Outstanding piloting and maneuvering by the helmsman and whoever had the con.

No tugs. Just her bow thrusters and screws. Damn fine seamanship

I use to live in Detroit years ago, and my Grandmother use to live on the southwest side. I remember my aunts would talk and talk and talk about River rouge, it was so fascinating to hear about river rouge. If I not wrong their was a shopping area near there. Nice to see Old river rouge

The massive great lakes ore carrier ships like this, were just like the ships of Ford Motor Company's fleet. Now all of those Ford ships are gone. Some went to scrap yards, other's were sold and renamed.
If you want to experience what life on the Great Lakes ship's was like, visit the Dossin Great Lakes museum on the Detroit River side of Detroit's Belle Isle. There is the front section of the famous William Clay Ford. The Great Lakes ore carrier that was involved in finding the Edmund Fitzgerald during the fierce wild storm on Lake Superior that dark and stormy November night. Made more famous by Gordon Lightfoot's song :
The Wreck of The Edmund Fitzgerald.

I wonder if the guys in the pilot house ever notice the drone?

Pretty cool. Is this the approx. area where the Fitzgerald was launched?

No sir, would be a little further south where Nicholson’s slip is.

I was surprised to see the ship was registered in Port Dover?

Hi Andrew, I clicked your video because of the boat . Why did you put music instead of the sound the boat makes? I’m well aware that it is something that people do to their videos, but I don’t understand why. Why didn’t you include the audio of your subject? Hearing and seeing the boat is what I expected - not a music video with a boat in it. I’m genuinely curious. Thanks

@Steven Van Niman My apologies. However I do not understand how my question could possibly hurt your feelings Steven.

Some of my videos have start up sounds / accelerating and exchange of salutes. It’s as simple as a drone can not possibly record sound from itself. A microphone on a drone would be over powered from the sound of the props spinning. You would hear nothing but a buzz. Sorry your disappointed, but my videos are intended to be cinematic tributes to the ships, as I am not set up to record all the sounds etc. thanks for watching!

@@andrewdeandetroit Yes, I see the drone makes noise. Of course. Thanks 🙏 The video is very good- I can almost smell the mud! 👋

I got footage of her unloading grain at the Owen Sound elevators.
