The Aya of the Quraan purely meant what it said it wasnt about oneself it was about actual saving someone's life and btw this is yhe Aya yhat had me set on getting into med school Alahamdulillah, so hopefully May Allah guid you and you reach that chapter in the Quraan you will find context that it is purely about actual murder ...Quraan came discussing all topics, spiritually as in souls and hearts or physically as in body and mind !!!!!
I advice you read the quraan and it's tafsir and learn one Aya, one story and one Hukum ( Rules) at a time from the Quraan arrangement while learning about Arkan ( pillars of islam) along it's side ...

If we remember the story of Able and Caan, when the population and humanity was beginning. When Able was killed an entire humanity was killed. It is very deeper than we think. In Islam we do not interpret the texts ourselves, the understanding of the texts is given by the prophet Mohamed paece be upon him then his companions and the great scholars) of the first 3 centuries after the revelation mainly)
Allahuma barik fik ya akhi, alhamdullilah for pointing that out. As my deer brother mentioned we cannot interpret the verses of quran as how we like to interpret other things. The only one's that interpret or explains what these verses mean is our prophet Muhammad (sws) after him the Sahaba and all the ways down to our ulama's in present day age. We have no right to give our interpretation on the quran when it's all ready been done. Go to tafsir ibn kathir or tafsir al qurtubi of the quran to check what the verses mean Mr. Han

My suggestion is that before you study the Koran and Islam, it would be a good idea for you to study the history of the Torah and Gospel first. There are two versions of the Torah, namely the Samaritan version and the Masoretic version which is a derivative of the Old Testament owned by Christians. There are many contradictory differences between the two, for example the Masoretic Torah version tells that the prophet Ismail as was a wild man and was disobedient towards his brother Isaac and his family while the Samaritan Torah version tells that the prophet Ismail as was a pious man, obedient to his family and honorable prophet. And you can also get information that if it is true that Jesus was crucified then you will be surprised to find the story in the Bible that the prophet Jesus was able to change his face, disappear himself, which is part of the miracle given by Allah SWT. And it is narrated in the Bible that the prophet Jesus changed his face and disappeared not just once but often.

Islam is a literal religion bro, the meaning of killing one person is as if you have killed the whole humanity refers to the deed or the sin that you will get by doing such actions, it is not a metaphor, meaning even killing one is a huge sin, and meaning saving one is a huge deed.
However, Allah SWT is the most merciful, HE will forgive even if your sin is as much as the foam in the ocean, if you sincerely ask for repentance.

Another way to to refute Trinitarians is to ask them "if Jesus is god, then why is the Lord's prayer addressed only to the Father and not to to the son?"
Its like as if Jesus is not want to be prayed or worshipped to.

The Truth and Reality is that all the Prophets of Almighty God came with the same message and guidance to submit to the one and only Creator and follow His Commands and Guidance in order to be successful in this life and the eternal Realm of the Hereafter. Now here it is where things change because the earlier revelations have been distorted therefore we are not bound to read and follow them anylonger because the Noble Qur'an has replaced them. It's the final Revelation. And the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him is the final Messenger and guide for all humanity till the Day of Judgement. Anyone who chooses other wise will be at a huge loss and regret upon themselves.
Jesus is the Messiah. There is no need for prophets after the Messiah!!
