    Very solid video. I like that you brought up the importance of footwork and repetition. 2 things I'd personally add are this: when talking about lobs, it's good to point out if you and your partner are ever both stuck in the back(the worst strategic position for a team to be in) lobbing is the best way to A) reset the play and give you a chance to get in a better position rather than hoping to get lucky by shooting/jamming from behind(which I never ever reccomend) and B) if you're in front and see your partner is stuck behind his opponent and can't get around them, lobbing gives them an oppertunity to sneak around the opponent and put you in the ideal position of having both teammates in front(from this position you're much more likely to win the volley).
    The other thing I'd add is the importance of timing in multiple applications. When you're hitting a shot and want to make sure it's hard/fast AND precise, more important than using maximum effort when swinging is making sure your timing and mechanics are perfect. I would bet anyone that if you took a radar gun and measured the speeds of you hitting 10 shots with 100% effort VS 10 shots with 70-80% effort but you strictly focus on your timing&mechanics, the shots where you used less effort and more focus would come out faster every time. It's the same principle as throwing a ball. Not to mention overswinging is a good way to hurt yourself and miss otherwise easy shots. Another application of timing is changing speeds/spins on your returns to disrupt the rhythm of your opponent. Ever been playing someone and it felt like they were just immediately smoking all of your good lobs/other returns and it felt like there was nothing that you could do to stop them? Next time, try to change speeds/spins on your return. It doesn't have to be a drastic change. a 5-10mph variation or a hook/slice added to a return can be just enough to make your opponent miss or give you a setup because you've just disrupted their TIMING
    But yea all that stuff aside, fantastic vid Tywan! 9.9/10

    52 second mark is correct...By going around instead of straight you can protect against the right corner shot by your opponent as your Power side Partner can protect the Middle and More toward your Side...That was Good Advice Tywan...You can also get a feel for which way to approach the front after you return ball by Judging what kind of return you hit as well

    if you want to get better at handball , this video will help you . I got top 5 in doubles for the state of new york ( highschool team) My coach showed me this video during practice and we used the same cones.
    I played against Gio the other day and almost beat him 17-21. Not bad for a 15year old tho , Im coming for tywans title in couple years lol.
    Tywan is the best handball player right now , so its good to learn from the best.
    I heard some crazy stories about the players in the 70s,80s, and 90s so idk if he's the best to ever live but he up there lol

      To me Ain't No WEAKSIDE, Both sides count equally when you a pro. No power side and no weak side. Both sides are of equal importance. I'm sure I'm not the only player out there that feels this way. And if I am well "to each his own".

    • @user-st3yv5wc4x

      If you consider the side you are playing on the WEAKSIDE that's up to you. I ain't feeling it. To me neither side is The WEAKSIDE.

    Still curious about why today's one-wall handball players give their first serve away? Years ago when I played the goal was to "ace" an opponent.

    • @mlara03celtics
      @mlara03celtics 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are several reasons why. One is that they do not practice serves any more. There are only a few top A’s that use or even display a good serve. The second they want to be conservative as to not hit the ball out. This is both a gift and a curse in my view. The games become much easier with a great serve but these young guys have legs and they like to run nowadays. 😂
