    Really nice video !
    Just two points to make:
    The fact that people often think that this dress came with a fur coat is due to the fact that people often paired the two together in photos. This lame sheath dress was only made for one year, in 1963, making it elusive and hard to acquire.
    The same goes for the autumn haze mink fur coat, it was made as a sears exclusive in 1964, and was the most expensive Barbie piece of clothing for that time.
    But the dress did not come with the fur coat.
    The dress was sold with a gold dimpled clutch bag and a pair of navy open toe heels as a Barbie Fashion Pak in 1963
    And the fur coat was sold on its own as a sears exclusive in 1964.

      oh, very cool! That’s something I did not know. The fabrics were the same so i assumed it came as a set.

    Thank you for sharing your review. Shes beautiful!! Yes, I would have loved to have seen the jacket. My heart wants her to wear a string of pearls. I absolutely enjoy your reviews. I spend my weekend watching. Thank you. 😊

      Happy you enjoyed the video :). A string of pearls would have really completed the look for sure.

    She is my Favorite Silkstone Vintage reproduction (and the only one I have) and I think it would have been beyond perfect if she came with the Pearl necklace and short gloves like the "Golden Girl #911" Ensemble. I am also hoping that Mattel will release the blond and red versions as well. I absolutely love this Bubble cut version and I think that Mattel did a phenomenal job with this one. Encore Please!!!!
    Thanks for an Honest and Pleasant Presentation. PEACE ALWAYS!🙏

    Funny you mentioned buying two, because I totally did lmao 😂 idk what came over me, but when they released her 2 made there way in my cart. Would love to see an African American number 1 Barbie made in silkstone eventually. They did the exclusive one but hopefully we’ll get one intended for more than a handful of convention goers lol. An AA Bubblecut would also be gorgeous ❤

      I would love a general release for the AA no. 1 barbie! The Julia with dark brown hair (that does not turn red) has a bubblecut type hairstyle. I love the face sculpt they used for julia. Its one of my all time favorites

Saludos.💜

    Just subscribed. I am avid doll collector-vintage Barbie’s, reproduction Barbie’s, vintage My Scene all from Mattel….plus original Bratz, reproduction Bratz, LOL OMG and LOL tweens, Rainbow/Shadow Highs, Rainbow Junior high dolls all from MGA. I love all them. I enjoyed to learn more about vintage Barbie’s…that I just decided started collecting them no more than a year. Those vintage original Barbie’s is to die for..I managed to acquired three of them so far from 1960’s. It made my hands shaking to touch them since I used to played with them starting at 3 years old.

      It is so special to hold the barbies from the 60s! Nothing like it

    This sheath I always wanted and the indigo high heels She's a pretty doll I read that with the older repro outfits like our Poodle Parade from 1996 that these outfits can stain the doll I kept most of mine in the box but I don't notice any staining I'm glad you're happy with her I have a vintage one The brunette Bubble Cuts look sophisticated a la Jackie Kennedy or Liz Taylor

      @@somelikeitvntg Yes the bubble cuts sre lovely I love my 2 redhead ones ❤ because like the redhead ponyyail as you mentioned Manny The Barbie Man in your post on the After 5 repro post, the redheads remind us of Lucille Ball These outfits also look great on the Mattel I Love Lucy dolls

    Ok I love her! Totally getting her!. Also I'm a bit disappointed she didn't come with the peg stand. I was really hoping she would. But other than that I love her!

      @somelikeitvntg  ปีที่แล้ว

      The peg stand is great! Although they use peg stands when reproducing the #1 Barbie dolls. The Bubblecut came with a T stand

    Her hair looks so different from the originals. I don't have many reproductions except the ones from the 90's. Many of them are lack luster, and their hair just doesn't look as nice as the vintage bubble cut. Can you compare the rooting with a vintage, please?

    • @somelikeitvntg
      @somelikeitvntg  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The rooting pattern looks the same to me. It looks different most likely because the saran hair fiber used on the repro is thinner and softer. The original bubblecut saran fiber is more coarse and rough to the touch.

      @Lewisa369 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No I have the 90s reproduction after the 90sI really purchased more vintage/ mod stuff. I just recently got back into collecting with MTM, BMR 1952 and some fashionistas. When silkstone came out I wasn't buying anything unless it was vintage or mod.

    The hair totally misses for me. Doesn't have the same Jackie Kennedy shape that was the inspiration for the first bubble cut doll. Too flat, not enough height and bubble shape. Mattel could have done better.

    • @somelikeitvntg
      @somelikeitvntg  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can definitely see that now after having a few vintage bubble cuts of my own.

      Vintage Barbie Bubble cut dolls were made from 1961 to 1965. The Bubble cut Barbie had different hair and lipstick colors, as well as different fullness of the hairstyle. It added dimension and variety to a much Beloved Doll that was Fun to Style and Play with. Mattel could not have done better, only chosen differently.
