I could be wrong, but i think the julia is the outlet version of the bag (made more cheaply in china) and the metropolis is the quality bag (made in italy). i see the julia on the gift website (saks off 5th) and the metropolis on the saks 5th ave site.

Then I went to Furla's website and when I searched for Julia, only Metropolis came up. I am glad I decided to stick with my Metropolis!
Hello! The chain does dig into your shoulder over time and especially if you loaded the bag. The chain does not slip off the shoulder. Hope that helps!

Hi Imee, the few Julia bags from Furla that I have seen are all made in China. Whereas the metropolis ones are made in Italy. Not sure if this is for all of those bags, but it certainly seems the Metropolis ones are slightly higher in quality (as can be seen by the chain). Hope this helps!
Would you recommend this bag (metropolis) if i use it for a vacation? I want a light weight bag that can fit my iphone 7+, wallet, passport and sunglasses. The phone is optional because I usually carry it in my pocket.
Hi Michelle. I would bring this for vacation myself. The bag is very versatile in that you can wear it as a crossbody or remove the chain to wear as a clutch for more formal wear. My phone does fit in the bag, but without it, you can fit sunglasses (soft case only), passport, and (not too bulky) wallet.
I was gift one but I'm confuse because mine looks like the julia but it has the key lock and the inside looks like the metropolis.. now I'm wondering if I they gave me a imitation one😶

Strange how the Metropolis has larger dimensions but seems roomier, and thicker in the upper part of the bag.
