I've watched Egyptian geese a lot in earlier years. Yes, very territorial. And very loyal to their partners too. Awesome birds. I've watched the coots too and the Cape Weavers. They build the nest over water and 'upside down' as a defense against snakes. Though I've seen them also build very high up in trees and poles too.
Wow, that looked really nice and peaceful! I'd be sad to leave too! Reminds me of a place in Malaysia near Mount Kinabalu, where I woke up to the sound of birds in a remote resort.

This was one of our favourite overnight places on all our trips, we just didn't want to leave the next morning! 🌊🤩
