I had a shovit...sorry chevette once never ran right always breaking down..then head gasket went...melted the engine....put a 2litre pinto in it and never broke down and went like shit off a shovel.....miss that car
You do get people setting valve clearance on them when they are running, which is right but it is possible to set them too tight by accident. Ive seen it done 😂
@@pinosgarage Ahhh...at one time they had a big bolt coming loose in allegro 1750 transmissions, i spent quite a bit of time doing them, also gearbox mainshaft bearing on metros.... Good days ! ...now i struggle to change headlamp bulbs 🤣

All that effort when you could just buy a 2.0 cortina. Job done.

Definatley my next job...although it has been a few years since doing this...think it was an A series engine on either a Metro or Allegro...😆

@@pinosgarage high resistance plug leads used to be a thing with vauxhalls too !....although it looks like yours has a new set allready 🤔
New but don't think they are good quality...😅
