You are right on this. Rest is in obedience to Jesus. The day is very important as it is one of the commandments to have enough time to just meditate on our saviour.

It’s ironic that the sabbath is a rest from works, yet man continues to turn it into a day of works. For many people, “not working” has become a form of works by which they seek to prove their loyalty to God. And, throughout history, the “works” required to observe this day of “not working” have become remarkably complex, burdensome and even bizarre. They make “not working” a lot of work!
Actually it’s about practicing rest with Jesus. You can’t do that when you are worrying about going to the grocery store or paying your bills. The Sabbath is about putting everything aside for one day per week to fully take hold of that covenant that God has done everything for you. Well the way I see the Ten commandments is that every good Christian would not be a very good Christian if they were not doing these things. As believers we should love God w all our hearts, we should refrain from adultery, we shouldn't covet our neighbors stuff and on and on. A day of rest is only a healthy habit. The only thing in question is what day is it? Well, the bible says it's the 7th day and God himself rested on the 7th day. Jesus was the Lord of the Sabbath. I don't think He stopped being the Lord of the Sabbath after he died on the cross. I think what He did away w was the sacrificial system because he became the ultimate sacrifice. So in my opinion He did away w those holidays that required a sacrifice. There is one Jewish holiday that has not been fullfilled which is the feast of trumpets which I think will be fullfiled when He returns a second time. There is the Scripture that speaks about our future that God will require all nations to go to Israel every year to celebrate the Passover. If they don't go, he will not let rain fall on their land. I think that we should be at the very least resting on Sabbath and following the Passover celebrating Christ as the Afikoman. That's just my opinion and I am defenitely not a scholar. It's not "Adventists say." It's the Bible that teaches the 7th day. God says it's His Sabbath. It's people who decided to switch it to Sunday. But God only sanctified ONE day - the 7th day.
I can tell you are very studied in the scriptures. I want to show you a passage you may not have noticed before. Isa 42:21 - The LORD is well pleased for His righteousness sake, He will magnify the law, and make it honorable." If you notice from scripture this is exactly what Christ did with the Sabbath. The Jewish people had made it a burden and Christ made it honorable... He said you help, you heal on the Sabbath. BUT notice Christ never once tells His disciples to switch to a different day... even after coming back from the dead. You can look throughout Acts and see them keeping it. I love this example from Acts 13 - read it and see that the people wanted to hear the message. Paul does not say come back tomorrow because that is the new Sabbath... nope... Paul says come back next Sabbath for a message! Paul is keeping the Sabbath. The Sabbath is "changed" to Sunday under the antichrist system... read this verse too: Eze 8:16... when these "religious" people decided to change the day to SUNday... what are they worshipping?

Jesus Christ is the Lord of the sabbath, by walking with the Most High following his teachings, always repent of our sins regularly and always pray seeking the Holy Spirit to rehabilitate you, lead you, and remold you according to heavens will. The rest of our Lord Jesus Christ will be upon you thereby resting from our works too because the holy spirit does all the heavy lifting, we just follow our shepherd. At this point in my life I'm trying to get back to spending more time w Him in His presence eliminating as much noise as possible as the computerized telephone w it's video games and movies and all the reality stuff and all the cute animal videos and on and on have crowded out my ability to hear that still small voice as clearly as I used to when I first became a believer many years ago. He will speak even if only in our thoughts if we make room and time for Him, and he will lead us on the right path if we obey His leading. So, I think it's good to study these topics and do as we feel led by God without allowing the differences of opinion to divide us. United, we stand. Divided, we fall.
It is referring to Joshua leading The Israelites out of slavery, yet they were still disobedient. Context is key brother, Sabbath is a blessing God made for his people.
I think another beautiful symbol of rest in the OT is Passover. All they had to do was apply the blood and rest. It’s what we do now as believers, apply the blood of Christ and rest !
The phrase, "entering Gods rest", is a refence to the promise land. Today, the promise still reamains for the people of God to enter his rest (promise land). The scripture tells us, "Today, do not harden your hearts". If remain faithful and be obedient...when Yeshua comes back, you will enter the promise land (REST), and enter the ultimate sabbath rest.
9:38 the 7th day Sabbath was not given in the law of Moses. It was written in stone by the finger if God as the 4th of 10 commandments! Take a look at those… can you now lie, steal, have more than on God? Or are those 10 permanent? There are additional rest days given in the law of Moses but those are separate from the 7th day Sabbath. Those additional sabbaths were written on scrolls by Moses and those scrolls were placed on the outside of the ark.
While the Law of Moses can technically be distinguished from the 10 commandments it is still appropriate and biblical to refer to those commands as the Law of Moses, because people understand what you mean. You can say Ten Commandments, Torah, Law of Moses, but the point still stands, the true sabbath is what Jesus brings through His work on the cross. You enter through belief/faith. Don’t force the 4th commandment into this passage. You can’t do it

