I'm terrible at trying to think of what to draw and paint 😂. It's great that you now feel well enough to paint again, keep going, practice makes perfect ❤
The 'slant' thing happens because of the angle between your eyes and your painting surface. try to stand up and look straight down to the page to improve the underdrawing and tape placement. Nice colours on your painting.
Don’t be so hard on yourself. Everyone starts out with references and learning being creative and intuitive comes after a very long time. It will come one day you’ll be sitting there and go. I really love that colour. I wonder what it would look like if I made a rose. It will happen.
I have the same problem as you when it comes to eyes and lines not being level. I’m lucky enough to sell my pencil portraits, but you can imagine the frustration when I muck up the eyes and have to start all over again 😂 I use a ruler and measure out where things go, just a few light pencil dots really helps. You have talent, don’t put yourself down, your painting came out great. Art is meant to be fun, please go easy on yourself. I’ve been painting for over 40 years, and I learn something new all the time. Also, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with copying, all of the greatest artists copy in one form or another. 🤗🇬🇧
Be kind do you. You are doing ok. You will get to know your materials better as you use them more. Someone else, I forget who, said ‘It is only paint… ‘. Just enjoy it…
So far I really like Sennelier, but I need to use the paints more before having a solid opinion. And of course, you cant go wrong with Schmincke and Daniel Smith!
Thank you! 💕 I would say about 65% caput mortuum. The top of the sky is more potters pink but more caput mortuum towards the bottom of the sky because its darker and more intense than potters pink. The sand was a wash of potters pink and then caput mortuum to darken it and for the details
Don't be so harsh on yourself, you're doing great. Love the colours you've chosen 🤗💖😊
Thank you!! Youre very kind 💕
You got some beautiful effects there! Sennelier paints have been my favorite for some time. Enjoy!!
Thank you!! 💕

The background is actually really nice. Was it caput Mortum or potter's Pink mainly?

@@_dom_97 gorgeous. Think you changed my mind about Potter's Pink.
