I am really baffled by how to fly this. Props to those who can do insane FPV tricks; I am definitely getting an Avata next year so I can ease myself into this insane hobby.
The AVATA is a DJI MAVIC in mode NORMAL and mode SPORT, but to fly it in an FPV DRONE MODE called MANUAL it is a million times more difficult than the CETUS. Unfortunately the more you fly a GPS Camera drone like a MAVIC or fly the AVATA in NORMAL or SPORT mode, the less your brain will adapt to MANUAL (ACRO) mode. Every person in the FPV hobby began as yourself, however, those who started with zero drone experience were able to train their brain quickly to develop hand/eye coordination. Those who came from flying GPS Camera drones had a much more difficult time because they are all use to the DRONE doing all the work for them. With practice and tiny movements of the joysticks, you'll eventually get the hang of it.
What an amazing kit. Even for a pro who likes to fly indoors this can be a very nice setup when out of beginners mode. It's worth the price to get a fun little whoop style quad and nice "ride a long" googles and an excellent back up transmitter. Tremendous value. Oh yes, let's not forget the case! Thank you Steve for all the super fantastic videos. Love the channel. On a scale of 1 to 10 you and the channel rank a good solid 20!!!! In other words, "off the charts". Stay safe.
Well, as you said this is a perfect drone for beginners who need a bit of handholding. I can see how this would sell quite well. Pity that DJI won't make a more affordable entry level FPV drone, but I suppose this will have to do. Thanks for the review!
I just got mine I love it it has fast medium and slow mode on it to it truly is a nice beginner kit for somebody that don't know how to fly fpv your videos help a lot keep making them awesome 👍

I guess I have to return mine. Not only does the altitude hold not work, but holy cow my goggle vision is incredibly staticky compared to yours. I checked the signal strength and their all green. When I use the TOF, it just throbs up, up and away! Until its gone, no matter what I do with the throttle! Thanks for this video, this is what I was looking for to dip my toe into FPV from regular amazon drones.

One of the best tiny whoops I have ever got, but the only two downsides are that the goggles don’t reach far enough for me to get a good view, and the battery sag with the included batteries is very extreme.

Ordered from betafpv on the 30th of sept, so currently at 18days of shipping ((YIKES)) BUT I now know what to do with modes, switches, and pairing to get flying! Thanks Captain! Also to note - Im 12 hours logged learning with a PS3 controller and the Liftoff sim, so feeling prepared for sport mode ;)
Great video. New frame sfyle on the quad. Looks like a good beginner kit. I started fpv with their starter kit 65s lite and it has been great, but im ready to advance. These kits are great if someone is kind of unsure if fpv is really for them or as a stepping stone into the fpv hobby.
I would like to ask if other Batteries with the same capacity and size would work for that drone because the ones from BETAFPV only hold for like 1:30 Minutes? For example what about the Tattu ones?

Awesome video Steve. A while ago i purchased the Lightradio 2 SE for my son and i could never get it to bind with any of my quads so we ended up using it for the sim games on our pc.
It binds with all Frsky D16 and D8 receivers. Super simple binding system. My guess is you may not have had those receivers or were unfamiliar in the binding process (lots of people have such an issue).

Amazing video as usual...Hopefully Optical flow can make its way into future drones. The benefits are great, even for larger drones and the sensor doesn't seem too large.
Lol...it’s essentially got smart audio for switching via menus in goggles....nifty for a kit like this.....also no dipole antennas for the goggles? Built in? Also nice touch...new folks won’t be smashing those in their bags etc....

Max Speed? Can I ask why you need to know? That is not a question people in the FPV hobby as the hobby is not for people that fly in a straight line. Perhaps you are thinking about those ready to fly beginner drones from companies like DJI where the pilot flies straight for the purpose of filming.
If you did not see it flipping in the video, then that would be NOPE. However if I flew it outdoors and flipped and rolled it, then that would mean YES. Watch the video and you'll get your answer.
In the FPV hobby the camera on a drone is for a pilot to see where they are going and not for recording video. Perhaps you are looking for a drone in the camera drone hobby instead.

You can use any battery you like that has the same number of cells and has the same connector.

So I just got this I don’t have a A mode I only normal mode, s, and m modes. It also loves to go straight up
The modes have been changed since this review. Perhaps watch my review of the CETUS PRO it might have similar modes to yours.

Not for this model. You'd have to jump up to the other CETUS drones like the CETUS X.

After you plug battery to drone, what do you do? Does battery charge drone or do you leave battery plugged in?
You only plug the battery into the drone when you wish to fly. Once done flying, remove battery from drone.