He never gives another day.
The Sabbath rest IS all about resting from your works. Both physically and spiritually. It’s about remembering that God does everything for you. It has not been changed by scripture unless you do some twisting of scripture as the antichrist power does: He shall think to change times and laws.

Verse 3 > He that wants to obstain form eating these certain things let him and the one that will eat let them. Verse 20 > talking about all foods are clean, but some believers had conscience in eating certain things Verse 21 > if some food or drink affended another believer better not to do it when your with them , not to cause them to stumble in the Lord.
Why discuss whether or not to keep the Sabbath? Is it not part of the same law written with God's finger on the 2 tablets? Read James 2. Why don't we ever disagree about whether it's a sin to murder or steal? Or commit adultery? Or to lie? Aren't ALL a part of the same law? Break one is equivalent to breaking all (James 2). Jesus says, if we love Him, we will keep His commandments and they are not burdensome. Why is Sabbath considered a burden and a work when it tells us to rest? God says His commandments are not far away from us, but should be in our hearts and on our lips (Deuteronomy and Romans). Romans 2:18 says things that are excellent are instructed out of the law. The law points out our sin (Romans 7:7-9). If the law didn't matter, then there would be no sin, and no grace would be needed. Romans 3:31 - do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law! Romans 6:1,2 - shall we continue to sin (transgress the law) so that grace may abound? Certainly not! Romans 7:12 - therefore the law is Holy and the commandment holy and just and good. Romans 7:14 - the law is spiritual. Romans 8:6-8 - to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God ; *for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.* so then those who are in the flesh cannot please God. We are not saved by the law, but *because* we are saved and because we love Him, we will stay obedient to Him and keep His commandments. The bible says we are slaves to him whom we obey! Isaiah prophesied from one Sabbath to another we will worship Him in heaven. Revelation says that God's remnant people will keep His commandments and have the testimony of Jesus. In Matthew, Jesus says, not everyone who calls Him Lord will enter the kingdom of Heaven and He will tell them to depart from Him because they are workers of lawlessness. Why would you have a problem with God wanting you to unite with Him in spirit on Sabbath. How would you feel if the world economic form made you not work or travel on Sunday. Also the Sabbath day of rest is a sign between God and His Children and it's something believers will be persecuted for.

Not sure what version of Scripture this is. The word Joshua is the Hebrew word for Jesus they are one in the same. Jesus' Hebrew name is Yashua or Joshua. Also, where it says he wouldn't have spoken of another day. That part is wouldn't he have spoken of another day. He never spoke of another day anywhere else. It's basically saying if Joshua had given them rest wouldn't God have spoken of another day? He never spoke of another day. Is still the seventh day Sabbath also known as Saturday. Also, we are looking forward to the heavenly Canaan, where Christ comes back to take us to heaven. Only then will we truly have rest from sin. Right now we work to combat sin in our lives. Every sin that God brings to mind we confess and give it to him and he takes it away. When we go to heaven, we won't have to do that anymore. Only then will it be truly finished.

