  • I found this on Craigslist, the guy wanted a Kayak and beach cruzer. I had to put $600 worth of parts on it, but it's running perfectly now. #CatrikeExpedition #WithlacoocheeBikeTrail #DunnellonBikeTrail #TrikeTowing #UsedTrike

      A Wilderness Systems Tarpon 14', I paid about $1300 for the Kayak but never used it. And a Sun beach cruiser was also part of the trade.

    Good job. I didn't realize the older Catrike Expedition required 2 1/2 standard chain lengths. There are plenty of safe trails most everywhere that you can trike safely especially when you are towing kids. The recent tragic death of James Dobson in Mississippi puts us all on notice that we should avoid riding in the situation that ended up in his demise.

      I agree with you, I try to never ever ride on the road. Bike trails are the best. In fact we moved just to be next to the bike trail.

      @@BryceLovesTech Great decision. Your kids will learn how to be healthy and proactively engaged in exercise. Not couch potatoes that will be a drain on society and prone to becoming diabetic.

    I have a Catrike 559 and I love it. I ride it for two hours most every morning. Very comfortable, cool joystick steering. Not fast or great on hills compared to bicycles, but fast enough to put away the miles and cruise. Very safe as well, but strictly a street machine.

      They are well made and hold up well. Mine is over ten years old and I put 500 miles a month on it.

      @@BryceLovesTech I test rode the 559. Loved it. I would like to try a few more but I like the adjustable seat and there's only a few models with that.

      Mine was not insulated, it was a 10 year old bag. I did find this on REI site. www.rei.com/product/852578/green-guru-carbon-cooler-pannier

    Visibility is ultra important especially with kids in the rear. Don't think that a few flags and reflectors will make you visible. Walk back @800 feet and see what your profile to traffic is. Less chance of getting hit if you are lit up like a Christmas tree. Then you only have to worry about idiots texting and driving. Wouldn't hurt practicing ditching the rig on the shoulder for when you need to.
    Bike safe and enjoy the ride!

      @BryceLovesTech  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Richard Stamp I do have flashing lights front and rear. I only have to go on the road for about one block and then I turn on to the bike trail. You're correct routing on the roads is crazy. Bike trails are the only safe place anymore

      Anyone would think American streets were like Russian dashcam videos - full of drunk texting pricks! Drivers take more care around cyclists than motorcycles. Just to be sure though, I'm fitting 12v led strobe lights to the front (white) and rear (red). These are much brighter than regular bicycle lights for daytime use. Also have a motorcycle horn fitted to my GS GT3 for good measure with a 7Ah gel battery in the pannier.
