This is a dangerous illusion because the results are in after six decades. The results are poverty, undeveloped infrastructure, unskilled people, mass unemployment, low wages, low Per Capita GDP, and export of cheap raw materials. President Museveni is right. The transformation which he talks about was discussed in 1963. It was supposed to include change from raw materials to manufactured goods. Traitors are within.

I think he identified the main problem - neo colonial civil servants and government officials - who put blocks everywhere in the paths of local innovation, production and ingenuity. These are people who should be encouraged to emigrate, so that they can live where their hearts are. Then, the rest of the proverbial "lazy Africans" can get down, and work for themselves without hindrance. You might be amazed at how fast the so called "laziness" will evaporate.
