Interesting but would be difficult to use on harder puzzles. Harold Nolte features the "no candidate" approach in his TH-cam videos. I very much appreciate the study of the various tecnniques to find the best one for you as an individual

I totally agree. Someone told me about someone solving a puzzle without pencil marks so I tried it. It was weird at first but fun to do. As you say, for puzzles only requiring only Naked and Hidden Singles it's an okay way of solving puzzles. But as soon as you get into Skyscrapers, 2-String Kites, X-chains, and other single digit patterns what is presented in this video will be very difficult to do. For anything having advanced techniques I prefer Andoku 3 and Hodoku. I prefer Bernard Hobiger's way the best and it's the one I use the most.

Happy New Year! Thanks for covering the 3 approaches to solving a puzzle. I loved trying all 3, where I use the software approach for the more difficult puzzles and no marks for the easier puzzles. Thank for sharing.

I may experiment with finding tricks for usng advanced techniques when solving puzzles without pencil marks. But I have the 2nd Sudoku book almost finished and I'm working on Sue de Coq tutorial next.

@@moncoeur111 All I could find is 2.2.2 in github. Is this correct?

I may have discovered my own puzzle solving technique. I don't know the super advanced techniques so I'm looking now to see if anyone has published it. This is going to distract me from my second book and from doing a video on Sue de Coq. OMG! I just used the technique to solve a Hodoku Extreme 1906 puzzle. I'm going to try it on some harder ones.
