The shadow clone jutsu we know in NARUTO was actually inspired by the original Wukong, In the book "Journey to the West", Wukong was a disciple of a great sage who taught him all these abilities, one of his famous tricks is to pluck a handful of his own fur and imbue magic into it by blowing them out to make his clones and outnumber his foes. A funny detail about this trick is that depending on the length of the hair, the strength of the clones also differs, longer hairs turn into clones with the same staff he wields, shorter hairs turn into clones bare handed using punch and kicks, and even shorter hairs turn into chibi which jump on the enemy to bite and claw them. Btw, he can also apply his morph abilities to his plucked hair like turning it into objects, tools or even clones of other beings (can't clone their ability though) at his will, which is totally OP :P And when the spell is over, all the plucked hair returns back to his body.
How do we know the clone ability is inspired from this though? It's not that unique - where's the evidence/reference? I know that Goku is literally Wukong as the Japanese reading of the hanzi for Wukong = 悟空 = Goku
Haha I didn’t know that either lol although I’ve heard of journey to the west but this my first time actually getting an in depth look at the story, cuz I looked it up yesterday and then these comments let me know more too lol that’s crazy haha (also little disclaimer we made some of the same references in our vids, I promise I didn’t copy haha u dropped urs last night while I was editting mine smh lol) but regardless man 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
It is. But people who really understand the background and the setting are not willing to spend money and time to make one. Shame on those Chinese companies.
@Let Tice I know the game you mentioned. It's an adoption of a very Chinese anime blockbuster. But it's an crimingly awful adoption and a waster of IP. National disappointment.
it would be great for more future consoles, this ps5 console can run some crazy things but it still looks a little bbit cartoonic and not super realistic like movies i bet if this wukong game kept making sequels the ps6 will do the job perfectly
1:46 Wolf soldier A: How come there are some wine bottles? I wonder if there’s any wine in them... 1:50 Wolf soldier B: Stop thinking about it! Reference to a character “Lady White Bones” in a previous game made by the same developers.
@@tropicalvikingcreations Yes. She's a Demon Wukong kills on their journey to the west. The reference in the final phrase of the trailer is to their 2010 MMO game "Asura" also based on Journey to the West. It was published by Tencent and was a success. They very rapidly began trying to over-monetize the game with pay to win garbage. The developers (same ones here) protested, and Tencent pulled them off the project following the White Bones Witch content expansion. Under direction of a new team and Tencent's increasingly aggressive monetization, the MMO eventually crashed and burned. At that time, players of the game frequently posted a phrase online "After White Bones Witch, there is no more Asura." The final screen of the trailer shows 8 big characters near the top: "After White Bones Witch, revisit the Journey to the West". It is a subtle nod to Asura and perhaps a dig at Tencent. This game truly is like the continuation of the Journey to the West game they wanted to make back then, but was prevented from doing so by Tencent.
So it is part of his capabilities/lore. One of his abilities is to transform into objects/beings. In the last fight, he did indeed transform into the first boss. And when he met the other monkey, that monkey he met is the "original" copy, whilst the one you were controlling was probably a copy of himself. And fyi, his weapon is basically a conscious magical pillar that can have its size adjusted
Kinda sad that all these anime TH-camrs have never heard of the inspiration for the OG shonen. Dragon Ball, Naruto, One Piece, Journey to the West was the inspiration for all those shows dude.
@@misty_ravy journey to the west is basically about finding something mythical on a journey a certain place in one certain direction. Finding god hood while journeying to the west. So one piece is about finding one piece to while journeying to the Grand. See it?
Sun Wukong is one of the most badass figures in Buddhist mythology. He also has a lot of influence in anime. Goku got the flying nimbus from Wukong, and Naruto's shadow clone jutsu also originated from him. He's also known as the Monkey King. He was a protagonist in the book called 'Journey to the West', which is referenced as the journey that the Divine Child and Sekiro have to partake in to bring the Dragon's Heritage back to its birthplace, which is in China. He can also shapeshift, grow/shrink, grow and shrink any weapons that he uses (bo/monkey staff mainly)and uses them as hairpins, and is considered the most powerful of the gods since he has learned all of the gods' techniques and has actually beat all of their asses multiple times, which turned him to an outcast and resulted in him being petrified in the center of a mountain.
