Great more vegan scare mongering propaganda...... Glad no pesticides used on fruit and vegetables.... Lmfao.... Greger is such a fraud cherry picking his studies. Not about diet, but saving the animals.
White people created these and refined these poisons, these drugs. They are preventing removal of these poisons;all for sake of their wealth. White Greed is a worldwide problem. White Denial and flat out refusal to acknowledge is a worldwide problem. This includes Asians and Latins as White too. You practice the same standards as Whites.
The information displayed and reported mentioned some produce items as a source of arsenic and other chemicals as well. Your cognitive dissonance is showing.
Shon K the only thing true there is that Gregor Cherry picks! Which is understandable considering the properties of cherries😂 Its only "scare mongering" to people who don't wanna believe things! End of the day mate you just have to do what you think is right👍🏼 have a good day bud
I used to eat chicken nuggets and drink milk everyday. When I learned of Dr. Greger's research on prostate health, it came as no surprise that my toilet activity became tenfold easier on my new daily diet that includes ground flax seed and soy products.
Mycoremediation is something I've been learning about lately, and these video are such an encouragement to keep on with my efforts, and very well done as even I find it hard to talk about heavy metals and what not with people.
Dr. Greger, thank you for keeping us informed about the dangers of the food that is brought to us. I am Vegan, so I skip right past exposing myself to a significant portion of the poisonous foods.
+Mena Care to explain? I think people are not seeing the real problem. They have gotten people stuck on the Vegan vs Meat eater debate for a reason. I promise you everyone decided to go vegan at once, it wouldnt turn out they way you would expect. They have us like sheep.
RWS, the poisonous foods that I personally skip right past, that I was referring to, are animal products. Either their butchered corpses, their menstrual flow remnants or either the highly altered mammary secretions meant for their either enslaved or murdered freshly born. Yeah, it isn't just Dr. Greger who knows a great deal about the very real fatal consequences of dietary choices rich in cholesterol, saturated fat and no dietary fiber whatsoever. Don't just take my word for it, with heart disease the U.S. of A.'s number one killer, ANY Doctor worth their own weight would tell you to avoid these deadly foods all together!
At least they don't contain the antibiotics, saturated fat or naturally occurring animal / bird / fish hormones. And people aren't paying for their mistreatment in farm buildings or slaughter houses.
Manuel K I believe the website and he mentioned in an older video(the monthly Q and A) that he is working on translating videos to Spanish and maybe some other languages.
Please everyone share the videos and & spread the knowledge. Informing ourselves is great, but informing friends/family/colleagues is better. Pass it forward
i lived on a farm helping a family. one day he was putting arsenic in the chickens water i said why you doing that ? he said a lil bit helps the chickens stay healthy. i said you are poisoning people. i moved the next day and then let people know around the area what they was eating who shopped with them getting eggs and meat. few months later the local govt shut them down and fined them large.
For those looking for more information and clarification on these videos should check out the comment section of the same videos on the nutritionfacts website. Lots of knowledgeable posters there!
The work that your researchers do and that you do and present to us, is beyond life-saving Dr. Greger. You are one of my heroes. Bringing truth to us in a time when the truth is dangerous. I'm vegan however I have loved ones that eat chicken and tuna (but not pigs or cows) because they think it's ok, healthier. Bless you for allowing us to try to open their minds with evidence based nutrition news! You are AMAZING! 🌱🌱🌱
I'm currently on Doxycycline for Rosacea of the Eye and don't know how long I will have to take it. My doctor says possibly for the rest of my life. I'd like to hear about the possible dangers of that given that you mentioned tetracycline in this vid.
72 years, I wonder how many humans have gotten sick in cancer and other horrible diseases during that time. A bit of 'karma' for eating animals for adults, but kids of course can't make their own informed decisions...
So many surgeries, and even more so many, many lives. But of course the ruling 'elite' want people sick so it's no surprise that this has been allowed for so long.
It's even hard for adults to make informed decisions when the truth is kept from them by the corrupt FDA and profit-hungry industry. Without the internet and Dr. Greger, most of us would not know the extent of it.
OneSingleCheezeIt, well that I agree with, but I don't agree with people needing an organization to come to the conclusion that eating meat and dairy is ethically wrong. But yes, up until the last 20 years so and if you don't have the internet and can't find out otherwise, I can understand why some people wouldn't manage to educate themselves that nutritionally-wise there's nothing to lose from going vegan (except for enormously harmful effects from meat and dairy). And for some it's even hard ethic-wise as they're brought up and brainwashed really hard to think it's 100% natural and completely as it should be to consume animals on a daily basis. I, and many with me, was brought up that way but I was soon able to think for myself and see the horrors that went on behind locked doors. Might not of course have been so easy if I was brought up say in the 50'ies ...
Bioaccumulation is a word uncommon in a persons dictionary, but thanks to Dr. Greger it should and will become one of the strongest arguments in every healthy persons "what should we have for dinner" talks.
is there a video in the difference between white potatoes and red potatoes? i like red more but its almost twice the price per kilo in my area, is it worth getting them at all, do they offer much more in health or are they mostly similar?
how much so? i prefer red potatoes to sweet potatoes, and i usually eat white potatoes as a staple for carb intake, is it worth paying extra for red, or is there not much difference between them to justify a big cost difference, i usually just eat sweet potatoes as an extra, dont enjoy them as much as potatoes.
Along with wholefoods and active lifestyle to protect one from these extreme toxins we need to add herbs and superfoods and they are not expensive because you only need a little bit a day and goes a long way.
