The availability of sheet music for this piece has inspired me to take up piano again 24 years after quitting.

This channel inspired me to keep learning piano. I even purchased a Roland rd-2000. Piano playing has also helped with my guitar. After playing a piece on the piano, I play the notes on the guitar and on the future I will play the bass cleff part on a bass.

Seems like such a simple song, and in many ways I suppose it is, but trying to get all the layers to come through when played by a single pianist... Now it's a very difficult song. Good Job.
I feel like this song sounds simple to the everyday listener, but once you really listen to it and hear all the subtle effects and silent notes, it’s truly a masterpiece
@@Rellemann23 i confirm, i m playing piano for many years and I can tell you that is very difficult. Not because of layers but also because it isn’t simple! It’s a real musical masterpiece with complex harmony and many other things that I cannot describe. For me it s one of the greatest piece/song ever written.
I'm sorry, in which world exactly this song seems "such a simple song?" 😂 Even to the casual listener. No common chord sequence. Lots of solos. Lots of sections, even just in the intro. Maybe a Gershwin passing by could have thought that... maybe.
Try just that left hand and to have the exact same tension and volume for almost 3 minutes straight.

I've been a fan of VK since her System Of A Down cover about 7 or 9 years ago. SHE. STILL. NEVER. DISSAPOINTS.
I remember losing a friend of mine to suicide in 2018. We had been using drugs together and a few months after I moved away to get clean he took his life. One night I was sitting alone in the basement of my sober house when 'Shine on You Crazy Diamond' came on the grainy radio and it made me remember my friend. I felt such a catharsis listening to this and thinking of him. We still love you, Henry! You will not be forgotten.
