I appreciate the last comments you made, about being okay with Hilda ending. It just goes to show your understanding of shows and stories in general. Yes, it can be sad to see your favorite show end, but I believe it is much better for a show to end properly, even if short-lived, instead of going on for who knows how many seasons only to lose its character and everything it had going well.
I adore this show, Johanna is a character I find myself relating to more and more each year. We’ve grown up with so many stories of child adventurers facing impossible odds, but you eventually reach an age where you don’t relate to the child anymore, you relate to the mentors and parents watching from the sidelines. Watching Johanna have a whole plotline I’m the movie of chasing after Hilda, begging for her daughter back. Realizing she nearly died and LINGERING in that moment... God I love her so much she’s one of my favorite fictional characters.
I don't think it's actually a choise to stop looking for Hilda on the side of Joanna and more realizing that it's kinda stupud to put a hat and scarf on a bunch of stone statues and seeing if they resemble her, though the fact that she left the hat alone is kinda weird, maybe she just planned to get ut back on her eay back to her car?
Yeah, I agree. When I saw her doing that I was kindof confused. I thought it was maybe because she didn't know that Hilda looked like herself for the most part, but she saw that Baba did and even if she thought Hilda would look different, why would it be "close enough" given a hat and scarf.
I feel like it was more or less a symbol of her moving on from the search of looking for Hilda. While that was important, she decided to do something Hilda would most likely do, which was taking the bells off of the trolls.
honestly I haven't seen the series and didn't even know of it's existence until now but even as a new viewer the movie is awesome and I absolutely loved it hilda is now added to my watch list
Johanna might have removed the bells on the troll rocks just in case one happens to be Hilda. It's not as much as an act of compassion towards the trolls but might rather be a precaution to keep Hilda safer.

Frida and David being a tad useless in this film is the biggest gripe I have with it. Sure, they weren't in the book, but an adaptation doesn't have to be the exact same. Evens could have been adapted (idk, Frida could have been stuck as a troll as well after her failed spell or something). But like you said, maybe this will play out in Season 3. We'll see. They both deserved a better sendoff than that.

While I agree with almost everything you say the movie does well, there is one massive flaw that I just can’t get over and kinda ruins the movie for me, and that’s how the movie handles the allegory present throughout the series so far. Up until the movie, I felt like the overall themes and message of the film with regards to colonialism and environmentalism were very consistent and very much coming from the angle that colonialism is bad and the power structures that hold it up are bad and that reconnecting with the environment and caring for it is important for all people. The movie kind of detracts from these messages by making some actual destructive trolls and having the “resolution” be “the trolls can visit trollberg once a year” which feels… off to me. If we take this as an allegory for irl colonialism and environmentalism, it seems to take a very weak stance on the issue that doesn’t actually say anything that deep and meaningful and more or less advocates for the status quo which Seasons 1 and 2 didn’t do. That inconsistency in the allegory really bothers me to the point that I couldn’t enjoy the movie. This of course stems from the fact that I view Hilda as an allegory, and I think that if I didn’t, I would enjoy the movie much more. Add to this the character inconsistencies seen with almost all of the main cast, and yeah I can’t say I think the movie is good at all based on what I expected from it leading up to this point. The visuals were stunning, the action was pretty good, and the minor continuity points were stellar though. All of those points you brought up should definitely be praised for how tough those things are to do effectively.

Very reasonable problem to have with the movie. It doesn't bother me so much because I don't read the Trolls as an allegory for the environment but rather people who had their land colonized. In that way, it makes sense for there to be a number of Trolls who have what the movie considers to be a destructive outlook on how to resolve their conflict with the humans because despite sharing common traits, represented in them still being able to feel the presence of Amma, they are each still individuals and they deal with their situation in different way. It's only natural that some will have a less healthy outlook, just as some people from real world conflicts similar to the one presented in this movie had an unhealthy outlook I also think the steps Trollberg began taking to ease tensions between humans and Trolls didn't have to be as extreme as everyone moving out of the city and finding a home somewhere else because these are just the first steps being taken. Like Hilda says, not all the humans would just immediately welcome the Trolls with open arms and vice versa with the Trolls. So I think it would be a little unrealistic for such a dramatic change to be made so quickly. Plus, Hilda does suggest that the humans will continue to become more connected with the Trolls over time beyond where the film ends with the whole next generation thing I talked about. Idk, that's just how I feel about it, but your points make a lot of sense to me

Trolls are always allowed in but once a year they celebrate a new holiday in honor of the trolls reconnecting with their land for the first time in (I think) centuries. Funnily enough, I have the same opinion of this movie that I have of Trolls (2016). The first half of the Hilda movie and the first half of Trolls are really good as they both have great world building and entertaining characters. However, the second half of both movies really drags along and I'm left feeling a little underwhelmed by the movies' unsatisfying resolutions. Weird how both of these films are about trolls, huh?

I mean, I don't see why a distinction would need to be made between 2d and 3d but I guess top 2d shows would be Avatar TLA, Death Note, and Phineas and Ferb. Best 3d shows are Beastars, and probably like The Dragon Prince, and Arcane. idk (I saw like 3 episodes of TDP and I haven't seen Arcane)

But I would like to know what shows are the most amazing at how they look. 3D would be Dragon Riders, Clone Wars and its spin-offs, Reboot, TMNT 2010, MLP G5, the rugrats reboot, some transformers shows , Kamp Koral, Alvine !!!, The Smurfs Reboot, the new care bears, Strawberry Shortcake berry bitty adventures, Ladybug and Cat Noir, PJ Masks, Micky Mouse club house, Penguins, Vampirina, Troll Hunter, the 2nd He-Man reboot, Karma's World, puss in boots, etc Thomas and friends falls under stop motion I think.
