- NSFAS provides bursaries to individuals who plan on studying or are applying to study at one of South Africa's 26 Public Universities or 50 TVET Colleges and is geared towards students from poor and working class backgrounds.

I want to study for a postgraduate diploma in education
Hi dearest, so even if I clicked on loan when applying, will I be automatically be diverted to bursary? Because I didn't understand the difference of Loan and Bursary for NFSAS

How did it go , because I’m currently in the same situation
I you received grant from SASSA the you don't have to upload any documents. NSFAS will automatically detect that you are/were received SASSA grant or SASSA SRD R350.
And you will automatically be on funding approved🎉

What does it mean if my status says Registration Received? And what happens after

I applied for nsfas my status is "funding eligble" and my problem is that the university still says I owe the institution money and there isn't any bursary information on my university student portal..

I apllied in 2022 but didn't get admitted to university so i applied in 2023 for 2024 but they didnt want any documents yet from me since i once applied but i hear u must put a consent form how do i do that cause i cant uplaod anything and my status is still on awaiting evaluation
I was told that they now work with sassa and home affairs to retrieve the documents they need

NSFAS only funds certain courses at University. This may be leading to this challenge. If you are still stuck, contact NSFAS directly for the course of action you should follow.

For the first time in 2024, NSFAS will not require documents from applicants. The only time they now require documents is if your application was rejected and you submit an appeal.

It's wrong if i used my parent cell phone number and email address while applying?
You need your own Cellphone number an email address when applying for NSFAS.

Does NSFAS fund actuarial science , it's not in the options under field of study
Please contact NSFAS directly for information on this. If they do not, visit the bursaries portal to find bursaries for actuarial science. You can also check out ISFAP- www.careersportal.co.za/bursaries-2023/which-courses-and-universities-will-the-isfap-bursary-fund but remember, ISFAP only funds actuarial science at some universities.
I can't complete my application because some of the options are missing. Under higher education institution type, there's no option to select. Kindly assist ❤

If you receive R350 grant do you quality for NSFAS?
You cannot receive the NSFAS bursary and a R350 grant at the same time. If you are approved to receive the NSFAS bursary you're R350 grant will be suspended.
