We do always seem to go over this again and again. Ryu is undeniably strong tho. He's had too many wins with EndingWalker and Kusanagi to be ignored. His damage is incredible for a shoto. On par with Akuma's damage I think. Akuma might be the better character overall tho and even Ken has some advantages over Ryu due to being rushdown heavy.

No matter the region, Rashid players are still ridiculously unfair. Bro I've been a Luke main since beta and current Ryu is better in every way possible. His walk speed, his pokes, crazy damage. This Luke 2.0 I'm playing him tell he gets Nerfed next patch from everyone complaining You just saw how brain dead he can be
Bro they have the same walk speed. Also Luke has much better corner carry and oki midscreen which is important with how dangerous the corner is so I'd say they're pretty similar in strength
The fact that they go out of there way to nerf pokes with other characters but then decide to buff ryu and Kimberly is both understandable but stupid to me at the same time
Maybe i’m missing something but to my understanding i dont think their intentions are to nerf general pokes like, across the board but simply to nerf specific normals that characters had that they deemed to oppressive no? Which, Ryu didn’t really have in comparison to some characters.. i dont know what im talking about at all
Yeah it was. Ken and akuma got their poke moves nerfed to be more balanced. That’s why it makes sense. It’s just more of an adjustment for me being a Ken main lol
i remenbered it d take you 6 months to put JP god tier and 9 months or 1 month before cpt 2024 to put luke top tier !!!!for ryu 3 update and 18 month ! ken 3 months... KEN ! for chun li i'm still waiting for why she is (and still) top tier.
And yet most top players never use Ryu in tournaments. Also as much as they buff Ryu his buffs never change his mu's that's the thing like all his buffs yet characters like Guile its still a bad mu hasn't changed