Simply keeping the law, including the seventh-day Sabbath, will not save anyone. However, living by the spirit and having the righteousness by faith that enables obedience in Christ will result in being able live up to God's standard, including His chosen day of rest, the seventh day.
I think the word rest when Jesus said to come and I will give you referring to not sleep wise. I hope you're not referring to the rest of sleep because it isn't sleep that they're referring too! When I rest it's to meditate on Gods Word, God's promises, Enter forget with all of my problems and all of my daily Down to maybe that is the rest that jesus gives me.

The Jewish Sabbath is too difficult. Good thing Jesus changed all that. Or whoever. (Roman Emperor Constantine thought Sunday would be better than the seventh day of the week for day of rest…whatever you choose to think ‘rest’ means)
Look at the word that you are seeing translated to Joshua in Hebrews 4… you’ll see it’s the same EXACT word as the one translated to Jesus in Hebrews 2. This is actually a GLARING error by the translators of your Bible. This verse should actually say: “If Jesus had given them rest would He not afterwards have spoken of another day. There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.” I.E God never said “now I want you to change this day to Sunday”. In the book of Acts, you see them keeping the sabbath continually.
Becareful not to use all scripture as a metaphor. There is a rest day that is sanctify as well as a Spiritual rest in Christ. Divine the word of truth without removing the Fathers will of the Torah written in our hearts.

You're trying your best to sound like an expert, and you're only proving that you don't know what you're talking about at all. The "rest" in Heb. 4:9 refers to the literal act of Sabbath keeping, as the word "sabbatismos" is used. The "rest" that Paul refers to in verses 1,3,4,5,8, and 10 is "katapausis", which is a different kind of rest. The fact that verses 1-10 uses the word "rest" doesn't mean they're all referring to the same kind of rest.
A correction to the video: "Joshua" in the Bible version in Greek in the video (G2424, Ἰησοῦς) is translated in King James as "Jesus". It is our Savior that Hebrews is saying did not change the day of rest. Thus, the 4th commandment remains for the people of the Almighty, as the law will not pass away until the heavens and earth do. It is certainly also a shadow picture of the eternal rest as was well stated in the video. But *we are still called to follow Him and keep Sabbath to rest and/or "do good"*. The Sabbath will be kept in His millennial kingdom ("And it shall come to pass from month to month, and from Sabbath to Sabbath, all flesh shall come to worship before Me in Jerusalem, saith the Lord." - Isaiah 66:23).... Having the same sounding name or even possibly the same name in Hebrew or transliterated into Greek doesn’t mean He’s referring to Jesus, the Son of God in this passage. It doesn’t take much to figure out that Joshua in the Old Testament is who’s being referred to. Just read the surrounding content and previous references to the OT wilderness generation.

Telling followers that Joshua son of Nun had the authority to change the 4th commandment if he had spoken it is a false teaching. Every scripture should answer the questions of who, what, when, where,why,, and sometimes, how,,, and it sometimes takes Three or four scripture's to start seeing what's said.
Superb study of God’s Word. Modern churches often selectively take a sentence or two from a chapter of the Bible, using it out of context from what God was actually communicating with His words.
The biggest takeaway from this teaching is to NEVER chop up the word of God and selectively apply our easily misguided interpretations to it: doing that leads us to following false doctrine and a make-believe version of God (idolatry). Following a made-up “Christian” God means not being saved, even when we may believe we are.

