes lol
america is too behind lol
It's true for a lot of Europe now for me in Sweden we are are as good as a cashless society now, the majority of stores in my city don't even accept cash any more.
Haven't used cash my self to pay for several years now, all i use is my Card, or Swish (It is pretty much is Sweden's universal payment app now it was something like 80% of the population and business have it.)
@@dannnyyang Well America are far behind in everything now days lol
Hell you even have developing nations in Africa that have gone almost cashless now and hey they have things like free healthcare to but the US nope lol
@@Ringman87a Same in The Netherlands, we have a lot of cashless payment here. I am actually surprised that the US doesn't have something like bank cards or something for payment.
I dunno. I like both. Any "replacing" of paper currency means the banks are going to have a finger or more likely their whole hand in that pie. Fee, fee and fee- for the convience of course.
This banks keeps looking for ways to get hold of our money, can someone please help me tell them bitcoin already got my money lol?
Except bitcoin is more of a digital asset. Kinda hard to pay for day-to-day things when the price is so volitile.
I loved using cash. It used to help me keep track of my spending when I used to go to restaurants, bars and cafes. I also used to receive cash tips which helped me out a lot since I took public transit. I don’t think people are worried too much about contamination. Since everything can be done online there’s no reason to keep cash around. I think once the virus is under control, people will go back to using cash. It has a lot more uses than people realize
Stop being a sheep
I use cash 💵 too, don’t listen to fools
Just the feel of cash in your hands just feels better.
I mean I know prostitutes and strippers will take Bitcoin
Gonna be so many rich working girls next year lol

The government hasn’t been able to tax Bitcoin yet. Once they do, jobs that are “illegal” will not be able to use it anymore
Lololol yesss
When you have direct deposit, you get less access to actual cash unless you get a small amount out of an ATM
In my opinion:
1) Cash allows you to stay anonymous.

Bitcoin is not fit for anything other than speculation. The value is too volatile and the transactions are processed very slowly and inefficiently.
When alcoholics and drug addicts ask me for money in parking lots, and I tell them, “ I don’t carry cash”, it’s not a lie.
