I honestly think this band is one of the best TH-camr to artist transitions I’ve ever seen. Some may say RackaRacka’s transition to film directing with Talk to Me, but I honestly think this is my favourite, along with Ted Nivison’s directing, and if Wilbur Soot never posts a video on his main channel again just to focus on Lovejoy, I couldn’t be happier for him and the rest of the band.

Absolutely adore the fact that this was shot on film! I wonder what that experience was like, you can always try to recreate the look digitally but it never quite comes close to the real deal. There's just something so satisfying seeing the authentic graininess, the little bits of vertical lines (from scratches and dust possibly?), and the halation! Killer song, and killer music video :)
Just remember the director of this watched every Barbie movie to find lore, consumed 400mg of edibles on accident and went to every Margaritaville and Rainforest Cafe with Eddy Burback just for fun.

Duuude I’m in so much love with the aesthetic of this video! It’s so 80s highschool photo vibe but crisp. And on top of it, you guys REALLY sell that vibe with your expressions and outfit. Like, every little part has been carefully crafted to fit the visual theme, including how your eyes look and the stillness, the comparison to the mannequins etc… which is broken in a refreshing way when you guys burst into movement towards the end, before abruptly going back. Really, really cool
This is honestly so poetic how they seem just like the manikins until the end cause that’s how we are taught to act, dead inside. Always hiding our panic attacks, our mistakes, our pain. And it’s just honestly refreshing and relieving to see them break character at the end to let out those pent up emotions. But at the very end everything must go back because it’s not right to show your emotions, and once your done exploding, you must hide away until they become to much to bear again.

Just heard this on the radio and had to look it up. Spot on @foxface3596 that's exactly what I got from the song. It's so exhausting... I grew up very controlled and restricted and even all these years later I'm still learning to be myself.
Not to mention they're in a pose reminiscent of 70s pictorials, faking it and showing a picture perfect outside when its completely different on the inside. Not to mention, this was the era with toxic masculinity being incredibly rampant so that adds an additional layer to how people keep hiding their vulnerabilities.

This music video is genuinely so masterfully made, I love the idea of it resembling photographs and yet there's always one bit that's moving, like a moving picture, it genuinely plays with your mind in such a cool way, and when it stops doing that fully it provides such a good sense of impact, and then it goes back to a simple photograph with one moving element as it pans out to reveal a studio Amazing as always, literally so good

This music video is genuinely so masterfully made, I love the idea of it resembling photographs and yet there's always one bit that's moving, like a moving picture, it genuinely plays with your mind in such a cool way, and when it stops doing that fully it provides such a good sense of impact, and then it goes back to a simple photograph with one moving element as it pans out to reveal a studio
