  • Promising pathway to mitigate climate change: The Biomass Briquette Fuel market represents a pivotal shift towards sustainable energy solutions, offering a promising pathway to mitigate climate change and foster environmental stewardship. As stakeholders across industries and governments increasingly prioritize sustainability, biomass briquette fuel stands poised to play a central role in the transition towards a greener, more sustainable future. By harnessing nature’s potential, we can create a world powered by clean, renewable energy sources, paving the way for a brighter tomorrow for generations to come. 7.25 % Growth on fire: Biomass Briquettes fueling the future
Advantages of Biomass Briquettes: Environmental Benefits and energy application.
Napier Grass : Napier grass is a promising alternative feedstock for energy conversion, particularly solid fuels. It grows well in tropical conditions, reaching heights of up to 4 meters and having a lifespan of 7 years. Its high heating value (average of 16 MJ/kg) makes it suitable for thermochemical conversion. At present condition, Pakchong1 (Super Hybrid Napier Grass) showed maximum biomass yield as compared to other Napier grass.
    Biopellet from Napier Grass:
The key findings include: 1. Energy Density: The produced pellets exhibited good energy density, comparable to values reported in the literature based on gross calorific values.2. Pellet Density: The density of the biopellets was influenced by time, pressure, and feedstock ratios. Both PNG and WNG biopellets had densities higher than 0.650 g/cm³. 3. Durability: The pellets demonstrated durability higher than 95%, indicating their ability to withstand handling without breakage. The Pakchong 1 (Super Napier) biopellet recorded the highest durability of 99.95% at 73.82 MPa pressure and 13 min compression time. The highest recorded durability for the WNG biopellet was 99.98% for a 100:0 L/S ratio at 13 min compression time and at a 73.82 MPa pressure point. Even with all of the inconsistent data, both PNG and WNG biopellet densities obtained were higher than 0.650 g/cm3. All in all, the overall data indicated that high-quality biopellet fuel was produced, thus demonstrating the sustainability of utilizing Napier grass for energy applications.
Biopellet prepared by Napier Grass have several advantages: 1. Renewable Resource: Napier grass is renewable and can be harvested multiple times per year. 2.Cost-Effective: Cultivation costs are relatively low, making it an economical choice. 3.Reduced Greenhouse Gas Emission: Biopellets contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions compared to fossil fuels. 4.Local Sourcing: Cultivating Napier grass locally reduces dependence on imported energy sources.
Approximately 61.54 m³ of biopellets can be prepared from 40 tons of dry biomass of Napier grass with a density of 0.650 g/cm³ from 1 acre. Therefore, the weight of 61.54 m³ of biopellet (0.650 g/cm³) is approximately 39,991 kg. The Price of 1 ton of Biopellet is Rs. 8700/-(India Mart 2nd June, 2024). The farmers can earn of Rs. 3.48 Lakh from 40 tons biopellet from 1 acre/year & Rs. 17.4 lakhs in 5 years period. Looking to the output of biopellet and high price in market, cultivation of Super Hybrid Napier grass can be a profitable venture, especially considering its high yield potential and versatility in various regions of India.

    doubt..
if we have 150 tons of green napier. grass we cant have 150 ton of pellets because grass is wet we need to dry it to approx 10% moisture so 60% WEIGHT WILL BE REDUCED, so we cant have more than 50-70 Tons of pellet
