This video is very interesting & motivating, definitely very useful for the dancers who aspire to get there. I’m just happy to know the story of a Royal Caribbean dancer like you, although I’m not in the dance field but I’m curious and really enjoy watching your vids, I even double tap a few times to re-watch this a few seconds back haha and again congrats on your 1k subs! Love watching your videos. I used to work on cruise ships in the early 90’s and it was the best year of my life!
Only regret is that I didn’t not do it longer. I was cruise staff and was out of Aruba doing Panama Canal and Sanblas islands. Your videos take me back to that exciting time. Enjoy every second and take lots of video and photos.
Ironically, my husband and I are booked on odyssey on the 15th of September, will you still be on?

This was interesting to hear even if i am not any kind of performer. 🙂 Saw the video where you and your friends took appearance / fitness photos, are those the same as your audition photos?

Thank you so much!! To audition, you bring your own headshot. Fitness photos are only sent to the office once a month during your contract to make sure your appearance is the same as how they casted you :)

I work out in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico on an oil platform so we don’t do much dancing but we are away from home half of the year. You have a great attitude and seem to be a good hearted person with all your advice and helping others achieve what they want. I’m only one person but you have a new subscriber;-)

I found your videos today and you have such a wonderful energy about you. Glad to have you joined you so early in your cruise journey :) I have a question: are there many plus size people in the cast? I'm a singer and though I'm healthy, I am overweight and fear that I won't be allowed due to that :(
Hi welcome to my channel! Glad you enjoy my videos!
There’s not in my cast, but that doesn’t mean plus size is not welcome! There’s so many singing jobs out there and you never know what they’re looking for! I personally don’t think it matters as much for a singer as it would for a dancer, based on the history of how I see shows being casted. But don’t think of being plus size as a reason not to audition!

Hey love the video. Im 17 now I'll be graduating high school next year and being a commercial dancer in the US is what i wanna do with my life. Being an indonesian there isnt much opportunities for dance jobs here so i wanna move out of indoensia as soon as i graduate. Im thinking being a cruise dancer is a step towards my goal in a way bcs i have no idea how i can vome to the US and get a job legally 😅😅 i mena i can get a tourist visa but then what? so maybe i need to build up my resume first so i can get an artist visa. Do you have any cruise audition recommendations that accept dancers from all around the globe?? Thanks

I was curious if you will do another contract? Or are you not sure yet?
I think it’s normal till the end to feel kind of “ stuck “ as you put it.. you miss things like driving your car and other things you can do on land and can’t do at sea. But then a few weeks go by and you will be missing all your crew like crazy. You will miss it. Anyway I was just curious if you will keep going?
I hope I do! I’m going to make a video soon about what I’ll be up to after this contract. But as of right now I hope to keep traveling and open myself up to new experiences and contracts!
hey do the casting directors at auditions actually watch your showreels and request to see them, and what do you do with your show reel / where do you send them? if that makes any sense ahha
yes! so for royal caribbean, they have a website where you make a casting profile and that is where you upload your showreel! I don’t work for casting so I don’t know the specifics but they always ask for showreels so I assume they watch them!
Would you say that they are heavy on a certain style? Like if you don’t have much hip hop experience would that be detrimental or it wouldn’t really matter because they are more contemporary/ jazz focused?
There’s so many shows in different styles! So it’s possible you could be casted in shows with your strongest styles and where you’d fit best!
What made you pick Royal Caribbean and not other cruise ships like Disney?
I knew Royal was the best fit for me by how it all worked out & also loving the energy, shows, and itinerary I was offered! but I am open to different opportunities and am planning to put myself out there for other companies in the future!
I know this is your first contract with a cruise ship line; do you think you'll renew your contract or various contracts for cruise ships?

aw that’s great, thanks for watching!! I auditioned for Royal 2x but I’d been auditioning for years for different companies :) I’ve probably done at least a dozen for different cruise dance jobs!