The flying nimbus isn't the only thing inspired by Journey to the West, Goku's original character concept was entirely based off Wukong. In the Korean and Chinese dub for Dragon Ball, Goku's name is literally Sun Wukong/Ogong. He also wielded the power pole/staff, trademark weapon for the Monkey King.
You'd be surprised how many people actually don't know about Sun Wukong in reality. Personally, my first exposure to Chinese Mythology was when I read "American Born Chinese" by Gene Luen Yang. That comic was where I first learned about Wukong.
"So we got Ben Ten, The Monkey, what else can you do?" Wukong: Well, I've got 72 transformations and you've only seen two so far. And I can create a thousand copies of myself by pulling out my hair. And I have glowing eyes that can see through all illusions and detect evil after being locked up in Laozi's furnace for 49 days, and I can survive having my head cut off due to having five different forms of immortality, which apparently immortality is a buff that stacks. Oh yeah, and my staff weighs 8,000 kilograms. What can you do?"
@@danielgerald1636 according to numerous sources I've read, and I double checked them just now, the original novel describes it as weighing 13,500 jīn, or 7960 kilograms.
Sun Wukong, the Monkey King. One of the most famous characters in Chinese folklore. The character who inspired Dragon Ball, Naruto, and a lot of other anime.
Explanation for why the end of the Wolf boss fight was significant. The one who stopped the fight is the real Sun Wukong. The Chinese characters on the staff read "Ruyi Jingu Bang" which is the name of the legendary weapon Wukong uses. This means that the entire time, we weren't watching Sun Wukong but the Six Eared Macaque who claims himself to be Wukong.
The reason he can transform is Cause Sun Wukong has the 72 transformations that allow him to turn into other creatures Also the staff he got was shrunken in Size by him and placed in his ears
Goku has over 20 transformations and practically one technique with like 💯 variations 🤣 (and yes, I know Goku has more than just the Kamehameha, chill out).
The monkey you play is the “fake” and the monkey who blocked you is the real monkey king. It’s in the lore. Fun Facts: the music at the end comes from the original theme of the TV series in 70’s. If you are not old enough or not from China you will definitely miss the reference.
at 13:08 these are the FOUR heavenly king. Each has its own name in Chinese mythology, but for easy understanding, its the north, south, east and west king. The north king name 多闻(pronounce Duowen) 天王(king) Holds the umbrella on one hand and the mouse of treasure on the other hand The south king name 增长(ZengZhang) 天王(king) Holds the sword The west king name 广目(Guangmu)天王, which his name is Chinese can mean "wide vision" as you can also probably guessed, his eye views the world. And dragon rests on his hand. The east king name 持国(Chiguo)天王, he holds a spear and pipa on his back, but usually, the icon of him is only holding his pipa. Each king has its own specific meaning and shit loads of background story but ill leave that to you guys to discover. You can often see them in Chinese temple and on the older generation's front door meaning to safeguard us from the evil (and bad luck). I'm very excited to see how this game comes out, as a Chinese, I can tell you each monster and each place have its own story and mythology, great FUCKING concept. I'm hyped.
Kindly use Google if you don't understand my statement, cronos is a titan in Greek mythology, he was a race of colossal beings, in the God of war games cronos is portrayed as being enormous, almost like the giants in the trailer. The fact I have to explain this to you proves how extremely unintelligent you are.
I Apologize for not knowing every thing in the mythical world of characters.. But i have heard and seen Monkey king. Im sorry for not being knowledgeable about this at least i didn't act as if i knew
@@shabazzT i don't think you should apologies for something you dont know. it's a part of learning. i.e. as im still learning about greek and norse mythology but i wont apoligize for something i haven't learned yet.
I watched Journey to the west as a kid growing up. Still remember the days, when my grandpa would put up his VCRs (video tapes) and I would watch it non stop. Sun Wukong, a demon or stone monkey demon which wields the golden battle staff and wreaks havoc upon heaven, beats the heavenly army and declared himself the Great Sage Equal to the Heavens. No one or anything can kill him, which forced Buddha to take action to subdue him and placed a mountain on top of him to seal him. After 500 years, a monk Tang Sanzang was tasked with a mission from heaven to gather scriptures from India and bring it back to china. Knowing the journey was going to be dangerous due to the fact that demons and other supernatural stuff existed, heaven assigned him 4 disciples to protect him along the way, one of which was Wukong. After many trials and hardships, the journey was finally completed and Wukong learned many lessons along the way. He was then officially titled as the Victorious Fighting Buddha and became an official God in Heaven. That's pretty much the gist of sun wukong's legend.
