Kuai Liang didn't travel to the Netherrealm and fucked up everyone to get Shinnok's amulet.
Bi-Han did.
Kuai Liang killed Scorpion at the battle of Armageddon in the original timeline. And in MK9 he beats him in the Kolusseum.
Bi Han killed Scorpion in MKM. He beats him again in the prison cells. He loses to Scorpion in the Netherrealm where his powers are weakened since he's a human, and Scorp's powers are enhanced since he's a spectre.
Scorpion almost killed Kuai in his chapter back in MKX. And they weren't in the Netherrealm. You decide.
I think both kinda even each other out. Depends on how you look at it.
Kaui liang is just the better out of the brothers, I aline myself to light and to good... plus he's more interesting than Bi han, Bi han was a badass beating scorpion numerous times... and he would have stuck to Lin kuei rules like, his dialogue with frost... aahahahaha.
But besides that one not even problem, but one faulty I have.... the not letting women into my clan for.. differing resolve.
I am on the side of KUAI as he did one thing or two things wrong.
1: let frost and try to make that thing his protegè.
2: let in a bunch of women.
3: Lost once to scorpion.

Frost is a living proof. Women tend to let power go into their heads. All the power, all the privileges and advantages, but NONE of the responsibility, none of the cons and none of the disadvantages. Look at the feminists. They want more power, more rights, more this and that *WITHOUT* consequences and accountability. That's the mindset of a fucking TYRANT. Of a child.
If Frost was ever the Grandmaster, or "Grandmistress" the clan will destroy itself from within.
As far as Kuai goes, the only thing I can say when it comes to Frost being his star pupil, is that he's no mind reader and is probably feeling some degree of shame about Frost's predicament. Maybe he could've acknowledged the signs when Frost was getting a little too greedy.
And Scorpion's MK4 ending is canon so he lost to Scorp twice.
Both Sub Zero's have their flaws. I like Kuai because he's the all around good guy. Also, there's not many people with that kind of integrity.
I like Bi-Han not just because he's a beast, but also because he's not afraid to get his hands dirty to do what is more or less logical. He'll tell you the harsh truth that you don't want to hear, but need to. That's the impression I get for now at least :D
