Your channel is my 'go-to' when I need plant info. I love how you get straight to the point (no rambling) and give so much great information! Keep up the great work!

Diamond spire is an amazing shrub. I have bought a bunch to stress test in different locations of my landscape.

I LOVE these. Based on your recommendation, I bought 3 of them. They have struggled a little bit due to our dry spring. But, I started babying them. They seem to be coming back well. I am hopeful they will return to health. If not, I will definitely try some in other locations

Oh sweet! I always look at gardenias at Lowe’s but they always say shade. I have very little shade. I hope I can find some.

I love this plant! I have it near my front door. The fragrance is great, but my favorite part is the interesting dark green leaves.

Thanks for all the information! Based on the info you shared, I got two of these today and I’m very excited to see how they will do in my garden

Those look awesome in the containers! I am zone 7 East TN I think I am going to try these in pots and protect for the winter. I currently have Carolina Sapphire trees in large pots in front of house but I know next spring they will need to go in the ground.

I bought a gardenia shrub this year. I’m hoping to overwinter it in my basement. I’m not quite sure how I want to proceed with that but as it’s an evergreen maybe just on my grow shelf. It’s tiny so that won’t be a problem. It’s always going to be a container grown gardenia so maybe if I’m lucky I can control the size. What us northerners go through to grow something that’s beyond our zone. I’m sure it’s much easier for us though because things requiring a cold period can’t be kept in your refrigerators. 🌺💚🙃

I love the look of these. Had seen them at Pikes Nursery and just knew that you would have more information on them. I'm planning to purchase 2 of them. to use as foundation plants near my front door. I plan to plant some radiance abelia in front of them.

Hi, did you plant them next to your foundation? How are they doing? I'm thinking to do the same thing but I heard that gardenias shouldn't be planted next to wall foundation

I will recommend this video to friends with deer problems. They become distraught about marauding deer.

The tips of my Diamond Spire are consistently dropping leaves and dying, but it is still putting out new growth on the lower branches to compensate. It's in the ground in zone 7B in Texas and I water it probably 2-3 times a week. Lack of humidity maybe? Any ideas?

Mine do too! I’m on zone 8, South Carolina. A good bit of the leaves turn yellow and fall I think it just needs to let go of a few leaves. It’s March now, we’re having an early spring. They are all green and happy. They weathered the winter fabulously and can take the brutal afternoon sun.

Would love one , but I’m 6b/7a - it would probably die off in the winter 😔

Do you use standard potting soil when you grow one in a container or is another type of soil better?