This excellent, imperative video should have had millions of views by now but the fact that only 51K have viewed this over 6 years is a sad testimony to how utterly bankrupt the vast majority of American consumers are about diet and health. Europeans seem much more conscious of the link between diet and health, and the EU has stricter policies regarding the use of chemical poisons in foods. It was interesting how Dr. Gregor pointed out that these arsenic toxins as chicken feed additives had been tolerated for 70 years! Now with the health debacle of microplastics being in the news daily, it might serve as a wakeup call to the populous that the conveniences and modern benefits of "Better Living Through Chemistry" has a huge price to pay, but with these corporate interests so deeply entrenched in policy making and advertising I'm not too hopeful for meaningful changes as the people are being manipulated and deceived by these forces, and are being too mesmerized and placated by their virtual technologies intoxications.
Great work, Dr. Greger, but your words are little confusing in that Arsenic is a chemical element. There cannot be an "organic" or "inorganic" form of Arsenic. I think you meant "organic Arsenic-containing compound" or something like that.
This is really scary, I grew up eating all those toxins in my food and didn't realize it. The sad part is these toxins will stay in the food chain for many generations even though they are now banned, this affects not only CA residents but others because CA ships food all over the world. Good work UCD and Dr Greger on bringing this to the public's attention.
He's actually uploaded several videos critiquing other plant foods. For instance, he has one video from a while back that showed avocados changing human DNA in the lab and then advised not to eat them. Good try though.
I remember not all that long ago, there was a supplement, I believe the name was something like Ren-O-Sol or Ren-O-Sal, which was specifically an Arsenic tablet that is dissolved in hatch-ling Chicken drinking water. I used this on chicks and weak chicks thrived great when provided with this supplement. As I understand it, Arsenic is metabolised by Birds to boost their energy levels. I understood the chemistry, but thought nothing of making sure my back yard Chickens had the best care. Adults were never provided the Arsenic supplements since they were intended for egg production and meat Thinking on this further, I would not be surprised if soil tests where the Chicken poop from the hatch-lings was discarded would come back high with Arsenic.
Avoid factory raised chicken. Know your local farmers and buy pastured poultry supplemented minimal fed non-GMO grains. Better yet, keep your own backyard poultry.
Can you do a video discussing the science around organic food? I remember you often supporting it as an assumed solution to avoiding toxic herbicides and pesticides, but I have yet to see evidence that organic chemicals lack the harmful qualities of normal ones
This boys editing and production style has blossomed. You made scary shit entertaining. I think ill post this on Trisha Paytas' next chicken finger mukbang 😂
Ryan Finchum Have you had Joel Salatin's chickens tested? I do not believe he feeds any antibiotics to his pasture raised poultry. In case you missed it in the video, this has to do with specific antibiotics containing arsenic that was abolished in 2015.
BonnieBlue2A I didn't miss it.. the big picture is "another reason not to eat chicken".. the rebuttal from Salatin would be "we agree factory farmed chickens in these studies is to be avoided for those reasons".. so how to respond to still not eating HIS chickens?
There are lots of people in the comments arguing with just such equivocations as these: Just eat pastured chicken, duh! It's more of the "free range meat is magically pure" nonsense. I usually reply with, "Raised in a biodome, were they? If not, that meat is not magically pure. It's the same filthy poo as CAFO, just slightly less filthy."
At least they don't contain the antibiotics, saturated fat or naturally occurring animal / bird / fish hormones. And people aren't paying for their mistreatment in farm buildings or slaughter houses.
(saturated fats aren't unhealthy when consumed moderately - they are essential for our body) (PS: I'm not an omnivore & support everything else you said here)
Everything he says is very good, but he left out that fact that some of the largest concentrations of cattle and meat producers are in the worst geographically air polluted regions of the country. There is lots of arsenic in air pollution, and these animals breathe it too which makes it a double whammy. It's also in the water they drink, and it lands on the food they eat. Animals are a polluted mess, and toxins are stored in fat tissue. This means that the larger animals that have more fat are storing the most toxins. It's no wonder that people who love eating the largest animals are more likely to get cancer.
As soon as Europe/UK sign the 'Free Trade' agreement with the US, regulations that keep the worst of American foodstuffs off our food shelves will start being dismantled.
yes! i live in Germany and we People here fought and still fight tooth and nails to NOT get those "Free Trade" aggreements like TTIP etc. exactly because of this reason u named
vegetables are sprayed as well. so no matter what we eat everything is exposed to Hormones and Cancer. Dr. where were you when cereal branding started? why didn't you raise your voice then and stopped it from becoming such a huge business?
I've been buying the organic ones for a while since they are on the Environmental Working Group's 'Dirty Dozen' list of most contaminated produce items. Potatoes also can contain glycoalkaloids which are natural pesticides; they are present in higher levels in green / sprouting potatoes, so buy I them in smaller quantities so they are fresh (unfortunately, this means I pay more). The skin has more glycoalkaloids in it so I don't eat the skin anymore. Some of the B vitamins are at a bit higher concentration in the skin, but it is not true that 'all the nutrients are in the skin', as some people like to say. Dr. Greger recommends sweet potatoes since they are overall more healthful than white potatoes. I like them a lot, but there is a type of bacterial rot that affects them that is hard to identify just by looking at the potato. It seems to be very common in the sweets I buy even though I live in an area known for producing sweet potatoes (you'd think they would be fresh). The rot is not harmful to humans but it makes the potatoes have a bad taste and texture.
Thanks for the info! I'll be trying to find organic potatoes only, even though they're so much more expensive! I do love to eat sweet potatoes, but they're very expensive where I live
You're doing incredibly important and life-saving work. Keep it up Dr. Greger!
Great more vegan scare mongering propaganda...... Glad no pesticides used on fruit and vegetables.... Lmfao.... Greger is such a fraud cherry picking his studies. Not about diet, but saving the animals.
Shon K shut up.. why even waste your time commenting some bullshit, obviously you're triggered or you wouldn't be commenting in the first place.

