When using Audyssey MutlEQ-X does a shelf filter and adding DEQ, equal what you want? And if only doing a shelf eq on the bottom frequencies where do you hinge it at and by how much? If you have your answers; type them out in the comments section we would love to hear varying opinions on the matter.

I've become a bit of a fan of DEQ after this new Audyssey PC app has been released. I feel like I have a much better result and can now appreciate the DEQ impact some. I've always liked to crank it to -10 to get the 'full effect' and while I still like to get there, I'm finding I am more pleased at -30db to even -40db when my wife doesn't want it loud and she tells me to turn it down a lot less. I think it definitely keeps me a little happier that my surrounds and bass make an impact at least more similar to what I get at higher volumes and I've had no sacrifice to center channel dialog clarity or anything like that.
I was against it, but at least right now it's won me over. At least in my situation where it is somewhat multipurpose and not exclusively dark room movie only time. We watch shows and stuff together in there is what I'm saying.
BTW, that PC app is SO much better. I'd like them to keep going on new features...
