Nice! It's nice to see that you explore other areas as well. It's great that you show the effect of the additional light as a reminder of what it contributes with in the final shot. While looking at the video it once again strikes me how peaceful the results are 🙂 See you at F8 with the socks on 😁
Thanks! I think it's easy to get a bit bored with one location, so I do like the mix it up a bit. Of course it has nothing to do with the fact that this week's location has a coffee and cake shop about 300m from where I was shooting 🤓. Interesting that you mention peaceful - it always amazes me how you can be a few hundred metres from 'civilisation' and yet not see a single other person for an entire day. Very relaxing! Also, you can't beat a decent pair of Nordic socks 👍
Good job Mark. Enjoyed watching your video. Doing photography last few years, one of my favorite stuff is macro. Keep doing what you do, i will fallow.
Mark I have been out today photographing Fungi and I followed your technique to the latter and it has worked a treat. Taking anything between 60 to 100 shots but only stacking approx 28 images.
That’s brilliant, I’m glad it’s worked for you! My goal with the videos is to share techniques that work for me in the hope that they’re useful to others, so thanks for taking the time to let me know!
@@TrevorHupton I use both. I've got a couple of 1K that I use mostly for holding lights, and a 3K that I often use for holding a second camera. You can put a camera on the 1K, but I find the 3K better for that because it's just that bit more solid. I've got an aluminium 5K as well, but I find it a bit heavy for carrying around all day, so that rarely goes out. The one I'm using in to hold the light this video is the 1K.
@@TrevorHupton I use a few different ones. I have two SmallRig P96L LEDs which are super light and compact, and really quite bright. Sometimes they're too bright even at the minimum setting, so I've also got a couple of Aputure MC LEDs, which which can go very dim indeed, which is often what I want if I have the lights really close to the subject. I very rarely use any of them on more than about 10% brightness, and often down as low as 1%.
great videos mate. are you letting the z6 to do the stack and it creates final image or does it save each image so you can stack in helicon etc ? I do a lot of hand held stacks but might try more tripod stuff .
Cheers, thank you. I'm doing my stacking later in Helicon Focus. I don't think the Z6 is clever enough to do the stack in-camera! I've never tried hand held stacks - unfortunately the Z6 doesn't shoot fast enough to that. I'm guessing that maybe you're using something like an Olympus that shoots much faster?
@MarkMorganPhotography no used to use z6 and works fine hand held on continuous I have z8 now. Thanks will give this ago for future stacks. I'm keen to find some fungi now
Hi Mark I have been using Adobe Photoshop to stack my images and it is ok. Do you use Helicon focus and is it much better. Finally which one do I buy plus you need to renew the license yearly I think.
Hi Trevor, yes, I use Helicon Focus - for my own uses I find it better for stacks that include more images. I have the Helicon Pro version, which I chose because it allows you to save stacks as DNG files, giving more flexibility for adjusting later. There is a yearly version as you say, but you can also get a 'lifetime' version if you prefer. The lifetime version is quite a lot more expensive - I seem to remember it's about 4x the annual cost. I also seem to remember there's a 30 day trial version as well, so you could give it a good go before you decide whether to buy. There are other options - a lot of people seem to like Zerene Stacker, but Helicon is the only one I've really got any experience with.
Mark the Mushroom Master 👍 Beautiful pic as always and great presentation
Ha! I might pinch that! Glad you liked the video 👍
I think the lucky Norwegian socks worked their magic Mark. Some great shots and thoroughly enjoyed your descriptions of the process. Thanks, Andy
Thanks very much! And yes, you can't beat a good pair of Nordic socks 🙂. Cheers!
Brilliant as always, beautiful images and great explanations along the way. Always enjoy your videos. 🙂
Thank you very much, I'm glad you're enjoying them! 🤓👍
Another great adventure, beautiful photos. Please Crack On!
Thanks very much indeed. And absolutely, crack on!

Mark do you use Joby GorillaPod 3K or the 1K and why

@@MarkMorganPhotography I have now ordered a Joby gorilla tripod 1k. My LED's are not powerful enough so what make and model are you using
