- This is a remake of one of our first Clips and features arguably the most insane sounding Naturally Aspirated Monster we can remember, trumping even the mighty Judd V8 beasts. It is Franco Putelli´s Ferrari 360 N-GT, which competed in the Italian Hillclimb Championship between 2008 and 2010 and while looking not that dissimilar to the 360 Challenge units of the time, it is mechanically a very different machine. Specially tuned by Michelotto and taking the 3.6L F131 Engine to its very limit, it produced 540Hp at a deafening 9.500Rpm in de-restricted form, while being built within the GT2 rules of the time. It is a truly special version of an already special car that we probably won´t ever be able to watch again on the European Hills. But in the meawhile we can always remember with this clip...

That is how Ferrari’s V8s should sound from the factory.
They wouldn’t last very long if they did sound like like this.
They actually do. Just add an aftermarket exhaust to them and the NA V8 models do that. The 355, 360 and 458 models sound glorious.

@@hoost3056 the description says they have taken the engine to the limit, so it will very different indeed from the road car. this will have had everything under the sun changed. Cams , rods pistons the lot. It wont be anything like the road engine and therefore you couldn’t get a road car to sound like this. It would be quite some way off sounding like this

I've always thought this particular car had a JUDD/Zytek V8. Glad to know it's a tuned Ferrari engine.
You have a good ear. It sounds exactly like a Zytek.
To me what gives engine away as being a Ferrari is the high pitched scream you can hear as the car approaches you. With the Judd/zytek engines it’s a lot more muted until the car flys by the camera
Don't know about the Zytek, but the Judd sounds different. Darker sound.
Judd has a completely different intake sound.
Its tuned race car. One does not need judd motor to get that sound.

Man,seeing and hearing this brought me back to 2008. Buzet race when i saw this particular model driven by Stefano Pierdomenico and boy was he pushing the thing to the edge.Scream of that V8 sent shivers down my spine and i remember i smiled from ear to ear.Just further pushed me into becoming fan of hillclimb racing.Thank you for video remake.Original feels too short and so does this one.Can't have enough of that symphony.

V12 sound is totally different from V8. V12 has this unique symphonical voice, V8 is more like a screaming or hissing cat in high RPMs.

I agree the lusty 4.2 Jaguar engine and te great sounding triumph 2+ 2.5 engine and disagree. Take the Audi 5 Cyl Tubocharged for instance.or the supercharged BRMV16 nothing else like it and never will be.

I saw this one in person, simply beautiful to hear. It was hill climb race called Caprino Spiazzi, they used to do it 10 min from where i live in Italy. This one in particular was in 2009.

The 355/360 were always the best sounding Ferrari V8s. In race spec this is even more true.

Still to this day, the 360 strudale is the best looking obtainable Ferrari. The F40 is the greatest of all time, but it’s far from obtainable. Great sound. I think the 355 puts off a slightly better note than the 360, but this particular tuned 360 sings a sweet song
