I’m sorry to correct something you said regarding Henry VIII and Shakespeare. They were not contemporaries. Henry died in 1547, Shakespeare was born in 1564. But Shakespeare was a contemporary of Henry’s daughter Elizabeth I, ( 1533-1603) the plays performed at Hampton Court would have been during her reign. Sorry, but English history is my jam!☺️. Ok enough history, what an amazing experience, so jealous! Thank you for sharing that with us, you were great in the play, what fun. That maze and the Vine House were amazing! Sure wish we had some of their rain. 👏🇨🇦

So glad you got to visit Hampton Court on your visit to the UK. I'm originally from England but my daughter, born in Texas, went to England and earned a Master's Degree in Textile Conservation at Winchester School of Art. She worked at Hampton Court for 10 years, til babies arrived, and amongst other things worked on Henry's tapestries in the Great Hall.

What a lovely tour! I really enjoyed the gardens, the castle and yours and Dave's acting! What fun. Prior to Covid we were avid travelers and I miss it. Scotland is one of the places we never saw. Really nice to see it vicariously.

Jenny. What a lovely and informative video. I was there several decades ago and the gardens have changed a fair bit. I’ll need to see if I can arrange a trip south to go back.
I’ve no idea if it might interest you but there’s a series of novels by C J Sansom about a lawyer called Shardlake working in London in and around the court of Henry VIII. I guess they fall into the historical fiction genre but the historical accuracy is excellent and really evocative of the time and place. The first in the series is called Dissolution and although not necessary, probably best read in chronological order. Julia
Ps. Loved your acting debut. You are brave!

This is so exciting for me. I just went there the Beginning of May with my daughter. It was beautiful! I loved touring the vegetable garden.

Hampton Court is one of my favorite places to visit in England. I hope to get to there for their flower show one day.

Thanks for the tour! I’m surprised by the dahlias. England is so dreary, but they were blooming beautifully. I was expecting more roses.

I was surprised too. There were things blooming at the same time there that have very distinct seasons - notably, the alliums and the dahlias blooming together there.
