*HEAVY LM2 SPOILERS AHEAD* I actually liked a lot how Hell Temple wasn't an optional zone in LM2, but instead the last one, because it really set the tone and made Spiral Hell feel like the most dangerous place you've visited, even if gameplay-wise Spiral Hell is way easier. The Tower of Oannes fills the spot left by Hell Temple nicely.
No sane experienced player of La Mulana would listen to this for pleasure. It's a piece that brilliantly describes the area and has a air of pending torture. For players, this musical piece is torment incarnate due to what it reminds them of when they had to deal with Hell Temple. It's something to respect and fear. If you want to see a poor soul tormented by the throngs of the Hell Temple, look no further than Deceased Crab.
This temple was pure suck, but the BGM was on fire. That *damn* part with the spikes sticking out of the wall... ended up abusing invincibility from getting hit by the bird by using the invincibility-extending software combo and also time stop. Got the job done.
Damn... haven't even played Hell Temple, and I feel the hatred seeping out of this song. It's like the song's actually MOCKING you, ESPECIALLY that little bit at 1:00. Oh, and I'm playing this game right now........ and I'm considering playing.... no, SUFFERING through this. God help me.
I have a question for anyone who passed through the Hell Temple, is that temple hard? I mean... I played the Remake Version in hard mode (and in the end i enjoyed it) but since it was the US Wiiware version i couldn't unlock the Hell Temple (and I can't buy the PC version), but instead i played the Original MSX-style Version (in normal tho) and i did get to the Hell Temple (and it was the most horrible experience ever! also I can't beat it because a stupid bug in Dimensional Corridor, now i can't even beat the game again) So... i watched some speedruns of the Remake Hell Temple and i think... the Original is more... "Hell... than the Remake version? I mean! Door shortcuts?! LANDOFHELL's with no Mini-bosses?! No PR3 Challenge?! and easy grapple claw and double jump mechanics?! (i don't mind those last anyway) But i don't know if is harder than the Original Version because i didn't played the remake Hell temple so... can anyone tell me? thank you (and sorry if my english is awful...) Also, i like the intro of this version!

Well, hate to break it to you, but beating it is kind of required if you want the "all characters" ending. That, and you also need to beat it on hard.
