    If price wasn't a factor, would your recommend this one over the HF3520\60 ? (In terms of the brightness and how well it works to make you feel better in the morning)

    • @iamhuman9463
      @iamhuman9463  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do not own the HF3520/60, but they both have the same max brightness (advertised as 300 Lux on Amazon website), both have backup power (important to me). The HF3520/60 lacks a few light/sound themes, no midnight light (dim red light), no USB charging and AUX socket. Btw, I love your video playing Clash Royale with 2 models =)

    Wow. That thing gets bright. Do you think it's brighter than cheaper Philips wake up light models? Thanks for sharing

    • @iamhuman9463
      @iamhuman9463  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Robert, thanks for watching. I didn't have other wake up lights to compare. But I just measured about 3000 lux at 10cm away from it with a light meter app. As comparison, my table lamp has about 500 lux at 10 cm away, and it is a Phillips warm white 5W 250 lumens LED bulb. The wakeup alarm is definitely bright enough to read a book. Hope this helps.

      @@iamhuman9463 Wow, that's very bright, as I was under the impression these things give out no more than about 250-300 lux. Maybe it could double as a one of those SAD bright light devices as well

    • @iamhuman9463
      @iamhuman9463  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Robert. I just found this website stating that it has a max lux of 310. Perhaps I did not use my light meter correctly. I measured it from 10cm away. Sorry for the wrong info. www.philips.ca/c-p/HF3650_60/smartsleep-sleep-and-wake-up-light

      I just got one. on regular color mode (not the arctic bright white) it seems as bright as about a 40-50 watt bulb for lighting a regular size bedroom. Definitely not dim at all but also not so bright that you're instantly blind when you turn it off

    So basically it’s a big donut that tells time and lights up slowly

      Yes Jared.

    • @josiaevans
      @josiaevans 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It's a donut that let's you adjust how long it takes to go from nighttime to daytime, and let's you set a cudtom sunset (right from your phone) so when you're ready to sleep you can relax naturally. It also lets you control the color from glowing red sunrise to full daytime or soft Yellow to bright sun or even arctic white. It can also do the sunrise or sunset while fading pre-programmed nature sounds in or out (or FM radio or from an aux sound source). It's a good donut.

    A question for anyone who can answer me, does one have to download an app to set it up, and if so, is it necessary, is it possible to set it up without the app?
    P.S. I am from Mexico and I understand that the application is not available in my country.

    • @MadameFonz
      @MadameFonz ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't have it, but I don't believe so. This alarm clock comes in two versions: the app-enabled and non app-enabled. The main difference being that the app-enabled version allows more functionality and ease of use, but you can still do everything from the clock itself, just like its non app-enabled version. The app is an addition to the clock, but not the primary method of using it.

    Do you feel better using this vs a normal alarm clock?

    • @iamhuman9463
      @iamhuman9463  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Definitely better than a normal alarm clock. I use it without the sound. So the slow glowing light will gently wake me up, or not at all, because if I am too tired on some days I just turn my body to the opposite direction or cover my eyes with a pillow (I have a few on my bed) and continue my sleep. The point is that using it without sound is a very natural and peaceful of waking up. And I like it.
      Btw, Amazon has kicked me out of the partnership program for having too few subscribers so feel free to skip the links below (they are still convenient for u to find the product though).

    Why does it have a hole? Also, is there anyway to prevent this from gathering personal data and sending it to Philips? (the device gathers analytics about the environment such as noise and temperature, you can only access the data if you set up an account on the Philips cloud platform. Who knows what else it gathers?)

    • @iamhuman9463
      @iamhuman9463  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hi Jason. I don't know why it has a hole. Perhaps it was designed to look like a solar eclipse. I don't connect it to the internet. If you get the standalone version (not the phone app enabled one), then there's no internet connection for it to transmit any data.