Knowing God’s word as He intended it, is what is meant, when the apostle Paul tells us to put on *the full armor of God* every day, in Ephesians 6:10-18. Paul is guiding us to study God’s word daily, so we are armored against the attacks of the devil.
The Bible warns us repeatedly, throughout its pages, that Christians will be led astray by false teachers and churches and because of it, many will not have the salvation they believe they do. So please, read and study the Bible correctly and faithfully, with your whole heart, so you won’t be among the deceived. 🙏🏼🕊️

It’s ironic that the sabbath is a rest from works, yet man continues to turn it into a day of works. For many people, “not working” has become a form of works by which they seek to prove their loyalty to God. And, throughout history, the “works” required to observe this day of “not working” have become remarkably complex, burdensome and even bizarre. They make “not working” a lot of work!
Actually it’s about practicing rest with Jesus. You can’t do that when you are worrying about going to the grocery store or paying your bills. The Sabbath is about putting everything aside for one day per week to fully take hold of that covenant that God has done everything for you. It is a gift that I didn’t understand until after I had actually experienced it. It is beautiful!!! 💛💛💛

11:52 unbelief also causes a person to decide to change the 7th day Sabbath to Sunday therefore ceasing to enter His rest. It’s the same as the issue with Cain and Abel: I know God wants me to keep Sabbath but I, as the creation, know better than God, the Creator, and I’m going to keep Sunday instead.
No one changed the sabbath. No man can. No organization can. No council can. The sabbath remains on Saturday. But the opportunity to rest (now in Christ) goes beyond just Saturday now. Well the way I see the Ten commandments is that every good Christian would not be a very good Christian if they were not doing these things. As believers we should love God w all our hearts, we should refrain from adultery, we shouldn't covet our neighbors stuff and on and on. A day of rest is only a healthy habit. The only thing in question is what day is it? Well, the bible says it's the 7th day and God himself rested on the 7th day. Jesus was the Lord of the Sabbath. I don't think He stopped being the Lord of the Sabbath after he died on the cross. I think what He did away w was the sacrificial system because he became the ultimate sacrifice. So in my opinion He did away w those holidays that required a sacrifice. There is one Jewish holiday that has not been fullfilled which is the feast of trumpets which I think will be fullfiled when He returns a second time. There is the Scripture that speaks about our future that God will require all nations to go to Israel every year to celebrate the Passover. If they don't go, he will not let rain fall on their land. I think that we should be at the very least resting on Sabbath and following the Passover celebrating Christ as the Afikoman. That's just my opinion and I am defenitely not a scholar. Just some things to think about.
All 3 fall Jewish Feasts are yet to be fulfilled - the Feast of Trumpets is the first one.

It's not "Adventists say." It's the Bible that teaches the 7th day. God says it's His Sabbath. It's people who decided to switch it to Sunday. But God only sanctified ONE day - the 7th day.
I realize that I am just comparing the two.
I can tell you are very studied in the scriptures. I want to show you a passage you may not have noticed before. Isa 42:21 - The LORD is well pleased for His righteousness sake, He will magnify the law, and make it honorable." If you notice from scripture this is exactly what Christ did with the Sabbath. The Jewish people had made it a burden and Christ made it honorable... He said you help, you heal on the Sabbath. BUT notice Christ never once tells His disciples to switch to a different day... even after coming back from the dead. You can look throughout Acts and see them keeping it.
I love this example from Acts 13 - read it and see that the people wanted to hear the message. Paul does not say come back tomorrow because that is the new Sabbath... nope... Paul says come back next Sabbath for a message! Paul is keeping the Sabbath.
The Sabbath is "changed" to Sunday under the antichrist system... read this verse too: Eze 8:16... when these "religious" people decided to change the day to SUNday... what are they worshipping?

Jesus Christ is the Lord of the sabbath, by walking with the Most High following his teachings, always repent of our sins regularly and always pray seeking the Holy Spirit to rehabilitate you, lead you, and remold you according to heavens will. How do you know the Joshua is the old tested Joshua? Could it be talking about yeshua/Jesus? Because Jesus yeshua and Joshua are the same .
It is referring to Joshua leading The Israelites out of slavery, yet they were still disobedient. Context is key brother, Sabbath is a blessing God made for his people.
I think another beautiful symbol of rest in the OT is Passover. All they had to do was apply the blood and rest. It’s what we do now as believers, apply the blood of Christ and rest !

