This video only goes to prove that orthopedic surgeons are no better than auto mechanics and usually see every solution as using their hammer to your nail. Lots of doctors, not just orthopedics will tell you what they know, but not what is out there to be known and should be known by your doctor is usually quite limited. Therefore, doctors don't always want to move out of their "comfort zone" of what they like to do, what they like to prescribe, what tools and equipment they like to use, etc. It's only the really bright mechanics who figure out a way to better engineer a solution. And lastly, the concept of "follow the science" truly means that "science" is no better than trying to hit a moving target while riding a rollercoaster. Today's "surgical miracles" will look like "Stone Age surgery" decades from now. And that's a fact based on my own personal experience with a surgeon almost 35 years ago who should have advised me better and now I bear the brunt of his limited advice and my lack of knowledge because things he did then wouldn't in any way be done now. For a final example, if you are ignorant, you might know what partial knee prosthetic is being inserted in you and you wouldn't know to ask whether it's cemented or cementless. And while the doctor gets paid for his or her work at that moment, we are the ones who have to live with their decisions for the rest of our lives. And this proves that doctors are mechanics and not prophets. Heaven only knows what will be developed 35 years from now, but I pray people will benefit from it and not suffer from it.
Had a successful surgery. No more pain. Can’t wait to get the other knee done.
Had mine done 8 days ago. Physio 4 times a day and up walking without aids. Need full knee replacement on other knee
