We've been working with AVRAME for the past 6 months or so and they have been awesome to work with. Our trio 100 kit will be here this spring.
For us, the hardest part of the process so far has been dealing with logistics and planning around the unknown Maine weather. We had a ton of snow this winter, combined with warm temps, causing a pretty bad mud season and posted roads with weight restrictions. Just something for folks to think about when coordinating delivery! Avrame has been awesome and accomodating for us 👍👍

That's great insight! Thanks for sharing for those who may be in a similar future situation. Glad Avrame has been good for you.

Holy cow. It's crazy to see them lifting the wood through your property. That takes some skill. ... Also, you might have to get Atlas a kid cam of his own! He's ready to help narrate!

I know right?! And Atlas just doesn’t mind the camera at all. Surprising considering how shy he can be 😂

I've always liked A-frames. Anxious to watch yours go up. I also like the Gothic Arch structures people are building. For just myself, I'm thinking small and possibly building it myself.
I couldn't help to notice your Deep Eddy Vodka jacket. Did you do some kind of event for them? I live in Oregon and go on long motorcycle trips (2-5wks) every year with friends. One year we planned to stop at Deep Eddy's in Dripping Springs. My friends saw their vodka somewhere and we were looking forward to stopping there. But they were closed! We were on a tight schedule and couldn't hang out for a day so we'll just try again another year.

Hi! Yeah the original plan was to go smaller and do it ourselves, but as time went on we expanded, literally, with another kid haha. Ash works for Deep Eddy as the Field Marketing Manager for CO & AZ. You should definitely go by the distillery, or if you’re ever on a long motorcycle trip she could send y’all some swag!

Man! My wife and I are looking to do exactly what you’re doing here. We are from texas but we’re just in Colorado looking at land 3 weeks ago. I’m sure you’re very busy but I would love to connect with you and get as much info as I can!

Who did you use for your general contractor? Would you recommend them? What was your budget for the construction?

Wish the owners/builders well. I love A-frames and have studied their interesting history from the 1940's. Excellent book: "A-frame - by Chad Randl", highly recommended.
Way to much labor and materials compared to A-frame kits in the 1950's - 1960's. This is just semi-custom stick-built with all the disadvantages and costs associated, except they take advantage of cheap sweat equity labor being a "kit".
I know a few things about A-frames having designed my own truncated A-frame for affordable housing with 70% fewer parts and a fraction of the assembly time. A local company in my hometown: Seattle, Lindal Homes, was a pioneer in early A-frame development. It took me 3+ years of failure attempting to design prefab modular before I learned enough to abandon stick-built for affordable homes. Glidehomes (Michelle Kaufmann talented architect, $300m VC investment), Katerra ($3b VC investment) and many other prefab modular companies have gone bankrupt. This was my first ClueTrain moment and I've never looked back.

For the sub floor are you using 3/4in or 1 1/8in t&g?
