It’s common knowledge that the Bills do not draft receivers with the plan to only play them at one spot. They value players ability to play multiple spots so Coleman will for sure also be taking snaps from the slot and not strictly outside. All of the Bills current receivers and TE’s play multiple spots and shift around all game long.

You’re right, which is why it’s strange they chose Coleman among the available options in the draft! We don’t think Coleman can play effectively on the outside, especially early in his career, so he should be pigeon-holed into a slot role. But if Coleman can’t separate on the outside, Buffalo shouldn’t be deploying him there just because they want to move players around the formation. That’s putting a player in his weakest role.
