I'm super excited about what you guys are doing ! You offer a lot and keep the price point for the average musician, really means alot. Keep up the good work
So I could tone match the preamp sections of my favorite amps and stick them in here as presets? Will the pedal come with the software or will that be a separate purchase? Gawd I want this thing....
My only problem with any of the demos I see with new pedals is the fact that they do not say what the settings are on their amp that they are running through. Do they set a neutral setting with the low -mid and high or what ? That would play a big part of the over all sounds when using the pedals.... other than that the pedal sounds good.
The tone match uses the frequencies just like a Kemper so couldn't you match any real amp too and I assume the bias head in pedal version with out amp is coming soon ? And I'm equal to bias and Kemper both each THIER own so I don't start any fights hope not !
FLUFF ! if you have bias head and bias distortion pedal how do you run the setup. like if you had an ipad or a pc would both register? aka you could use this pedal into your bias head and see both "live" on desktop ?
Why not a EXP pedal addition? Like, have a expression pedal itself, so I wouldn't have to deal with more cables and other shit on the stage...... which is the reason why I want to get it in the first place.
Are release models going to have Boost, Metal, Fuzz, Overdrive and Distortion along with five preset options or Boost, Screamer, Tube, OD, Distortion, Fuzz, Metal and three presets? I've seen two different pedals throughout your media.
Be careful, I received one that has only hyperdigital sounds, thin, without low end and unusable.I'm in touch with Positive Grid to understand if it's faulty or not; I hope so, other way is the circuit that doesn't work good...
about the price, is it the same between the "bias distortion" and the "bias distortion pro"? because I've seen reviews and the "bias distortion" has three "presets" to add and the "pro" has five
Hi, I just bought my Bias Distortion Pedal but it is not the same as the one on this video. Mine doesn't have two inputs and outputs and it is not called Bias Distortion Pro but Bias Distortion. Any difference between the two besides the inputs and outputs?
And..... it doesnt come with a power supply??? What kind does it need and where can I buy it? Was pretty pissed when it came on the mail with a usb and a power block but no way to plug the unit into the back of the pedal
_=* BIAS Amp user ? you should "like" this post *=_ _=* Positive Grid employee ? you should put this at the top of your tasks queue *=_ Dear "Positive Grid", I think you should do some updates to ToneCloud, because it's not user friendly. Some minor updates to web app, it's only few hours/days of a programmer work, no need to r&d and manufacture any physical stuff in China. 1) Add "sort by" to search results, now when I search by "category", the first results are always last added, and I'm not really interested in them. what about sort by "popular/score/date added/user" ? 2) Add option to search by user, and some more advanced options 3) In the search results, you have 3 columns, but sometime one of the models may has longer comment, so its starts to break the "row", which may look nice to a graphic designer, but its horrible to compare as a user. Please change the results as a nice grid with rows at some height. 4) I have more... but it will enough for now (-: My point - please spend few days investing in improving current/existing products, Thanks, And thanks for your software which I really do like (otherwise I wouldn't bother to write this comment)
The pre-sale event is over, now we wait for the product to be officially released so it will be available through our regular retail channels. The target date is Jan 10.
Would have been nice if you clicked on each switch and turned the adjustable switches while someone elsewas playing so we could hear what the thing can sound like. I still don't know from this video.
If this could model ALL my pedals, Chorus, delay, flanger ect... So i can capture my sounds at home and take this on stage without having to carry a big pedal board, I'd buy it. And I find it to be expensive for just distortion, my distortion pedals only cost me about $200. Now, if it had amp model distortions, plus effects, I'd buy it in a second. Or even just Amp models distortions alone. We don't need 200+ presets. Give me 10.
