It hits you hard, when you passed 40 and listen to this song.
And 50, Gino!
Like The Ballad of Lucy Jordan
45 years old with a 6 year old daughter…..this speaks to my soul
It speaks to me as well.
Yesss 😢
The best song of the decade. There's Something raw and nostalgic about it that really got me. Truly a masterpiece. Thank you Sharon Van Etten for this piece of art.
I just discovered this song...I cried
same when i read the lyrics i feel like crying . which part of the song makes u cry tho?
I use to feel free , was it just a dream? I’m in my 40s and that part made cry .
"I wish I could show you how much you've grown...half-way through this life...just to see afraid that, you'll be, just like meeeeee"
This is one of my absolute favorite songs, but my first time seeing this performance. I'm crying too. I can't wait to see it live for myself!
I'm 17. After this song I cry😥
enjoy it while you can, but just know that aging doesn't take away who you are as long as you don't let it
Have you heard The Ballad Of Lucy Jordan? This song gives me the same feeling.
At 21, this song is probably starting to hit even deeper now.
First listen and then I listened 15 times in a row.
rel
I love that she sounds like Sharon Van Etton.
Love the stand up bass in this performance - and her voice, incredible, as always.
I just found this song,
Her voice is amazing❤
Sharon, is playing a Maton acoustic, a great Australian guitar maker, I own one myself. Fantastic song.
This is the best version of this song I've found.
So raw, so pure. The best version of this amazing song.
Holy fukin shit balls this songs AMAZING. Why the hell doesn't this have ten million hits😵
God she's so beautiful, too. Still is; always will be.
My resolution for next years is to be able to listen to her live ❤️
The song is just awesome... It gives me goosebumps
I love this version of Seventeen more than the "go hard" version. She still "goes hard" in the last verse which is amazing. idk if this comment made any sense lol, but watch her other live version of this song
Sharon has mad me cry with her music more than all of my ex favorite artists 😅❤ Is such a wonderful one!!!
Love her, her voice is precious.
What an a song! Sharon played a show at my house back in the mid oughts. She was amazing.
I LOVE HER
I just found this song, I'll be 37 in a few weeks, 20 years flys by alright lol she sounds just like the music album in person which is always the best kind of singer
so emotional and raw....just beautiful!!!!
perfect match with this 2nd voice
I know what you wanna say
I think that you're all the same
Constantly being led astray
You think you know somethin' you don't
Downtown harks back
Halfway up the street
I used to be free
I used to be seventeen
Follow my shadow
Around your corner
I used to be seventeen
Now you're just like me
Down beneath the ashes and the stone
Sure of what I've lived and have known
I see you so uncomfortably alone
I wish I could show you how much you've grown
Downtown harks back
I used to be on this street
I used to be seventeen
I used to be seventeen
Now you're half shy
Hanging on my block
Sun coming up
Who is my shadow?
La la la la la la la
La la la la la la la
La la la la la la la
La la la la la la la
I know what you're gonna be
I know that you're gonna be
You're crumbling up just to see
Afraid that you'll be just like me
Downtown harks back
Halfway through this life
I used to feel free
Was it just a dream?
Now you're half shy
Think you're so carefree
But you're just seventeen
So much like me
You're just seventeen
You're just seventeen
Seventeen

Inadvertently overwrote the Fleetwood file. New high score anyway. This is the girl Tom Petty would have let in the band.
