Thanks for the video Nick! I have nearly completed my Medina, (OzRES2) and didn't want to muddy my thoughts with a different plane, but I enjoy your wit and had to watch. I am glad I did. After watching the wing build, I had to come to see the fuz/tail build. Take a look at the angles of the joined "Jenga" pieces in the rear horizontal stabilizer, they are all angled for the greatest strength against impacts. This stab is stronger than a solid block of wood of the same dimensions. This model designer has done an amazing job. I did not understand why the designer made so many of the model components in two or three pieces then it dawned on me, glued sections are stronger than if there was only wood, those sections where he has placed the joining areas are stress areas. In the bottom of the fuse you had to pry the sides open, if this was by design, then it is genius. By causing the fuz sides to be preloaded with an inward bow shape, there is a kinetic, (spring) energy there which would stop or reduce the transference of an impact from traveling through the entire fuse. A really remarkable design. I am interested to see if the flight characteristics were designed as well. Stay safe sir.

Thanks think the tailplane mount is a little Ott. But it went together well

Also likely due to limitation on the area of his laser cutter - but that's just a guess.

The Maverick F5K is a gorgeous looking model. Love that main wing design.
The wood and laser cutting must be top notch, as didn't see you using any sand paper in any prep work.
Agree, having option to include an 2nd plan print in the KIT to frame would be nice.

I ordered one of these from Flightpoint a couple of weeks ago, still waiting for delivery. Great build video should help me when I start to put mine together once it arrives.

How nice! It looks like an exciting aircraft, lovely kit. Looking forward to seeing it fly. As they might say in Mexico: Viva Ukraine!

Those plans are fantastic. I'd love to build one but my arthritis has ended my building days.

Great video Nick. Just starting my Maverick build. What sort of aerofoil should I sand the tail and fin to. Will rounding the fin leading edge and then follow the RUD1 etc taper on the elevator be sufficient?