I like how the game is sticking to a lot of the mythology like how Wu kong can use his hairs as clones, there’s a fight between him and some heavenly armies and shit, his cloud thing, he can shape shift, and his staff can change sizes
Fun fact: The author of "Journey to the west" also created the Nine tailed fox. They are basically from the same universe but a different timeline and story.
@@zhezhang1557 I always thought the first occurrence of the nine tailed fox was in the story of 哪吒(Ne Zha). And Ne Zha also appeared in "Journey to the west" which made me think that. My bad, should have done better research.
Chinese pantheons are accumulated in a lot of folk lore and tales for millennial. There're a lot of versions and Journey to the West definitely included a lot of characters inspired by other works and because of it's popularity, JotW is the most known of all. But all the novels written in the Ming era kinda blends together into a greater universe of gods, immortals and yaoguai. The most popular and influential are probably 封神演义、西游记、聊斋志异. What I loved about them is they're all written by different authors, yet they respect each other's work. Even if they share the same characters, they don't differ much for the most part. So it feels like they are the same character across independent works, in the same universe. You don't see that in modern works too much, if a character is used in different works, they will have distinct character and creates this discontinuity.
rade for one, the original Dragon Ball is based off of Journey to the Westc the main character Sun Wukong is a monkey king and heavily influenced Goku who is an ape and has a magical staff (Sun Wukong in Japanese is Son Goku)... you also hear the name Son Goku/Sun Wukong in other sources of anime like Naruto (4 tailed beast) and God of Highschool. Honestly its easiest to just look up on google “what animes are influenced by Journey to the West” and many things will pop up for you. Its one of the greatest/most notorious pieces of literature in Chinese history
@@rade6411 it's the story of a chinese monk who is tasked with journeying to India, hence "Journey to the West," to get Buddhist scriptures to save the world (I think). Son Wukong, also known as Son Goku in Japan, is a demon monkey that the Buddhas gave to the monk as a bodyguard. Son Wukong is pretty much the main character.
@@EliteHoopster2018 also the reason why Grandpa Gohan gave him that name, Son Goku. His real name is, ofcourse, kakarot. But since Gohan found him as a kid, with a tail and a staff, he named him Son Goku. Journey to the west is a fantastic story so its no surprise so many works were influenced by it
“土地公” (appears as an old man)is like the God of that small area/or mountain . Like each state has it’s own gold manage those small things like environment to kee everything balance. They are not so powerful like Zeus but more like the Radagast in the lord of rings. They help/guide good people with some advice to avoid or fight the bad enemies.
And I’d even argue that Luffy from One Piece is indirectly inspired by Journey to the West as well, because of the series’ Dragon Ball influence. Monkey D. Luffy, the future Pirate King. Sun Wukong, the Monkey King. Nobody can convince me that I’m wrong.
not just 4 hundred years, the myth has existed for more than a thousand years, and the setting of Journey to the West is in Tang Dynasty which is 1300 years ago. And the Character of Tang Sen who is Sun Wukong's master did exist in the Tang Dynasty and going to India for scriptures. And according to history, the story was spread after the Tang Dynasty, but it was just a story that circulated in public. However, the story was eventually organized and recreated by Wu Chengen in Ming Dynasty -- which is "Journey to the West".
to some who don't know, Son WuKong is a character from a Chinese myth novel 400 years ago called Journey to the West. In the myth, some of his powers include riding clouds, transforming (72 forms), that magical staff he wields can lengthen and shorten, he also hides it in his ears when it's tiny. When he tears off strands of his hair, each strand can turn into a clone of himself. Oh, and let's not forget he can freeze people with words. that's all i remember for the moment. but he's pretty dope.
I am honestly surprised he does not know about what Journey to The West is. Since this is CLEARLY based upon it. Regardless nice reaction to a great trailer.
