Frank Zappa is a freaking legend. He is a composer on the level of Jaco Pastorius, Mozart, and John Williams. Such a brilliant man that changed the way music is. There will never be anyone close to or similar to him and what he did in so little time. God bless his immortal soul.
I m Proud to Tell you that I saw the Performance in the Berliner Philharmonie under the presentation of Moon. Frank was to sick at the Time. That was something !
G-Spot Tornado is the piece's name. Regardless, the frenetic dancers remind me of those in Sia's pieces. Stunning choreography that matches the musical material.
"You have to understand the yellow shark isn't a piece it was just the name of the evening, the name of the event... the name of the song is Beat the Reaper" --from a Frank interview
In his biography written during the eighties Zappa said that the La symphony orchestra would play his music if he gave them two Bosendorfer pianos. His reaction it wasn't worth it. Yet upon stage what do I see? Two pianos, as I don't know the circumstances , but I imagine the LA symphony orchestra relented. Parallels with 200 motels. Great music.
Outstanding. Of course Zappa knew that there needed to be a suggestive dance routine to keep Joe Ordinary involved; after all, how exciting could it be to merely watch musicians reading and executing a difficult tonguing étude? Damn exciting to me, but I'm not "them." Thanks for finding this- I know that Zappa is a " closet" inspiration to many of us.
That dancer is Louise Lecavalier from Montreal. Worked with La La La Human Steps.
Brilliant choreography.

This was Frank's last public performance, he loved doing it but was in too much pain to continue

Die meest enegieke dans met grandorchestra begeleiding die ik ooit gezien heb, uiteraard van mijn grote muziekmagier.
Intense. Rhythmic. Explosive. Sexy. Brilliant.
c'est juste superbe ! quelle énergie on reste envouté
Was für eine Energie!
Genio!!!!
Frank certainly knows more !!

Recall Zappa did this on his Synclavier.
Then did it with live musicians.
Not just a watered down variation.
Before MTV Unplugged (UNBRAINED).

+tim price German TV broadcasted the whole "yellow shark" live on national television, and only the "G spot tornado" had 2 dancers performing.
c'est G spot tornado ^^ mais c'est bien issu du Yellow Shark
was Frank already sick with prostate cancer during this concert?
Yes, he was sick for a while before the Yellow Shark concerts.
not bad Frank Zappa knows more...