The phrase, "entering Gods rest", is a refence to the promise land. Today, the promise still reamains for the people of God to enter his rest (promise land). The scripture tells us, "Today, do not harden your hearts". If remain faithful and be obedient...when Yeshua comes back, you will enter the promise land (REST), and enter the ultimate sabbath rest.
9:38 the 7th day Sabbath was not given in the law of Moses. It was written in stone by the finger if God as the 4th of 10 commandments! Take a look at those… can you now lie, steal, have more than on God? Or are those 10 permanent?
There are additional rest days given in the law of Moses but those are separate from the 7th day Sabbath.
Those additional sabbaths were written on scrolls by Moses and those scrolls were placed on the outside of the ark.
While the Law of Moses can technically be distinguished from the 10 commandments it is still appropriate and biblical to refer to those commands as the Law of Moses, because people understand what you mean. You can say Ten Commandments, Torah, Law of Moses, but the point still stands, the true sabbath is what Jesus brings through His work on the cross. You enter through belief/faith. Brothers and sisters in the comments. We shouldn't argue about Sabbath keeping. Whether or not a family member in Christ worships on the Sabbath or not, as long as they do so with full faith in Christ as their savior that's all that matters. Let the Holy Spirit lead them whether or not they should keep it and God be their judge. But let us treat every person with love and respect no matter when they worship the Lord. God judges the heart.

If you read the whole passage, Paul is talking about fastening. The Jews believed certain days were better than others for fasting.

Verse 1 tells us they were quarreling over opinions.
Take a look then at verses 2 > some were having conscience on eating certain things .
Verse 3 > He that wants to obstain form eating these certain things let him and the one that will eat let them.

Verse 21 > if some food or drink affended another believer better not to do it when your with them , not to cause them to stumble in the Lord.

Why discuss whether or not to keep the Sabbath? Is it not part of the same law written with God's finger on the 2 tablets? Read James 2. Why don't we ever disagree about whether it's a sin to murder or steal? Or commit adultery? Or to lie? Aren't ALL a part of the same law? Break one is equivalent to breaking all (James 2). Jesus says, if we love Him, we will keep His commandments and they are not burdensome. Why is Sabbath considered a burden and a work when it tells us to rest? God says His commandments are not far away from us, but should be in our hearts and on our lips (Deuteronomy and Romans). Romans 2:18 says things that are excellent are instructed out of the law. Romans 7:14 - the law is spiritual.
Romans 8:6-8 - to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God ; *for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.* so then those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
We are not saved by the law, but *because* we are saved and because we love Him, we will stay obedient to Him and keep His commandments. The bible says we are slaves to him whom we obey! Isaiah prophesied from one Sabbath to another we will worship Him in heaven. Revelation says that God's remnant people will keep His commandments and have the testimony of Jesus.
In Matthew, Jesus says, not everyone who calls Him Lord will enter the kingdom of Heaven and He will tell them to depart from Him because they are workers of lawlessness. Lawlessness = sin= transgression of God's law = 1 John 3:4. Jesus says not one dot or tittle will pass away from the law til heaven and earth pass away. Basically, to sum up, *all* 10 commandments always mattered and still do. Especially the Sabbath because it points to our God as the creator of the Heaven and Earth and everything in them! This is why God tells us to Remember this day. It was instituted at creation.

Why would you have a problem with God wanting you to unite with Him in spirit on Sabbath. How would you feel if the world economic form made you not work or travel on Sunday. Also the Sabbath day of rest is a sign between God and His Children and it's something believers will be persecuted for.