Snow flake of your looking for a great explanation of the story of journey to the west watch Overly Sarcastic Production she does a great job explaining the story with adding comedy and each video is only 10 min
The way that wolf boss jumped into the ground instead of the air at his intro was pretty bad ass. Everytime something or someone comes down from a height, they usually just drop and super hero land or jump super high in the air but never have I seen something jump from ledge straight into ground. I've imagined it before but seeing it was pretty cool. I wish the devs would have destroyed some ground and structure as the beast jumped
I like how enemies get slower and more sluggish the more you hit them, it’s more realistic than the way most games do it of enemies powering up the more hurt they get
Spanning Books 1-3 of TLA, covering the light novels and side stories after the series finale (finding Zuko’s mom etc.) and then bleeding into TLOK’s storyline as well? That’d be 👌🏽
@@snowflakes107 weeb is usually someone who tries too hard to be Japanese and failing at it. As for the Journey to the West, it's a Chinese story that the original Dragon Ball was inspired from. The nimbus cloud, the power pole, Goku being a monkey, etc. I know nothing more aside from all of that.
This game looks great so far. A journey to the west myth in china, about a Buddhist monk traveling threw western asia is interesting. Also all the cloud effects around the enemies towards the end of the gameplay and you being able to ride on clouds! It's also a good thing all the enemies and cloud effects are dropping frames sense the gameplay may actually turn out to be this way, and if it doesn't i still hope it's promising on it's own. It all looks really promising though this game probably won't be released for a while(most likely 2022)so that means it will definitely be on next gen and pc, though there mindset now is focusing on Xbox one and Ps4. I'm intrigued and i'm glad a lot of people are too. Especially considering the fact that Game Science Studios, a chinese team of 40 people that were formerly tencent developers. Glad they have there chance to shine. (Hopefully your hearts ok too,Afro.)
it's funny how I'm not seeing anybody talk about that awesome game mechanic wear when you defeat a certain type of character you're able to transform into them for a limited amount of time I think that's going to keep the game play fresh plus you already see that they have a lot of sauce with the presentation!
They are coming on next gen and pc the director says he needs more people to help with the heavy lifting there a 30 member team that just showed us something amazing we just need to continue to support them and we will have them on next gen and seeing the video on ign just hit 1.5 million I think they are going to do just fine not to mention big time youtubers reactions to it
FYI, at 12:04, the one blocking the main character's attack, judging from the ancient chinese wordings on the staff "如意金箍棒“, that character is most likely the Fake Monkey King Wukong(six eared Macaque), on their journey to the west, there are a fake one called Six Eared Macaque "六耳猕猴" that are so powerful that Wukong and the macaque would fight endlessly for decades without a clear victor, there are rumors saying that the one slayed is actually Wukong when they seek advise from Buddha to identify who is the fake one . I think the game's story might starts with the true monkey king Wu Kong taking the revenge on the Six Ear Macaque. And in 6:48 or the end of original trailer, it is written "白骨之后,重走西游”(The journey to the west continues after the White Bone Demonesses chapter) the phrase seems to derive from a popular phrase "白骨之后,再无战斗神"(The MMO game (战斗神) changed after White Bone Demon chapter), the message probably sent from the developer team to honour an old classic MMO game called 战斗神 that has been brought down by Tencent and the game has been gone downhill with heavy monetization after that, which upsets a lot of loyal player back then. This message seems to say "We will continue the legacy" of the once fallen great game. And some of the staff of this new game's dev team is coming from the 战斗神 game dev. So i doubt this team will ever bend the knee to Tencent again after Tencent ruined their original game.
Im honestly suprised as Afro doesnt know the Legend that was Monkey King, like because of my love for the Dragonball(being the best story out of all of the dragonball series), after having done a bit more research on the story and finding that the story that inspired one of my fav anime was even greater, I myself couldnt help but fall in love with Journey to the west and troll that was Son Wukong.
