I really like the construction and the whole video as they were very well done, but I do have one comment about the shield itself. The Scandinavian shields were very thin, ~5 mm at the center, and tapered to ~3mm at the edge. This was both for ease of use, and also the way it was used- they were works of art, but also made to be damaged. The thickness was enough to stop most sword strikes, and a strike from any weapon at the time at an angle, but also thin enough at the edge as to cause a blade to bury itself, and become stuck. This became crucial and sometimes lead to victory both on the battlefield and in the Holmgang.
Beautiful work but won’t be durable enough to survive in a fight or battle. It would have to be layered with linen, or something to last. The shield itself could survive 2 maybe 3 full contact battle with a axe but nothing over. Axes are meant to chop wood so not having layer protection will prevent it to be as durable like that arrow head that went through, if more arrows where shot the wood would crack and split. Awesome work tho but it’s very much a wall peace unless u layer it and give it a rawhide rim.
Yeah I bought the same centerpiece online also. I'm making my shield the exact same way and was really impressed by your handle. Any idea of what size and kind of bolts you used? Why not put some leather on perimeter of the Shield? It's historically accurate and keep the boards together
You are only missing a cloth or leather cover. I mean a sheild is a sheild but drenching a cloth in glue and carefully putting it on the wood befor bolting everything together made the shield last longer.
keep your finger off that trigger. Should have put those steel straps on the outside of the shield. That type of wood will not stand up to blows. Good ideas though.
Out of curiosity did you derive any inspiration from a TH-camr called ZNA, he made a shield somewhat similar to this a few years ago, with some differences. Im just curious because i also heavily enjoy his content, just like how i enjoy yours.
@@StoneTheCr0w Where is your source for that? You could have talked to me like a normal human being instead of being a jack. You do realize that axes were and still are great at breaking raw wood?
lol when ANTIFA makes shields. too small, too heavy, doesn't meet requirements for todays battlespace. you got a pistol? thats cute, I have a rifle and it'll punch a hole in 1/4 steel like butter. what do you think it'll do to that wood?
I cringed so hard when he was holding the 1911. no trigger discipline and when are you going to use a wooden shield in a gun fight? Even if the opposer misses and still goes through the shield you now have wooden shards literally right in your face
0:10 hey! Trigger discipline!
First thing I noticed too.
Thank you
TriGGer DisCiplIne
Really great production on the video :) must took lot of work! Great job
Thanks dude
Omg adam ! Huge fan , how are u so good at knofe throwing like wtf also zach... how u doin 😚
Post apocalyptic Viking, NICE!

I gotta say... thanks for that info. It never dawned on me that a shield could be treated like a single battle use item, but it makes tons of sense
Ah yes the classic duo
M1911 and Viking shield
That’s a nice 1911
And the beat selection slaps
Taking based stickman to a whole new level
I really like that random bird noise in the soundtrack
He's returned with a nice shield great job bro keep it up
the shot with the pistol. YUHHHHHH boiiiiii nice
looks awesome. how thick is the wood you used ?
list of supplies?
4:33 Hello Mr.Bug!
10 seconds in and I was already mad. KEEP that finger straight and off the trigger until ready to fire!!!!!!
Where did you buy the metal bowl
Thank goodness I got here before the gun nuts screaming about trigger discipline arrived. Good stuff, dude.
They'll be here soon lol. The gun was clear when I was carrying it.
@@makeorbreak6674 Of course, but that won't stop them. :V
Make or Break doesn’t matter
@@hoohoosier i agree
Great video, I started making my shield today, and it helped me a lot! save from Brasil!
Based stickman.
Can you make a steel dagger from Skyrim?
HE HAS COME BACK
Trigger discipline my dude
where did you get the middle , metal part from ?
Looks great! Lol the arrow went through the shield
Well the very tip did, unless you were pressing your eye up to the backside of the shield I think you'd be fine lol
What kind of disk was used to sand away the glue squeezeout?
Awesome! What did you use for the center cap?
Really awesome work. Well done. Maybe just a little more music, so it doesn't get boring.
Overall, they did a great job!

Sad boy viking. It's a good looking shield, despite having screws and metal bars on it.
I like the shield, but like this it only is a decorative piece, if u would try to wield it, there will be a nut sticking in ur arm lol
Buenísimo...gracias por el video.....saludos

Where did you get the center piece from.? Thanks
@@sweetpeapearllynn3715 they sell tons of different options for the center piece and antique bolts on Amazon. Pretty cheap too!
Beautiful 💕
i dont remember the vikings shooting people up with a glock
In my opinion it looked better without the blowtorch treatment
Make a SAMURAI SWORDS!
Where dis you go?
What wood did you use for the shield? Great video btw!
Red oak. 1/2" thicc
Thank you :)
What song is this
A little water could easily wipe away the wet glue before dri
Thanks nice project
My cracca
Whats up with the Gun and the fireworks??
8:53 - everyone's thoughts: anaki
I remember you saying something about making your own knife making business or something. Any updates on that?
Medieval Captain America
Did you see the king of random referenced your channel in their most recent video?
I did, that was pretty cool

yo dude where are you, oyu have been away for quite a while
Bulletproof it
You the Based God brodie keep this shit up!!
So my guy brought the hardest part to make online then he glued some ply together ad put some drills in it bruh

Was to thick and heavy for a propper Shield, but nice video
Where did bro go, he hasn't posted in 4 years
Make a khopesh. And/or something like Noob Saibot’s weapon from Mortal Kombat 11. One handed scythe.
What was that pipe that blew air onto the wood?
You should try to make the Robin R birdarang from Titans!
Construction drawings and specs would be helpful. Nice modern take on an ancient concept!
dshodaw not ancient, just medieval
Vikings and 1911s
Lol a gun and a shield?
Just why?
Nice video but that music does not fit at all!!!
Looking good bro its oliver btw off snapchat
Thanks dude
@@makeorbreak6674 i didnt even know u had finished it u should have told me 😂
Now I am no history professor or anything, but the vikings in the early middle ages did not have semi automatic fire arms with their shields.

I know of his channel but I try to stay as original as possible. If I take ideas from someone else I'd be sure to mention their channel
You should make mek'leth from phantom forces(roblox). Lol
Bill Christian Cedeño useless piece of trash knife
You mean, the Klingon Mek'leth from Star Trek?
Finger is not where it belongs 🙄
Oh...Viking craft for antifa now huh?
A real viking shield would have thick rawhide or leather on the outside to protect the wood from being smashed with an axe.