Sorry, but I'm not at all convinced, let me explain. A lot of the 'tone' comes from the eq, when I turn up the 'high' knob on my hm-2, the response is vastly different then on, say, a tubescreamer. Most of the users have got no clue as to how these specific filters work on a component level and can therefore not recreate these effects in software. This has more to do with topology then with choosing a different transistor/other component type/value. Another big question mark, for me, is feedback, both positive and negative. From what I've seen there's no way to control the amount of feedback between each of the gain stages and that's half of the fun of cooking up your own distortion :). Next point: Bias. Starved fuzzes are used a lot these days, yet there seems to be no way to control it, strange. I'm also wondering if it can do something called ghost-noting, which is best described as a subtle metallic sound when a note decays. The things listed above are what makes me use the distortions I do use, if the pedal cannot replicate those things, then what's the point? I'd love to be wrong here, as it would save many of us guitarists a lot of trouble :).
#BiasHoliday hashtag and users must tag: @positivegrid, @espguitars, @cleartonestrings, @emgpickups Dennis Solinski Robin Watson Alice Disque Great music I love to write songs and sing. Nice.
I guess I am officially old, because I don't understand why I need a pedal that copies the sound "really close" to the pedal I already have, so I don't have to use the pedal I love, that I've used for hundreds of gigs and recordings? I guess "almost sounding" like the sound I love and have spent years crafting, is better than sounding like the sound I love. Huh?
You can have the pedal you already love in BIAS Distortion, plus 19 more of your choice, at any given time. And you can replace all 20 presets anytime, with presets made by yourself and/or our fantastic community of users. Hope that helps explain it!
This pedal is very good, but come on, $ 349usd? I think it is too much for a distortion pedal. Maybe in a future I can afford it, mean while I will have to keep my H9's...
Not relevant to the pedal (which looks awesome) but Fluff, please don't edit in side facing/upshot alternate camera angles of you talking facing a completely different camera... it just looks.. odd and strangely off-putting. Completely unnecessary. Face on to the camera is always better viewing in a commentary. Ok... back to your normal programming...
YES BUT THE ONLY QUESTION THAT MATTERS, CAN IT PERFECTLY DUPLICATE THE LEGENDARY SOUND OF THE ALL MIGHTY METAL ZONE?
Always impressed with the new gear and tech Positive Grid is coming out with. Love it!
I'm super excited about what you guys are doing ! You offer a lot and keep the price point for the average musician, really means alot. Keep up the good work
What Positive Grid really needs to do is release a preamp pedal where you can import your settings from BIAS amp and plug it into the front of house.
Subconscious Alex Lifeson fan, this guy! Listen to all those Sus2 chords!! Man this thing sounds great.
Dig the strung out sticker on the strat didn't know fluff was that cool haha. Sweet punk guitar though
Still wish there was a way to use Android with Positive Grid products.
Let's make this top com so they can hear our prayers
just buy an IOS device mate, I'm sure you won't regret it 😉
I'm not buying any Apple device just for a pedal, this is not the way things work. And I'll never buy an Apple product at all
same here mate I have an iPhone as my work phone and I hate it they are terrible but I can get bias and jamup on it and they are awesome apps
androids sound processing doesn't allow for low latency I/O
Well, I have to say, I don't only want this pedal. I fucking need this pedal.
So I could tone match the preamp sections of my favorite amps and stick them in here as presets? Will the pedal come with the software or will that be a separate purchase? Gawd I want this thing....
I only clicked because I saw that fluff was in the video.
The hype for this pedal is real
Love the expression pedal jack! Looks good guys
nice kit ,and evolution sound of this ,crazy cooollll
Can it do the Swedish Death Metal Buzzsaw tone of the Boss HM-2 Heavy Metal pedal?
i just got one and i madly love it!!!!
Are any more demos of the different sounds it can make available? I like the theory, but it would be great to hear a few more sounds!
check out our channel, there are several good ones!
Thanks, will do!
My only problem with any of the demos I see with new pedals is the fact that they do not say what the settings are on their amp that they are running through. Do they set a neutral setting with the low -mid and high or what ? That would play a big part of the over all sounds when using the pedals.... other than that the pedal sounds good.