I love when ppl see things from journey to the west and instantly make the dbz references. So for those of you who don't know, sun wukong is known as the Monkey King, who goku is based off of. The elongating staff, the cloud that he rides, all comes from "journey to the west." I recommend picking it up or reading other novels with its basis, as its all pretty good
The most famous scene of Wukong is when wukong decides to destroy the heaven, a person asked”where are you going, wukong? “Destroy the heaven” “what if you cannot come back? “So I cannot come back” Wukong has brave to challenge the whole heaven just himself, because he and his monkeys didn’t get the fair treatment. Since I was a kid, Wukong is my hero.
this whole game, you gotta watch that "ugly ass movie" called "Journey to the west" that was made in 1986, that movie was a child hood of all the 8x 90s and early 2000s in Asia and Southeast Asia. Only those who watched over 60 episodes of that movie can understand. My prediction is that "Old Monkey" you see telling the story of the journey to the west is actually " Sage Wukong ", who had completed the journey, the song he sung at the end of the video is pretty much like the theme song of the movie but I'm not sure cuz of his poor voice. A little more facts, all of his abilities are actually from the movie. Bee transforming, the bar from his ear, "shadow clone jutsu" from his hair, even that smoke from the ground of that old man ( the spirit of that land ) when he vanished underground was from the movie also. You might not like the movie due to the advanced technology nowadays, but only by knowing it can you fully enjoy the game. The fight against the great heaven generals, against Yiang Jan ( the 3 eyed general who is pretty much like Heimdall, can see the truth and almost anything ), Wukong's fight against Yiang Jan is gotta be lit, their fight was almost like Naruto and Sasuke ( Shadow Clone and Vision Power ).Anyway, crazy nostalgia vibe, so exciting that they make the game looks great and not too much even when the details are from long long time ago.
I think Sun Wukong that appeared later on is actually the REAL Sun Wukong, the novel mentioned that there is two Sun Wukongs equal in power that neither could kill so the "real" Sun Wukong called the Buddha and killed the "fake" one.
actually it was a very complicated novel which described complicated human relations and individualism vs bureaucratic system. The reason why it became popular in kids was because of a TV series shot in 1986 by Chinese Central TV.
Yooooooo I never expected this game to be this good. Edit: it’s really cool seeing what they kept and changed and what could potentially be in the game later (I’m still in chapter 1 as of writing this)
My friend, as a Chinese, I have a suggestion that you can read China's Journey to the West. This novel is the story background of the game, the story that every Chinese knows, my childhood. Of course, Black Myth Wu Kong's plot is original, probably a conspiracy theory about the novel.
That's him, who he was or the legend he will become. This is an inwards journey as much as it is an outward one. The mythology and lore of Wukong is an awesome and lengthy one that dates back hundreds of years.
Dam you ever see that this "footage doesn't represent final gameplay" message and think nah bro please don't change a thing! I hope this is a next gen only game so they keep all that, like the destructible statues and the move where you send all the dudes after the wolf. Bad ass!
Finally a game based authentically on the Journey to the West Chinese mythology. Dragon Ball was inspired by this legendary Chinese tale. Sun Wu Kong is 🔥 🔥 🔥
One of the 72 kinds of changes in Monkey King’s abilities does not mean turning into 72 kinds of animals, turning into animals, plants, and various inorganic substances are just one of the 72 kinds of changes, the name is "false shape"
Hope your are better bro. I see why the doctor told to cut back your videos you always be so hype and pumped doing a video. You're always entertaining to watch.

The original story is about the monkey, so powerful yet refuse to be controlled by other gods, ended up protecting a monk to a journey to the west to get some scripts. After that journey, he ended up being a Buddha himself. This game’s story is based on this and expanded, saying that there might be another version of the story. The journey might be just a fairy tale or the monkey was dead or there is another evil monkey.

The shadow clone jutsu we know in NARUTO was actually inspired by the original Wukong,
In the book "Journey to the West", Wukong was a disciple of a great sage who taught him all these abilities,
one of his famous tricks is to pluck a handful of his own fur and imbue magic into it by blowing them out to make his clones and outnumber his foes.
Btw, he can also apply his morph abilities to his plucked hair like turning it into objects, tools or even clones of other beings (can't clone their ability though) at his will, which is totally OP :P
And when the spell is over, all the plucked hair returns back to his body.
he can also imbue more magic/power into a hair to create a clone of himself, with some memories intact too
Exactly. A lot of popular anime are inspired by Journey to the West.

