Our homie Jaime is back and is showing off more of the Magnolia Park store.
With adidas surging into major competition with Nike, Jaime gives us a closer look at the adidas Ultra Boost and adidas NMD. "While holding a pair of adidas, Ultra Boost Jaime says, "These are the everyday shoe for Americans now." When showing off a couple of Primeknit adidas NMDs, Jaime drops the bomb that they resale for $325-350, even though the shoe goes for only $200 retail. Jaime also boasts about the "Living Legend" Steph Curry and how this is the first time he sees an Under Armour shoe resell. Of course, no interview with Jaime can happen without him giving a history lesson on the sneaker game as he explains how 2012's sneaker craze created the monster sneaker culture we know now.

For working in multiple sneaker shops and being deemed 'the plug', Jaime knows almost nothing about the actual shoes themselves. He knows prices, and what sells, but close to nothing about the tech , the history or real knowledge of the shoes.

2012 was a bad year and probably the fall of Jordan, it became noticeable that AJ brand was caring less about Shoe quality. The shoes began to look like cardboard. And they re retroed a bunch of shoes that were grails prior to that year. For example, I would used to wear my AJ 7 "olympics" to the mall and they would break necks. That year they re retroed them, they were a general release and the shoe lost its hype. It was also the year that the Foamposites died as well. The last good year for me was 2011. Back then there were so many shoes that were so hard to get and they're all ruined now by them being re retroed

I have been saying this for awhile. 2012 had the best releases of any year I can remember.
He's exactly right, the black cement III's & then the concord XI...after that, any retro they dropped was selling out, & everyone was a sneakerhead.
listening to this I've noticed a few things, the name "the plug" can be debated I mean unless he's the go to for limited releases he doesn't seem to know much. I personally don't see why people keep saying "jordan fell off", where are they getting this from? What are they comparing this to? I mean how can a brand that retros the same shoe in the same color and continuously ups the price and amount of pairs made and for the most part sells out instantly have fell off? I don't see how people comparing a shoe that was only 20k or less pairs made be put up against a shoe that 200k-1 million pair produced even be on the same page? Even jordans that don't sell out still sell more than whats hyped now.

I guess, reason why I say that is because nobody now is stumbling on one another for a Jordan or Yeezy from what I know. This bs def happened in '11 to '12 smfh the thing I will always hate Nike for is the time period when they released Concords, Galaxy (few other very hyped comeback and new shoes that were sold in very limited quantities) they sold all these hyped shoes in short amount of time but released so much less of them and it got people hurt and killed smh and to top it off I dont remember whether or not they told buyers to stay safe or addressed the violence

Most sneaker heads are older cats who wanted kicks they couldn't get when they were younger. At this point we all pretty much have what we need as far as Jordan's go. I can def see them taking a backseat to the more comfortable joints that are coming out.
