Thanks chris , definatly will . Workibg on another as we speak and should ve done by mid dec :) slow going currently juggling life , family and getting out tp the shop :) fk just spent all last week cleaning up again , it feels good to walk around in there again :)
@ I hear ya, man. I wish I could work in my wood shop all day but I can’t. Nobody in America wants to pay good money for well built furniture. I like the aluminum casting process you do. Can you also do that with steel?
yes its done with anything hotter than alum . I wish my foy dry was hotter . I have so many ideas to build steel projects but not enough heat or time :)
Great style in your opening! Matches my philosophy, "The more honest we are results proportionally in the more useful positive result of the feedback we receive."
Thanks for the walk around. I did the black tape over the last digits on my DRO also. Stock organization is always a problem because of all the shapes, sizes, and lengths.
Hey tom glad you liked it , just watched yours from a few years back but noticed you have upgraded the shop since then . Is there a video of a up to date Hill Top Shop ? th-cam.com/video/7Mood3danvA/w-d-xo.html
Bit slow getting to this Ryan but I am curious as to why you choose to use a phase converter to power your 3 phase motors rather than a VFD. Keep up the good work Ryan
With all the machines swapping over each machine to vfd would be pricey and labour intencive , there are phase converters that you can get the electricaly cpnvert the power to 3 phase as well but you aparently lose hp or efficency .. this is what i was told . The price for rotary for me was cheap comparativly and the transformers where cheap as well secpnd hand . Just had to research how to check them to see if they where still good
Thanks for responding so quick Ryan. I understand, too bad about the cost issues, I put VFD's on my lathe and mill and absolutely love them, variable speed control, adjustable braking etc and they physically take up minimal space (my shop if pretty tight as well)👍👍
Hahha . So true , but been spending some time in the shop cleaning up and now I can see the work bench. Although im sure it will not last long till i get some projects on it .
titan out of salmon arm has the best prices . I have a new sheet i can sell you for 2020 prices not 2022 if you are out this way . I bought a couple extra im sure you saw :)
With the DRO you should be able to change decimal place to show how many places you see instead of electrical tape. I got 3 of them from The Drostore and they all can be changed.
Thanks for sharing! It gave me some ideas for my machine tooling. I have some hard board that I would like to cut up. I’m thinking a rack of drawers like your green drawers in the first shop. This Is to go in a mobile workshop trailer. Likely to hold drill bits and screws and bolts, etc. Any further information around that would be appreciated- but I understand, it is just drawers!
Glad. Lucky for you there is a video on the green drillbit holder. To do it again i would have not used particle board and used wood for the whole thing as it sags a bit under the weight of the large drill bits . Here is the video th-cam.com/video/uciyx-6tEN8/w-d-xo.html
@@Wrighmachining oh I was specifically talking about the drawers, I’m not sure what you have in them. I will be using them for drill bits and misc. see about 6:10 in this video. Sorry for any confusion I caused! I’ll dig through your channel a bit more, might have missed that video
Oh , yes that . It came with the shop . I can send you pics how the drawers are built if you like Email me at ryanwright368@gmail.com and ill send you some pics this weekend Its full of everything from bolts , sand paper to electrial parts i salvaged .
Your shop reminds me of my shop, I’m also lucky to have a patient girlfriend. When you do crazy projects and often like we do a shop can only stay clean for a very short time, it’s just a fact of physics lol
Hahah . Yes creativity comes at a cost . Im starting to be more selective with my salvaging parts and steel . I spend more time processing it when i get it amd make hard desisions on what to keep . Ps you have a good one if shes tolerating the yard amd shop treasure . My wife and i have been togeather for 15 years now. I told her when we first got togeather she will always know where i am . Out in the shop or in the house with her .
Awesome shop, Man! I hope you continue making videos. I enjoy watching and hearing your knowledge

My shop is 40×40 with 14' ceilings and I'm packed also. Looks like a working shop to me...

Lots of cool stuff man! do you know of a good place to pick up steel plate up there? 1/8 to 1/4 stuff

Hey man great looking shop, EDIT: it’s a right man’s man’s shop lol. I never even realised I wasn’t subbed. An extra sub for you lol.
Thanks. A work in progress like most of ours. I believe the saying is a messy shop is a sign of a strong mind. Hope that's true lol
Ok it's been 12 months so show us how much or little you've done to the workshop
Man your right! . I'll get a short out for you. Been crazy busy in life. Sorry buddy
No, no I dont have a corner that looks like that. I share a two stall garage. Can't afford to lose any space.
Haha, every inch counts for sure. keeps the memory sharp as well. The only problem is I own 10/tape measures and only know where one is.
