I relate so much to not being able to take a break even when my body hurts. I’m an art student and just started wheel throwing and I get wrist pain along with pretty severe scoliosis. It sucks that even when I’m hurting I can’t stop because my career depends on it!

3:00 re: the masks, i looked into it last year and the KF94s are the Korean equivalent to US N95 and Chinese KN95. I also prefer the KF94s because they fit my flat face (and chin/neck) the most comfortably, yet flush.
i got tendinitis from my (though non-artist) work too 😢 but v happy with my ergo computer equipment
you adjusting the curves for the calendar riso files gives me inexplicable joy

What do you think about the pottery wheel studio at home to start ceramics?
I think it works for some people! For me it's just not possible since I live in an apartment and I don't have space for it. Doing pottery at home also requires a lot of maintenance since clay creates lots of mess + dust. You need special filters and what not to ensure you don't breathe in too much dust! Working at a studio makes the most sense for me at the moment. Maybe one day in the FAR future if I ever own a home or have a garage I can look into that possibility :)
@@MeganWangart Oh ok. Tomorrow I will start looking for a place to go and learn.I sa a small wheel but didn't think of the dust part 🤦🏽♀ For now I like working with resin with my 8 year old. We do it together and have fun while watching your channel.

i know i'm late in catching up with videos and this is a month old, but i just wanted to say that stretching exercises help a lot in reduicing the pain & risk of inflamations (look up "Hand, Wrist, Neck, & Shoulder Stretches & Exercises for Artists" by AskDrJo on youtube). And additionally: scrolilng on your phone or playing on your phone is just as bad as drawing too much each day. so when you think you're taking a break from drawing and instead you're manipulating your phone with your drawing hand, it's actually not a break at all.
I love watching you make ceramics you should make a video just on ceramics😄

they're meals pants!! their website is 'meals.clothing'. super expensive pants but I own two pairs and wear them all the time, so I've found they're worth the investment :)

I have the same Manfrotto tripod and it's a sturdy little workhorse! I got it with my camera on a deal on eBay and tbh I have NOT been gentle with it and it looks and works like the day I got it

As a fellow rsi sufferer the angle your wrist made while drawing on your ipad hurt to see 😅 if you're going to be drawing a lot, I highly recommend getting some kind of stand for it to lift it up a little, or even just setting it on some big books to get it off the table. It sucks that once you've had an injury like this, it comes back more easily. It's definitely something to keep an eye out for in the future. Take care!

I just want to say I love watching your channel!!! Also maybe you have fibromyalgia... Before I got diagnosed with fibro, the doctors told me that I have carpal tunnel, tennis elbow, tendinitis and so on.... My hands give me so much pain. That I have to limit the things I do, in a day-to-day life. It's really hard at times. Trying using tiger balm ointment. Might help with the pain. Keep making amazing art!!😀