At that time, players of the game frequently posted a phrase online "After White Bones Witch, there is no more Asura."
The final screen of the trailer shows 8 big characters near the top: "After White Bones Witch, revisit the Journey to the West".
It is a subtle nod to Asura and perhaps a dig at Tencent. This game truly is like the continuation of the Journey to the West game they wanted to make back then, but was prevented from doing so by Tencent.

He can also shapeshift, grow/shrink, grow and shrink any weapons that he uses (bo/monkey staff mainly)and uses them as hairpins, and is considered the most powerful of the gods since he has learned all of the gods' techniques and has actually beat all of their asses multiple times, which turned him to an outcast and resulted in him being petrified in the center of a mountain.
so at 5.47 he shrinks that boss staff and used it as a hairpin how cool !!
Journey to the west is a novel written by Wu cheng en, Wukong is not real, not a myth, and he is not one of the Buddha.
So I guess we all know what's gonna happen at the end of this game now then...

"So we got Ben Ten, The Monkey, what else can you do?"
Wukong: Well, I've got 72 transformations and you've only seen two so far.

The reason he can transform is Cause Sun Wukong has the 72 transformations that allow him to turn into other creatures
Also the staff he got was shrunken in Size by him and placed in his ears
More reason why it makes sense that Kakarot from DBZ has over 23 Transformations.
transform is one of his 72 abilities XD
Goku has over 20 transformations and practically one technique with like 💯 variations 🤣 (and yes, I know Goku has more than just the Kamehameha, chill out).

Is this game based off on his journey to the west or after

The elongating staff, the cloud that he rides, all comes from "journey to the west." I recommend picking it up or reading other novels with its basis, as its all pretty good
Fun Fact: the first person usually dosent comment
I always thought it was supposed to be the first person to comment not the first person to view
Thats not how it works..
Love the spelling
They do sent a comment or they don't?
Journey to the west: the original shounen anime
The most famous scene of Wukong is when wukong decides to destroy the heaven, a person asked”where are you going, wukong? “Destroy the heaven” “what if you cannot come back? “So I cannot come back” Wukong has brave to challenge the whole heaven just himself, because he and his monkeys didn’t get the fair treatment. Since I was a kid, Wukong is my hero.

Isnt this what what BIRTHED DRAGON BALL
Indeed
Not really, just one of Dragonball's many inspirations.
Smh this mans keeps saying nimbus this shadow clone that when everything came from wukong first the man that singlehandedly took heaven
You good?
He's saying it probably because he doesn't know these things and it looks like something from an anime
Wdym took heaven ?? My bad I don’t know anything about wukong
Zivine sun wukong liked stirring shit up in heaven
Monkey king might be one of the coldest gods in mythology. God of high school put him in it
this whole game, you gotta watch that "ugly ass movie" called "Journey to the west" that was made in 1986, that movie was a child hood of all the 8x 90s and early 2000s in Asia and Southeast Asia.
It was a book way before it was a movie
@@sityxx1829 should I even reply to that seriously ?
nice im gonna have to watch that now
wasnt my intention to antagonize just spreading info
I think Sun Wukong that appeared later on is actually the REAL Sun Wukong, the novel mentioned that there is two Sun Wukongs equal in power that neither could kill so the "real" Sun Wukong called the Buddha and killed the "fake" one.
“That is disgusting, that is disgusting, that is disgusting” I can not even explain how deceased I am🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was thinking the same thing. Shit was gross
Out of no where? who heard the story, every asian kid for the last 400 years, even DBZ came from this story...
indeed, but he's saying this GAME came out of nowhere, meaning no one was expecting it
Each and every Chinese must have watched the tv series for at least three times.
And God of high-school
actually it was a very complicated novel which described complicated human relations and individualism vs bureaucratic system. The reason why it became popular in kids was because of a TV series shot in 1986 by Chinese Central TV.
True
Yooooooo I never expected this game to be this good.
Edit: it’s really cool seeing what they kept and changed and what could potentially be in the game later (I’m still in chapter 1 as of writing this)
Ayyyyoooo He turned into the first boss he went against bro
I really hope they nail Wukong's distinct and unique personality... it's unlike any modern vision of what a "Hero" would/should act... lol....