Not sure what version of Scripture this is. The word Joshua is the Hebrew word for Jesus they are one in the same. Jesus' Hebrew name is Yashua or Joshua. Also, where it says he wouldn't have spoken of another day. That part is wouldn't he have spoken of another day. He never spoke of another day anywhere else. It's basically saying if Joshua had given them rest wouldn't God have spoken of another day? He never spoke of another day. Is still the seventh day Sabbath also known as Saturday. Also, we are looking forward to the heavenly Canaan, where Christ comes back to take us to heaven. Only then will we truly have rest from sin. Right now we work to combat sin in our lives. Every sin that God brings to mind we confess and give it to him and he takes it away. When we go to heaven, we won't have to do that anymore. Only then will it be truly finished.

SDA says all are lost if they dont do the 7 th day Sabbath.
Simply keeping the law, including the seventh-day Sabbath, will not save anyone. However, living by the spirit and having the righteousness by faith that enables obedience in Christ will result in being able live up to God's standard, including His chosen day of rest, the seventh day.
I think the word rest when Jesus said to come and I will give you referring to not sleep wise. I hope you're not referring to the rest of sleep because it isn't sleep that they're referring too! When I rest it's to meditate on Gods Word, God's promises, Enter forget with all of my problems and all of my daily Down to maybe that is the rest that jesus gives me.

Look at the word that you are seeing translated to Joshua in Hebrews 4… you’ll see it’s the same EXACT word as the one translated to Jesus in Hebrews 2. This is actually a GLARING error by the translators of your Bible.
This verse should actually say:
“If Jesus had given them rest would He not afterwards have spoken of another day. There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.”
I.E God never said “now I want you to change this day to Sunday”. In the book of Acts, you see them keeping the sabbath continually.

You come to wrong conclusions by using a Bible that has been changed from God's word,,,,,he gave his word in the flesh one time and common sense says that he gave his written word,,, only one time also.
You're trying your best to sound like an expert, and you're only proving that you don't know what you're talking about at all. The "rest" in Heb. 4:9 refers to the literal act of Sabbath keeping, as the word "sabbatismos" is used. The "rest" that Paul refers to in verses 1,3,4,5,8, and 10 is "katapausis", which is a different kind of rest. The fact that verses 1-10 uses the word "rest" doesn't mean they're all referring to the same kind of rest.
So what does "Rest" means to you ?

A correction to the video: "Joshua" in the Bible version in Greek in the video (G2424, Ἰησοῦς) is translated in King James as "Jesus". It is our Savior that Hebrews is saying did not change the day of rest. Thus, the 4th commandment remains for the people of the Almighty, as the law will not pass away until the heavens and earth do. It is certainly also a shadow picture of the eternal rest as was well stated in the video. But *we are still called to follow Him and keep Sabbath to rest and/or "do good"*. The Sabbath will be kept in His millennial kingdom ("And it shall come to pass from month to month, and from Sabbath to Sabbath, all flesh shall come to worship before Me in Jerusalem, saith the Lord." - Isaiah 66:23).... Having the same sounding name or even possibly the same name in Hebrew or transliterated into Greek doesn’t mean He’s referring to Jesus, the Son of God in this passage. It doesn’t take much to figure out that Joshua in the Old Testament is who’s being referred to. Just read the surrounding content and previous references to the OT wilderness generation.

Chapter 5 with references in 5:5 plus "Melchisedec"... Chapter 6... etc. etc.......... Who has the authority to add to the Word and law of the Almighty? Only Moses was given authority to write down His laws and then only one other Prophet was given authority to increase the understanding of those laws in Deut 18:18-19, who is our Savior. Even He was not given authority from the Father to change the Father's laws (except to complete the sacrifices as The Sacrifice), as He Himself stated in John 12:49-50. Nowhere in Scriptures is anyone else given authority to add to or remove from the law, include Joshua son of Nun. Telling followers that Joshua son of Nun had the authority to change the 4th commandment if he had spoken it is a false teaching. You are taking on a higher responsibility... take heed to the warning for false teachers of Jeremiah 23:1-2 "Woe to the shepherds that destroy and scatter the sheep of their pasture!
