In the second half of the 1940s, the designers of the firms of čkd and ŠKODA were jointly working on the project of a heavy tank for the needs of the army of Czechoslovakia and for possible export supplies. The TNH 105/1000 tank project was based on the achievements of German and Soviet tank buildings with the introduction of significant modifications of the Czechoslovak engineers. In November 1949, a decision was made by the Communist Government of Czechoslovakia to terminate the domestic development of tanks and the transition to the production of a license copy of the Soviet T-34-85 tank, which led to the cessation of design work on TNH 105/1000.
