The driver was of forest department itself.....we were not there to harm forest animal...it was just a visit to seen jungle unarmed

Gypsy was not in safe distance at all from the wild elephant. And after reversing and going bit far, still elephant came close, and driver didn't reverse till elephant again chased. It shows the driver's immaturity and lack of respect for this wild beast. You should always give way to wild animals and don't tease them by waiting for them to chase you.
Not just driver’s fault but over insistence of his stupid tourists. This is typical example of careless immaturity of Indian tourists who think wild animals should give them a show just because they paid entry fee and not understanding that they are entering their domain where they must follow their rules. You got away very lucky because of the driver’s intelligence and the elephant’s patience.
It appears that you deliberately invaded their space and then provoked this female to defend her family from you. If this is how you treat elephants no wonder there is so much human-elephant conflict in Sri Lanka. Shocking to witness.

Your jeep got driven back in reverse at least 3 kms, it looked. I guess it was a male elephant and in mast.. and it gave clear warning by rubbing its foot on land that it will attack you shouldn't have been so close to it.
Everything is done intentionally,that elephant was just muk charging not in a chasing mood. angry wild elephant will terrorise everyone the trumpet and the body posture alone will kill you.these people are doing this for tourist attraction wild life authorities must take strict action.this kind approach will change the animal behaviour that is too dangerous 👹👹

The Elephant was nice, he gave them ample warning that he wasn’t comfortable having them around, and wanted them gone. He was patient, thus I find no fault in this elephant! 🙂

These idiots were lucky to escape alive. Three times I have been to Corbett, and one each to Kaziranga and Royal Chitwan, Nepal. Four times to Africa on upmarket, one to one Safari that included walking Safari tracking Rhino and lions. African guides has to qualify after 3-5 years course. I can put my life in their hand. They teach us bush craft, animal behaviour, Do's and Don't, anticipation, what to do when animal charge. In Indian wildlife, so called guides only know jungle road as a taxi driver in Delhi knows the road.

Driver Jaan bujh kar Elephant ko Cher raha hai aur gaadi uskay face to face karkay usko challenge kar raha hai. Driver ka naam kya hai?? If I ever visit this national park i will prefer to avoid drivers who r itching for it n deliberately invite trouble . Ye toh Marwaney wala kaam hai in the name of adventure.
