When alex kissed him he didn't see this coming but he definitely start to notice his feelings to him after bit by bit but he was with Charlie and happy and he knows how much alex deserve that so i think that's why he kept looking from a far and be a best friend as he put himself in... I honestly got a feeling that Zach was Bi and he liked Alex too, not only Chloe, but Zach felt like Alex deserved someone better than him. Winston all of suddenly saying he loved Alex. Now that annoyed me, because he didn't even knew him that well.
I think Winston is just kind of a person easily caught feelings for someone, which made him believe that he was in love with both Monty and Alex, even he barely knew either of them. I mean, he had just met Monty twice and one time was even unpleasant, but he still cared so much about Monty to such an extent that he did everything for "revenging" him while knowing what he had done. Similarly, he cared so much about Alex enough to drop his "justice for Monty" plan which he had been obsessing over the entire time to protect Alex's life, because "he's the kindest person that I've met". It was shown in the show that Winston had been growing up in a rich neglected house, so it's understandable that he's "in love" with anyone who gave him a bit of their attention and was kind to him, to the extent of willing to do everything for them.
This is so heartbreaking but you did a point in Zach's POV ❤️. I'm in tears with the parallels with Hanna because it was just like that, hiding that feeling from his friends and not being brave enough to accept it himself until it was too late :')

I guess in the season, Alex and Zach were in the wrong time and the wrong circumstances which made them no longer right for each other. Since they were both so damaged and depressed, but their solutions to deal with their own problems were different. While Zach kept being confused and denied, hiding away which caused him fucking up most of his relationships (especially when it came to love), Alex chose to move on and got over chasing after someone (at least that he thought so) that could never love him back and found happiness. It‘s sad, but it makes sense and makes me ship them even harder because I love tragedy xD And I’m glad that Alex’s finally happy ❤️

@Anya Boger Maybe he would confess it eventually when he gets better or when Alex breaks up with Charlie, maybe he's not and Alex stays with Charlie or moves on with someone else, we can consider it as an open ending for all the characters and all the posibilties, along with Zalex. I actually like Charlie, he's so kind, so sweet and hilariously dorky. And the most important that he was good for Alex, he made Alex feel he was loved, he was safe and made him happy ♥️♥️♥️ Winston is okay, I'm just not sure that Alex would be happier, since he used to be the "boyfriend" of the one who raped his friend and it would be hella complicated. But with Zach or Charlie or Winston or even... all of them lol, as long as Alex's happy, then I'm fine.