NIKKI REAGAN I've had confirmation from positive grid that it will match an amplifiers preamp
its nothing like a Kemper. Bias does just EQ matching. Nothing sophisticated
All the BIAS pedals are great except Fuzz from my experience. Does anyone know if it's possible to emulate a great Fuzz tone??
Wait, can I just go direct out from this to Studio Monitors? Never goes into detail enough.....
FLUFF ! if you have bias head and bias distortion pedal how do you run the setup. like if you had an ipad or a pc would both register? aka you could use this pedal into your bias head and see both "live" on desktop ?

This comes with BIAS Pedal software like the head comes with BIAS AMP correct?
Hard to find the cost of this device. I'm far from wealthy and though I love these products, I can never afford them. When will pricing be available?
I saw a post from Positive Grid, saying they will release the price next week?
cnemi22 Figured as much. The waiting game.
Looks like it'll be a little under 300$. Gotta double check though.
I guess it's worth it, but one might want to wait for Christmas...
the description in under the video says $299 pre order price with free shipping. After pre-order it's $350
Can I make a metal zone???
Are release models going to have Boost, Metal, Fuzz, Overdrive and Distortion along with five preset options or Boost, Screamer, Tube, OD, Distortion, Fuzz, Metal and three presets? I've seen two different pedals throughout your media.
so it's like kemper but only distorted pedals?
Can you use the midi in this pedal to change Channels on the bias head ?
Be careful, I received one that has only hyperdigital sounds, thin, without low end and unusable.I'm in touch with Positive Grid to understand if it's faulty or not; I hope so, other way is the circuit that doesn't work good...
how does it compare to the darkglass b7k ultra?
So do you even need the pedal or does the app do the same
about the price, is it the same between the "bias distortion" and the "bias distortion pro"? because I've seen reviews and the "bias distortion" has three "presets" to add and the "pro" has five
why can't I get those tones with BIAS PEDAL on my pc?
can' get a decent high gain distortion. tips anyone?
What are you using as your amp?
What's the audio I/DSP/O latency of this thing?
does this have to be input through the app or regular bias software to work?
New KSR "lunchbox"!?😳😉👍
Maybe info on next FAQ Monday?
Is this could work as the foot switch of the BIAS AMP?
Good Question.
yeah thats only thing i wanna know
I think not
it has midi, so shouldn't it be able to? im interested but want to use this to control fx and amp also.
for PC, not apple
Are there 2 versions of this? Bias Distortion Pro and Bias Distortion? Or was the one used for the video just a prototype with a placeholder name?
There is only one version, BIAS Distortion.
Can the out puts be sent to different amps and have different pedal patches going out. I.e. Can you assign what pedals go out of which outputs?
Signal is the same out of both outputs, but you can split them.
Hi, I just bought my Bias Distortion Pedal but it is not the same as the one on this video. Mine doesn't have two inputs and outputs and it is not called Bias Distortion Pro but Bias Distortion. Any difference between the two besides the inputs and outputs?
Hi Eduardo, the one in that video is a protype only, we changed it to having one input/output, and it is just called BIAS Distortion.
Thank you very much.
can it do a clean tone? midi presets?
wait they gonna run out can I get this at my local guitar center shop???
We are working with retailers to get them in stores, hopefully soon.
Does anyone know why I need a "negative tip" with this power supply? "Power supply: 9V DC (negative tip required)"
So it doesn’t do a reverse polarity if you’re cheap enough to use a daisy chain power supply
But does it CHUG?
+Fluff; I heard you rocked up iTunes?
Tune me into it pls.
And..... it doesnt come with a power supply??? What kind does it need and where can I buy it? Was pretty pissed when it came on the mail with a usb and a power block but no way to plug the unit into the back of the pedal
HI FLUFF!!!

Thanks for all the feedback!
there is not and option to order, how I order it?
The pre-sale event is over, now we wait for the product to be officially released so it will be available through our regular retail channels. The target date is Jan 10.
ballpark price?
Not sure if you found out by now, but pre-orders are 300.
Hey Fluff!Which monitor do you use?
this is a TON of witchcraft
hi Positive Grid... Please Add Some New Effect Like Sitar Simulator And Acoustic Simulator in Bias Fx.. Thanks
We have the Acoustic Sim in our new Acoustic Expansion Pack, check it out!
Would have been nice if you clicked on each switch and turned the adjustable switches while someone elsewas playing so we could hear what the thing can sound like. I still don't know from this video.
I JUST SAW FLUFF AND I AUTOMATICALLY CLICKED
why not just tonematch a tube amp? how would that sound?
you can simpy go into the preamp and out the effects send to get just the preamp
really?
wow fluff your strat sounds really sweet
Distortion pro cloud?
There will be a Tonecloud for the BIAS Distortion pedal, yes.
hey also , can you switch between your bias amps tones with the distortion peddle?
but can it sound good is the question
If this could model ALL my pedals, Chorus, delay, flanger ect... So i can capture my sounds at home and take this on stage without having to carry a big pedal board, I'd buy it. i want this...t-shirts

I wonder how it would work with some of my weirder fuzzes.
Ehm... stereo? I guess the production models only have 1 in/out each...
At the moment, I can say that a Nux Cerberus is way better...I hope that only my one is faulty...Anyone same experience with Bias Distortion Pedal?
I'm like #555 hells yeah!!!!
I guess I am officially old, because I don't understand why I need a pedal that copies the sound "really close" to the pedal I already have, so I don't have to use the pedal I love, that I've used for hundreds of gigs and recordings? Sounds like a Behringer distortion pedal for $30
This pedal is very good, but come on, $ 349usd? I think it is too much for a distortion pedal. Maybe in a future I can afford it, mean while I will have to keep my H9's...
The on button turns the unit on.....
commercial
nope too poor cya

Not to quibble, but we thought that was a cool choice by the Fluffster, here in the PG halls!
That's somehow the ugliest looking pedal I've ever seen tho.
why not just tonematch a tube amp? how would that sound?
hi Positive Grid... Please Add Some New Effect Like Sitar Simulator And Acoustic Simulator in Bias Fx.. Thanks
We de have 2 Acoustic Simulators, check out our new Acoustic Expansion Pack.