My parents fed my brother and I chicken almost every day. They were always going on about how "healthy" it was. Scary.
Marketing and propaganda is worryingly effective.
Tristan Devereaux but chicken it's healthier!!? is what they will continue to say

Excellent video! Can you cover the cucumber after you do the rice series? I'm assuming there must be some data out there if it was mentioned here.
At least they don't contain the antibiotics, saturated fat or naturally occurring animal / bird / fish hormones. And people aren't paying for their mistreatment in farm buildings or slaughter houses.
thanks 🤗🤗🤗🤗
So grateful for your video
You're amazing Dr. Greger! Thank you for allowing us to make informed dietary choices!
Any advice / info on how to choose safer mushrooms? Is organic better? Are some varieties safer than others?
this is a great motivator
glad you present frequently
Please add Spanish subtitles so I can share on facebook vegan groups in Argentina, thanks
He does not read the comment section. You have to on the website to post a question. Think it's in the description.
Manuel K I believe the website and he mentioned in an older video(the monthly Q and A) that he is working on translating videos to Spanish and maybe some other languages.
There are Spanish subtitles, you can change the subtitle language with the settings icon!
You never know, he might have a quick spy on the comments :)

Why are white potatoes 2nd for dioxin?

Can we talk about arsenic in potatoes? Kind of alarming.
He won't, that would make him talk badly about veganism which he will never do in any way, shape or form. He's so biased it's laughable
He's actually uploaded several videos critiquing other plant foods. For instance, he has one video from a while back that showed avocados changing human DNA in the lab and then advised not to eat them. Good try though.

Chicken still contains antibiotics and saturated fat. Check out the NutritionFacts.org chicken videos to be sure.
BonnieBlue2A Better still, stop eating chicken 😊

What's up with the spinach? is organic spinach in the same ball park as the spinach controlled for in the study? because that's a tad concerning..
Choose peas, celery, kale, sugar snap peas, green beans,, lettuce etc perhaps
Tips Fedora I eat loads of potatoes and loads of spinach - help! What am I supposed to eat?
so how does one respond to Joel Salatin followers about their chicken eating habits?
Ryan Finchum Have you had Joel Salatin's chickens tested? I do not believe he feeds any antibiotics to his pasture raised poultry. In case you missed it in the video, this has to do with specific antibiotics containing arsenic that was abolished in 2015.

Poultry harbor cancer-causing viruses.
Wow.
In conlussion?
WHAT potatoes are safe to eat???
I believe Dr.Greger eats sweet potatoes and quinoa.
Potatoes help with energy and a healthy physique. Just do your best :)
Greger scores a yahtzee on dairy
Brown rice arsenic
oh dear Lord!!!!
So should we start buying organic potatoes and cucumbers?
"Nein, danke!" Thanks from Germany!
POTATOES NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Saturated fats are not essential. Our body makes all the saturated fat we require. The only essential fats are plant based omega 3 and 6.
The Tyson people with their 7 thumbs down. lmao