10:45 The wolf gets burnt
Afro: that's hot, that's hot
Manz is a SAGE EAQUAL TO HEAVEN LITERALLY
Self proclaimed Great sage equal to heaven
I’m buying this game day one, it looks AMAZING!
SpiderShinobi17 u should maybe wait the game studio making it has fumbled games before wait a few weeks for reviews before u buy
If etika is still alive, he would've blowed up seeing this trailer
I’m so glad I’m learning Chinese this year so I can play this game for “learning purposes”
机智
hahaha nice purpose cool
thats cool
My friend, as a Chinese, I have a suggestion that you can read China's Journey to the West. This novel is the story background of the game, the story that every Chinese knows, my childhood. Of course, Black Myth Wu Kong's plot is original, probably a conspiracy theory about the novel.
excuse for your mom?
This just popped up on my feed lol
That's him, who he was or the legend he will become. This is an inwards journey as much as it is an outward one. The mythology and lore of Wukong is an awesome and lengthy one that dates back hundreds of years.
This is based of the Chinese legend of the God, The Monkey King
Is a Chinese novel not a legend
@@JohnL301 it's both
@Gibby Gibbstein no it’s just a novel
@@NPixel7558 It was originally a novel, but the popularity of the figure lead him to having his own shrines and representation as a trickster God.
Privian no it’s the opposite legends first then novel.
the monkey king is the story dragon ball comes from
yo, it's been 3 years now, it will come out tomorrow bro!
Sun Wu Kong is 🔥 🔥 🔥
The Monkey King basically has the ability to transform into anything. And any other objects.
or using his hair to create clones :) normal human has 100,000 hair on his/her head. And Wukong is a monkey lol, the hairy-faced monk
One of the 72 kinds of changes in Monkey King’s abilities does not mean turning into 72 kinds of animals, turning into animals, plants, and various inorganic substances are just one of the 72 kinds of changes, the name is "false shape"
@@nehcooahnait7827 I already know that I just didn't mention it
"deadass super saiyan" little does he know wu kong is the inspiration of goku
I know right, what a clown
I hope afro knows that this is the monkey king and not it's own work of fiction lmao
Hope your are better bro. I see why the doctor told to cut back your videos you always be so hype and pumped doing a video. You're always entertaining to watch.
What ur seeing is the monkey king he’s dumb op and as powerful as a god
Literally beat all gods but Tathagata
OP doesn't describe him well enough, he's a supreme being among deities
Well, in the story to the Journey to the West and other adaptions, Wukong is considered equal to heaven and that’s why he’s OP AF.
*THIS GAME LOOKS SO FIRE*
btw afro you lowkey trippin on this "what else it has to offer" take. It went from a Souls-like to God of War 2018 to Shadow of the Colossus to Dynasty Warriors. And you can ride nimbus and transform. Like what else do really want? 😂
Fr shit look fire
It has so much from games i love
Fr,
i saw souls-like and was like YE.
I want Elden Ring
The original story is about the monkey, so powerful yet refuse to be controlled by other gods, ended up protecting a monk to a journey to the west to get some scripts. After that journey, he ended up being a Buddha himself. This game’s story is based on this and expanded, saying that there might be another version of the story. The journey might be just a fairy tale or the monkey was dead or there is another evil monkey.
He didn’t help the monk because he wanted to
Missin some details here mate

sekiro: exists
Black Myth Wukong: im about to end this mans whols career
Sadly whether the game would be finished, it's a doubt.
@@1308HK It'll probably be out late next year or 2022.
@@yaz2928 No, they said at least 3 years, under the condition if having enough manpower. If a game developer tells you that, you better count it 2 to 3 more years. Considering how bad the gaming industry in China is.... Super super bad.
@@1308HK Correct me if I'm wrong but haven't they been working on this since 2017? The game devs aren't beholden to a large corporation so their estimate may be safer.
Afro bro been watching you for the last couple years bro. Keep your health up and put it before anything. Health is wealth my friend
This game reminds me of Asura's Wrath where its all just for untamed wild badassery with a bit of difficulty
And im here for that
No, Asura was based on this. Journey to the West was like Lord of the rings, man. It has inspired so many great works of literature later on.
