if matty d gets penalized for forcing byron below the yellow, then buescher gets penalized for forcing hamlin down. Hamlin was in the same position when he came back up but he advanced his car to become side by side with byron and matty d. You CANNOT advance your position below the yellow and even though hamlin stayed in the same place, he moved his car forward where he was not side by side when he was forced down there, but became side by side after he came back up. Ty dillon shouldve won.

No and the reason is simple in the 2nd race of the 2016 season Carl edwards and Kevin harvick had a photo finish at Phoenix. I’m a Hamlin fan but no we can’t say that cause it’s not true
Hamlin shouldn’t have won. Neither should have Dibenedetto because he forced Byron below. Nascar, just remove the yellow line rule, I don’t know if there was one race where it did good for the fans. Cause frankly none of us really know who TRUELY Won that race. Great racing today though. (Still have no idea how Matt stretches his fuel that far)
I disagree. If nascar had stayed consistent with the other races they officiated this weekend. The yellow flag should have been thrown when the cars were still on the backstretch and the race should have ended. Marty D was in the lead at that time. But instead of staying consistent nascar decided to allow the cars to continue wrecking around the track and allow for all this Bs to unfold. Total joke of a finish and terrible job by nascar.
@@freshdoggo1805 how is the yellow line safe? It's even more dangerous, it's caused more Big Ones, and lots of drivers got screwed of a win thanks to it. If anything, removing it makes Talladega safer!
The problem is that Matt came down hard to block the 24 and they touched a little bit and the 24 barely went below the yellow line. Look at the sparks. Same as Logano when he tried a big block on the 9. That's why both the 21 and 22 got penalized. What I hate about that rule is that the 24 and 9 neither one of them crashed or went way below the yellow lines. Matty D got robbed of his 1st victory

It should have gone to Erik Jones. Denny was below the yellow line with plenty of room to move up. If they were going to penalise matt for his racing, they should have thrown out Denny's position
I think that the call could go either way however, Hamlin advanced further despite the 17 moving back up the track rather than getting above the double yellow immediately. Not too sure how this was allowed and years past there has been driver penalized for doing something similar.
I attended and sat about 100 ft before the start finish and directly across from the 11 and 12 cars pit box. Except for laps 1-24, Hamlin sandbagged until the end. Numerous pit stops for gas, checking front end, etc and with about 15 to go crept forward. I predicted he’d be there but not via below the yellow line. Also the 48 was violently wrecked by the 14 right in front of me but nobody is discussing that.
William Byron had it won. Hamlin should have been DQ'd. He could have easily gone to the outside. Top 5 with DQ's 1. Byron 2.Jones 3. Ty Dillon 4. Elliott 5. Newman
Yes it looked like Buescher forced Hamlin but only cuz Jones helped and Hamlin was below the line for awhile and passed cars which u can’t do so Jones, Buescher, and Hamlin should’ve been busted. And now the most painful thing I’ll say and will regret saying but I kept thinking Byron might’ve forced himself below the line but Matty D did force Byron below the line so Byron should’ve won. Matt’s spotter should’ve said something so he could avoid all this BS and still be declared the winner
The yellow line rule is simply impossible to consistently enforce. There are too many variables that come in to play and it always ends up be a subjective judgement call. The yellow line rule was a good idea, but they need to do away with it because it has caused too much confusion over the years.
